My aunt died last Friday and the funeral is today. She was my dad's only surviving sibling. She and my uncle never had any children and alot of the funeral planning has fallen on me and my dad. My uncle almost passed out last night at the funeral home (he has a bad heart and scared me that he was leaving us also) and I seriously don't know how long he will last with her gone. They would have been married 40 years next month. I worry about the effect all of this is having on my dad also. He is the oldest and has watched the rest of his siblings pass on.

Please think good thoughts for all of our family today.

Thank you for your kind thoughts and wishes. We made it through and now I'm going to try and get some things done at home. I'm exhausted.

I do have to tell this "short story." My aunt was very strong in her faith and was at church every Saturday night for years. A woman showed up at the funeral home and said that she'd never officially met my aunt, but saw my aunt come to church with her walker rain, snow or sunshine and admired my aunt's faith so much that she wanted to come say a prayer at her passing. It shows you we never know how our actions effect other peoples lives, whether we "know" them or not.
