So in the 5 or so trips since TOT has been open I have chickened out. This time, I finally did it! While I am so glad I did, I am in no rush to do it again. I just didn't enjoy it or the experience of it enough to go through the falling again. I am not a fan of heights or falling, but suck it up to experience most attractions. I think seeing the hotel and the pre-show once is enough for me. In retrospect, the falling wasn't AS BAD as I thought. But if you are on the fence, give it a shot, you just might like it!

Me too! I just went a couple of weeks ago for the first time. My kids never wanted to do it, and I am afraid of heights so I didn't push it, but I finally sucked it up and did it, and I LOVED it. I will definitely go again. Here's to facing your fears! I also did EE and RnRC for the first time.

I love to do all the rides but have found the older I got the more some of these rides started to affect me :confused3 When I do ToT I tend to get a little woozie & same thing with EE so the last trip I took some motion sickness meds & I was able to handle the rides better.

In my mind I can do it all but my darn body tends to hold me back sometimes.

Glad you got to do it. I still haven't conquered Mission Space yet :scared1: maybe this next trip I will

I sucked it up and gave it a try last summer. My family was riding over and over again and the kids were having a blast, I finally said ok I'd give it a shot. I sat next to the 6 year old... at one point I was screaming and said, "Jillian, is it over yet?" And she hollered back, "I don't know!" And I said, "What do you mean you don't know, you just rode this thing 4 times in a row!" LOL

I'm glad I tried it, but I wont be doing it again. Too much for me. LOL

I know the feeling through I love it I also get nervous when I am in tthe quqe despite through I always enjoy the pre show. I will also scream loud when the ride actualy gets to actually drop. Hiowever it is an exllcent ride ,

To me the drop is not the coolest part of the ride, I think the ghosts that appear are an extremely cool effect and I think they should have added a lot more story and ghosts like that. Like as you go up you stop at each floor with a little story and ghosts etc., they should have done that with at least 5 or 6 stories. To me this ride could have been A LOT better if they would have extended these parts.

We were down for the ToT 13k. My wife was running. She loves ToT. It has got to be her favorite ride. Me I prefer and would love to be a spokesman for MS.

Anyways, I rode ToT back in the day when it took you up, dropped you, took you right back up and dropped you again, end of ride. That was enough for me! I do not like the feeling of my stomach dropping. Well while we were down for the ToT 13k I sucked it up and went back on it just for her! It really wasn't as bad as I remembered. Not my favorite feeling in the world. The pre show IMHO is awesome.....

So my advice is like the OP. Go for it atleast once. It doesn't bite.

Congrads!
You can now say you are braver than a big n burly cajun man, because I still refuse to get on that thing!

Good for you!:thumbsup2
Never again for me, I rode it once and I guess I was the only one who did not scream, my DD asked why I was so quiet and I said because I WAS PRAYING! :worship:

I finally rode it last Friday. I am terrified of heights and falling. But I wanted to experience the rest of the ride. My MIL was laughing at my screaming. And my legs were literally shaking when it was over. But at least I can say I've done it. And now, I will never ever do it again. ;) :lmao:

I finally rode this for the time 2 trips back. The first time I got off of it, I could barely stand up!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE HATE HATE the dropping! I like the theming and the rest of my family loves it, so I have ridden it a total of 9 times now. I cannot say I like it at all, but I still go. My tummy is queasy right now just thinking about it. I think it's an amazing ride, but it's not what I like. We'll see if I'm brave enough when we go in 9 days. It's been 2 years since the last trip and my bravery may be all gone.

I also hate drops and heights, but I did it on my recent trip merely to say I've done it--never again. Everything up to the point of going into the drop chute is pretty cool, though--I didn't know there was that much to it all, especially along that track that takes you to the chute.

I held onto the handlebars with a death grip the entire time as I didn't know what to expect and screamed the entire time in the chute--up or down--I bet people thought I was insane. And, my luck, the one time I go on they apparently did the max number of drops/height, too... I came off the ride with tears welling up in my eyes. Another little girl, who'd gotten off after us, was bawling in the gift shop and I just wanted to hug her and tell her I felt the same way. The bellhop Stitch smashed quarter made me feel slightly better...

*sigh* Still pathetic at 25... :guilty:

Me too!! DS11 and I were there two weeks ago and I finally rode it. Last year we even got fastpasses, got up to the entrance, and I chickened out. I felt really bad since he wanted to ride it, so this year I promised I would and I did. It wasn't bad at all, in fact I will definitely ride it again next time around. I have some claustrophobia issues that I thought would be bothered by this, but no problem (that little elevator in disneyquest is another story).

This ride used to scare the crap out of me, but I seriously think it was milder the last three times I rode it (starting with June 08). I used to remember people saying they "toned "it down a notch or two. I seriously wonder if that's true. :confused3

We're going for the third time in Dec and DH and a friend of mine are trying to get me to go on this ride. I am still not sure I want to but I am scared at the same time.

Congrats! I got over my fear a few trips ago. It really is intimidating! Now it is one of my favorite rides in WDW. Glad you enjoyed it:thumbsup2

LOL. I did the ride when I was younger, like 10ish, and I don't really do it anymore. I just don't enjoy it! My blood pressure starts rising the moment I step into the queue... I just hate that dropping feeling. However, I know Caroline is going to make me go when we're there in January, because she's never done it before and won't do it alone! Eeeek!

I did this ride on my honeymoon and I liked it, but now I just can't ride it anymore. I love the theming but I just don't find it enjoyable. My husband was depressed when I refused to ride it again, but now he has a new ride junkie, my daughter! She went when she was 4 and she can't wait to go on TOT with him again!

This is a great idea:thumbsup2
