After reading some threads/posts about how shoddy the BWV rooms are, I'm getting a little nervous. This is our first BWV stay in a studio and I'm crossing my fingers for a renovated room. By no means do I ever expect a perfect room anywhere I go and I am not one to complain about every little thing. I do, however, expect cleanliness and maintenance issues to be tended to in a timely manner. I am hoping for the best. :)

I have yet to have a shoddy, unmaintained villa, of any size, at BWV. Yes, there is normal wear and tear in places, but there is no way to prevent that. I have always had any issues addressed quickly. I had a ceiling fan that didn't work and some lightbulbs missing....maintainence came right up and dealt with it.

Yeah, normal wear and tear don't bother me. I just get scared when I hear the horror stories so I'll have to make a point of not reading them. We've never had any problems anywhere else we stayed. No matter what, I look forward to our stay.

We've been lucky as well, never had a villa at BWV in poor condition. Worn yes, but always clean and no major problems.

I've never had a bad room either. When are you going? Which view? I heard they are working on standard view right now.

We had a standard studio last week and it was awesome....not one of the renovated rooms but we got one of the dedicated studios so we had some extra room. It was room 2097.....it was close to the lobby and right downstairs was the main pool.....we LOVED it!

Your idea to stop reading posts about terrible rooms is a good one. It worked for me. If I have a problem, I'll deal with it, but there's no sense in anticipating a problem.

Before renovations, in March, I had a 2 bedroom standard in BWV. We checked in, and enjoyed the day at Epcot, came back to find that we had a 2 bedroom very close to the lobby, elevator. There had been reports about noise from ME and airline luggage containers when you had this location, and I was a bit aprehensive about the week we were going to have. The view was not the best, but if you enjoy watching people, it was fun. None of us were bothered by noise. The walk to the elevators was so easy. It was a great stay. Prior to that stay, I used to look at the balconies and dread getting one of those villas because of the reports here, well, I'm not going to spend more time dreading anything.

Sept 13-19. We have a Studio Preferred view. I haven't put in a request for anything because I'm really not sure which would be the best. Just DH & I and we don't mind walking the "long hallways" I've been hearing about. I'm thinking near the quiet pool would be nice. Do you think we could request this area? I'm also thinking of requesting a top floor room. Do you hear noise from the rooms above?

I heard they are working on standard view right now.

Does that mean the preferred views are done?

My favorite preferred studio view??? Facing the Village Green, closer to the elevators. I can't remember the villa number...but I had it twice. It was on the 5th floor, two doors down from the elevators. Man, I loved it....I got to see the boardwalk, watch IllumiNations.
My other favorite was on the 5th floor again, but it was facing Luna Park. I want to say 5050 maybe. It was a huge studio due to it's being on the 'curve' of the building. Very nice villa.

I just returned Saturday from a glorious week at the Boardwalk. No I didn't have a renovated room and it was just fine!!! If I took to heart all the negative posts about the condition of the Boardwalk I'd never go!!! :lmao:

Sure I'm happy the place is getting a "makeover", but I have never had a shabby room at the Boardwalk nor have I ever had a room where everything wasn't working properly. :thumbsup2

Yes, you could request quiet pool & top floor. I've never noticed much noise from above, more from the hallway.

From what I heard, they are working on the standard view wing, which also includes some preferred views. Some of the quiet pool view rooms would be in this area. You could also put in a request for "renovated room".
