I have so much fun reading about it and watching the development cycles, as well as knowing that I will eventually be able to ride it.

I think the way Disney does their attractions is what keeps me returning so often, compared to say a Six Flags. I know whatever Six Flags' new ride is, that its basically a metal structure with no theming, hence there is no real rush to go and see it. But I know whatever Disney puts up, is going to be elaborate and well-themed for my entertainment and Im excited like a kid at Christmas to see what they've got for me.

Agreed.

Soarin' and EE are real WINNERS!
Let's hope the new ride coming to MGM (in the area that used to house WWTBAM) is a good one. It sounds like it will be.

I have high hopes for "Midway Madness", the working title of the ride Robo is talking about. At first I thought, "another screen based attraction?", but once I realized it was going to use Spiderman Ride-style technology and was going to use those screens in an all-new, interactive way, I got a bit more excited.

The more I hear about it, the more it sounds like "Buzz Lightyear" on acid...and that sits well with me. ;)

I agree. That's why I refer to WDW as a theme park and other parks (like Carowinds - a Paramount run park in NC and SC) amusement parks. For me, the real WDW magic is its theming.

This is the first time I have heard anything about Midway Madness. I had read elsewhere that they were putting another Nemo ride at the Millionaire location, but I guess that was incorrect.

Are they putting a Nemo play where Tarzan's Rocks was once located at the Animal Kingdom?

Also, there was no construction at the Kingdom where 20.000 Leagues was once located. Are they putting a Nemo ride there or is that just for Disneyland? The only thing I noticed was more character interaction at that location. :confused3

Lots of ?'s, midge - let's see if I can help. :)

1) Yup, the millionaire location is going to be a ride called "Midway Maddness" (working title). There are a couple of articles that Robo so kindly posted above that can give you a brief overview. The same attraction is going into DCA over in California.

2) The Finding Nemo stage show is going to open next month, where Tarzan Rocks formerly was. I'm happy because the place got enclosed and now we get A/C. :)

3) The MK 20K lagoon was demolished and filled in entirely. A very tiny portion of the land was used for a Pooh playground, but the majority of the land is filled in and empty, awaiting use someday. There are apparently several projects that could be greenlighted for the MK's next E-ticket (remember, haven't gotten a new one since Splash Mountain 15 years ago), and that space is where one of them may end up. For now, it's empty. Disneyland's 20K lagoon was in better physical shape, and defying all logic and speculation they decided to refurb instead of destroy.

Hope this helps!

See, I think MK needs a new E-ticket over Disney Studios. Seriously, what's the last spanking brand new thing MK has received that is E-ticket caliber?

MK doesn't need any "help" in pulling in guests.

I agree I'd like to see 10 (or so) new "E Ticket attractions," but the MK is holding its own as far as guest-draw is concerned (number one in the world).
OTOH, Disney can stick as many new rides in as many WDW parks as they'd like, as far as that goes, and I'd be happy to go visit them.

There IS the new "Monsters, Inc. Comedy Floor" attraction is going into the space that last-housed "Timekeeper."
This is reported to be the type of audience interaction show that works so well with "Turtle Talk" in Epcot.
I wouldn't call this an "E Ticket," but if its as much fun and as popular as Crush, it might rate an "D Ticket" (but who can say for sure at this point in the development?)

While the MK doesn't "need" a new "E-ticket", there is a pretty good chance of one opening before the end of the decade. It has been a decade and a half since the MK had something to new to brag about, and current rumors suggest a lot of activity is going on in "blue sky" land that just may become reality.

We can dream.

Is there a set date this will be opening? We will be there Thanksgiving week.
The Finding Nemo stage show, that is.

Magic Kingdom is getting The Laugh Floor opening in Jan, Animal Kingdom just got EE last Feb, Epcot has Nemo which just opened, so MGM is next

Im curious if they'll put up another thrill ride at MGM farther back in the park to help stop the bottleneck that is RNRC and TOT area.
