I can't stand the search option!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, how do I search for posts I started or posted on?

As far as I can tell, you can't. All we can do now is find threads we've started or threads someone else has started. We can no longer find individual posts via the search function. If there's a way to do it, I sure as heck haven't figured it out yet.

To find threads you have started, simply click on your user name and "find all posts by..." It'll take you to your threads, but not your indivual posts on other threads you haven't started.

I think the only way to do that is to subscribe to the thread.

That doesn't work either . It's very frustrating.

I find it very frustrating that I can't search and find the info that I want. The search feature is practically useless.

If it was functional, it would certainly cut down on the need to ask the same questions over and over again by the newbies. Not to say that many of them won't ask anyway, but if the search feature worked, it might help cut down on it.

I used to search for info before asking questions. Now, what's the point?

Yep, it is very frustrating not to be able to keep track of threads.
Further, if you try to search for an unusual word that you know is in yr post, the search engine does not, most of the time, retrieve it.

How are we expected to stalk others?

LOL. Yeah, but can't the powers that be fix the problem? It's just that I can never remember the titles of threads I've posted on, but I'd really like to keep up with some of them.

No. Alex indicated that, maybe later this year, they might have some other way that BoardTracker can do some of what the old search did, but they cannot restore the old functionality. It would be too expensive.

Auto-subscribe. If you don't want the email, the configure your options to subscribe without email.

I'm positive you were joking but I say this seriously.........I think it may be one valid reason (among several) the search feature doesn't work anymore.

Well sometimes too, you might need to ask a common question but as it pertains to your own circumstances. I would hope that nobody ever feels they can't ask a question and that everyone would feel welcome, no matter what.
Some people get mad that the same questions get asked over and over but I think they forget that every day the DIS welcomes many new members, some don't know their way around a website like this, some might not realize there are even other forums here.

Ahhhhhh I'm rambling.....sorry. The search function is great to have but since it's not working right now I hope you're always able to ask questions here and find someone that kindly posts the answers for you.
