I can't stand it when store clerks

Hand you your dollar bills, change and receipt all at once. I am trying to put the change in the change compartment, then the dollar bills in the bill compartment, and trying to decide if I want the receipt in my wallet, a bag or just throw it in my purse.

While I am doing all of this, they are already running the next persons things through the scanner and look at me like I am in the way.

I liked it when they would hand you your change first (put it away), then the dollar bills (put them away) and put the reciept in the bag without asking.

Whine, whine, whine.......(could I possibly found something more trivial to whine about )

I usually get a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee in the drive-thru. It never fails...they always hand me the coffee and anything else first while I want to hand them the money first. I've already got my money in my hand then have to put it down to take the stuff, then pick it up again. Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't stop. LOL! I can't believe they actually hand people the goods before they have the money.

I am with Docrafiki, I hate people who stand in line counting their change and rearranging their money in their wallets while I am waiting.

Don't they realize I have to get up there so I can give the checker my coupons and write my check

don't be too hard on the checkout folks, everyone doing their own little rituals probably frustrates them too.

Whenever I was a cashier....in my lifetime.....I would ALWAYS hand the customers the change first...drives me nut too!!!!!!!!!!

I hate it when people hand it to me all at once. I appreciate it so much when clerks are smart enough to hand back the coins first. I am so slow at putting away my money, lol. I always feel so rushed when I buy things.

When you are a clerk... (which I am)..... you actually SAVE time if you hand back the change first.... then count the bills in your own hand before you hand it to your guest. Sorry but it is more efficient than handing someone change and bills on top of it.

OK, on the flip side.....I can't stand it when I tell a customer his total is $2.07 and then hands me $3.00 and tells me....oh wait....I have .07 somewhere and then holds up the line for 2 minutes while looking for the change and I have 10 people behind him, and this is not in a supermarket, so we ALL do things that someone cannot stand.

I used to be a grocery clerk & I always handed the change back first, then the bills & then I would ask if they wanted the receipt with them or in the bag.
I hate it when they give it all to you at once too. I read an article once that listed that high on the list among customers pet peeves.
Mskanga - I totally sympathize with you on the change thing....if customers don't know exactly where it is....they should just forget about it!

I used to love it when they would actually COUNT the bills and change backward to you to double check accuracy. You knw, like if your bill came to $5.89 and you gave them $6.00. They would hand you a penny (to make .90) then a dime (to make the $6.00) and actually count it! Now they cannot make chang without a computer, and then just look to see how much you have coming back. If you are lucky, they will say how much they are giving you, or else just thrust it at you with an automatic "thank you for shopping at---". Gets so I like to use the automatic registers. I can count my own change, thank you very much. (I know they may be taking away jobs, but frankly, many of these people need to be replaced!)

I didn't realize that so many people paid in cash. I get miles for every dollar, so I hardly carry any cash. Credit card for me... one statement with all expenditures and Citibank is kind enough to take the whole balance each month from my checking account, so I don't have to write a dang-blasted check either. They even send me an itemized list of all charges at the end of each year.

My pet peeve is when they analyze what I buy. I don't really mind it if they ask if something is good or say that they really like something, but I'm always kind of wondering if they're as interested in my female products as my yogurt. There are a few teenage sackers at the place I shop who will actually tell you that they don't like what you bought. That drives me nuts.

ok, i'm with doc rafiki. i hate being beind someone who decides they now want to arrange their purse/wallet. get your change, step to the side, and let the person behind you go next.
