$129.00 a night for the dolphin is tempting. Does everybody think it's safe to assume Disney will NOT be giving any value/mod discounts early August, besides the AP?

Thanks! We're looking at any weekend in May, preferably a Sat-Tuesday. DD likes the value resorts or POFQ b/c of the slide.

I went to the hotels.com site that was mentioned and am getting $110 per night at POP for Sat May 21-Tue May 24 for standard room, $125 for preferred.

ETA: It's actually coming up for all the values except AS Movies, they only have preferred room available.

Just remember that booking through Expedia, Orbitz, Hotels.com, Priceline, etc. will make you ineligible for the dining plan (if that's important to you).

If you were thinking about AAA anyway, call them too and see what they have to offer.

Take the Dolphin at $129 plus 10% off. That is a fantastic rate -- cheaper than the rates the PP listed for a value. Dolphin is a deluxe resort with a fantastic location and good bus service to MK. While it may not have the big Disney icons, it has so much more to offer in terms of rooms, bedding, service plus a wonderful pool with waterfall, slide and hot tubs.

I would never consider a value when that rate at the Dolphin is available. We have stayed at the Dolphin and it is great. Lots of dining options -- including the Fountain, which is fun for kids. While it is more "grown-up" than the values, there is a Disney souvenir shop and boats to two Disney parks.

Take the Dolphin and don't look back!

When you calculate the price of the Dolphin, though, don't forget to:
1) add the cost of transportation from & to the airport (unless you were renting a car anyway);
2) the "facilities fee" per day, which cannot be waived;
3) if you do rent a car, the parking fee.

It may still be a deal you want, but just consider all the costs when making a decision.

I don't think there will be any others besides the AP discount at the values or mods. I think they need to fill their deluxes and villas.

Having an AP is super fun.
