Almost postive but one of my husband's co-workers asked about it, and I wanted to be sure. Rack rate for free dining, right?

I swear theres someone on this board that was able to...try it.

To get the free dining, you must pay rack rate and therefore not the AAA rate. There are people who have said they've done it, but I've been told by AAA that Disney does not allow the combining or stacking of discounts.

Can you get the DDP on a discounted room ? Say you have AAA and can get a moderate for $116, can you then add the DDP and pay for it ?

Yes, you can, but you must call AAA directly and book a package which includes park tickets. You cannot add the DDP to an AAA rate room booked directly with Disney or with any other travel agent. Only an AAA agent can get you the DDP (which you'll pay for) plus the AAA discount.

I've done it before and we're doing it again this July.

We're saving close to $400 off 8 nights at the Polynesian, and we're getting hoppers and DDP for 5 of us. The AAA discount is a percentage off the room portion of the package. But again, you must contact an AAA travel agent directly.

Thank you ! Maybe next time I'll let them quote a package. When I go on their website, write the numbers and break it down, they are not only not giving a room discount but charging more than Disney. Makes no sense ???? I've gotten room only with them, but am kinda enjoying the DDP these days ;)

We've had a couple (ie: two) of people report this.

BUT.. we have also had a couple of MORE people report it -- And they were very kind to share the full details of their travel party and package details including pricing. And when we reviewed the details of their vacation plans very closely and did the math .. there was nothing unusual going on and they weren't getting two discounts.. they had just gotten confused with all the numbers flying around.

Because of the way Disney presents the package as ONE BIG NUMBER without breaking it down -- it can get very confusing, very fast.

The rule is -- and almost all AAA agents who have taken Disney training will tell you this:

1. You can have an AAA Discounted Disney Vacation (package or room only)

OR

2. You can have the lovely magical vacation offer that Disney is pushing to the public at large.

AAA can book either. But you are only getting the AAA Discount on the first one.

That's the rule.

:)
