My older daughter will be 12 when we visit WDW in 2012.

She's my incredibly picky eater-- the original chicken nugget/ pizza kid. We're working on her, honest, but it's slow going.

But this trip, she'll be an Adult on the DDP.

We're huge fans of the DDP.

Any suggestions for restaurants that have childish items on the adult menu? Or can she request an adult sized portion of the kids' menu? I'm not worried about "getting my money's worth"-- just about her being able to order something she'll enjoy.

If she eats steak or chicken cooked in its original state (not nuggets), almost all the TS have some kind of steak or chicken as an option. If it truly is chicken nuggets/pizza, you may need to limit yourselves to buffets on this trip.

Check the dining tab above and look at the menus where you'd like to eat to see what they have.

By the way, I have one of those picky eaters too. Fortunately, he does eat just about any kind of meat, so it's not too hard to find something at WDW.

I have read on here that some restaurants will provide adult portions of the items from the kids menus. I am sure someone will answer that has experience with that.

We had the oppostive problem ... we paid for our 9 year DS to be an adult back in '05 because he has always wait kid menu food!

Isn't it crazy how they count pre-teens and teens, adults! Mine is 14 and we all laugh (even DD) at the idea of her being an adult, she's is grown up, but not that old!:rotfl: Anyway back to your question, mine we all thought used to be a picky eater but the more we went to Epcot and tried the differnt countries' foods the more she ate all of it and loved it! She enjoys more food at WDW than we do half of the time!

But even if your DD is a picky eater, I think she will be fine, because there are times when mine doesn't want anything on adult menu, so we ask for kids menu and just order a burger, or grilled cheese (something to that nature) you can still get a kids menu even though she is (in their eyes) an adult. There are so many restaurants to choose from, for me I would stick with more of HollyWood Studios they seem to have restaurants with either, the burgers, noodles, shakes, that kind of food if she likes that.

You can also go to the home page, go to dining, and click on restaurants, when on that page say use search tool, you are able to look at menus see what places have reservations and what restaurants are out, that you may never have heard of! Well, I hope that helps, I am sure your DD will be more excited about the atmosphere than anything else!:thumbsup2
