I can't believe what I just did!!!

Thank goodness I'm not alone!! So there is an actual name for this sickness??? DSE - sounds serious - and incurable!:goodvibes

I was so excited when looking yesterday on our local School Division website and discovered that they have released the school calendar for next year - I began updating my calendar on my laptop and planning which weeks/weekends we can go to DL in 09/10! :woohoo: Pretty sad, huh? I just figure, if I can convince Dh that we will go back at least once more before 2010, I can fandangle AP's out of our *possible* May trip, and then keep "surprising" the family with DL trips! I desperately want to go for the whole Christmas decoration experience, but there's no way dh would agree to more than one trip in a year w/o AP's.
Best of luck - I think there's a pretty good support group here for us victims of DSE!:lovestruc

Ohhhh....you definitely seem to have a full blown case of DSE! And you CAN'T miss going during the Christmas season - it is SO pretty and so magical, so AP's are necessary!;)

Woo hoo!:cool1: Shout out to the other DSE victims! We can form DSEA - Disney Snowball Effect Anonymous....... or rather, AnonyMOUSE!!:lmao: :lmao:

I hear there's a big all female trip happening in, oh, 15 days or so.:rolleyes1 :yay:

I know, Molly!! I didn't forget. It looks like - from the the thread updates - that it is going to be a blast. I can't wait to see pictures and read the assorted Trip Reports that come out of this Ladies Trip. I haven't been able to plan anything Disney-related for 2009. I kind of knew how this year was going to go for me, so I am just playing everything by ear. I have to scrape up some $$ for some other super-important things (like dental work, for example) and other stuff, so I can't allow myself to plan any DLR trips just yet - even if I went for the day, I would have to spend SOME kind of money on food or whatever, and I just can't do it yet until I manage this other stuff. I don't even know yet if I will go on my birthday in July to get the Fun Card. Actually, all kidding aside, I am not sure if I will plan a Fall and/or Holiday DLR trip. I would LIKE to, of course, but I am not going to get my hopes up about it because I have to do these other things. So I will wait until it gets closer to Fall and see what the $$ situation is and what kinds of stuff is happening at DLR for Halloweentime and then decide. But I may have to skip 2009 altogether, just to focus on other stuff.

But don't you worry - it won't be long before I get hit with a bad case of the DSE again!:cool1: I have fallen victim to it too many times before!

Oh, but you could bring your own food and then you wouldn't have to spend anything since you already have your AP! :) I know, I'm not helping but just needed to get that snowball rolling in your direction. :rolleyes1 I'm not going on the ladies trip either since I can't seem to be able to plan anything very far in advanced because of the numerous appointments DS has. It seems like it would be a great time for some LGMH spotting so if it works out for DH and I to go over during that time I'm going to go on a LGMH hunt. Would that make us head hunters? :rotfl:

I would think that if there were ever a time to spot LGMH's, that would be during the Ladies' trip. I have never seen any before, but if you can't spot a LGMH during that trip, then I am convinced there is a conspiracy!

Hmmm.... yes a conspriacy! That must be why I haven't seen any LGMHs either!

That's ok, Kerri. By that time, I had a good cold going on. In fact, I finally broke down and went to the doctor a couple of days ago. I couldn't believe all that rain! Maybe, Sept. will be better, but being at Disney is great no matter the weather! DD is looking forward to the water area at HOJOs. I can't imagine going as often as you have/are going. We are only a couple of hours farther than you. I'm glad you can do it! Your kids are lucky!

Oh yuck! I hope you are feeling better now. Ya, the rain was wild...
we have a long break coming up between trips, after this March trip we don't have anything planned until the end of May, then July....so big gap in there. :) But yes, they are lucky and they tell us that all the time. :) lol

When are you guys going in December? I think we're changing our dates to 12/9-12/11.

I think we are planning to go the 12-16. DDs bday is the 15th. She's turning 10!!!!!!

Yup, yup, yup!
I almost fell through the floor last week when same said husband suggested our December trip. I even teared up. When I asked why later he said becasue he knew how important it was to me.

Awwwwww that's so sweet!!!!!!

Hmmm.... yes a conspriacy! That must be why I haven't seen any LGMHs either!

Don't worry, I haven't either. lol The only time I've seen them is when we had the Jan. mini meet. :) I'll be there the same weekend as the ladies trip but with the fam. not the ladies. I'm hoping to see a lot of you ladies then!!!

I don't think it is really a SNOW ball at all, it is a dust ball.... pixie style ;).
How fun, hope you have a great time!

I know unbelieveably sweet, and kind of romantic.

Sigh. Good to know there are still some good men left in the world.....though they are certainly not living anywhere near where I am, but still.....A good man who will enable and indulge one's DSE problem is the PERFECT CATCH!!!:lmao:

It's funny but I had my perfect man in mind. I wanted to marry like my Grandpa and I wasn't settling for less. I was 30 years old when we got married. He is well worth the wait.

Sounds like it. Better to hold out for the right one than jump into something with the wrong one and regret it later.....although who hasn't done that once or twice in life?:lmao:

I have the worst luck in finding guys who are indulgent with the Disney thing. Most of them hate DLR or barely tolerate it. I need someone to feed my addiction and help it grow! I need someone to push that Disney Snowball towards me and make sure it catches me!! DSE all the way!! Woo hoo!!:cool1: :cool1:

Oh I indulge his bicycle racing and he indulges my Disneyland. It works out real well for both of us.

Sherry, I got one of those good ones, too! Not only does he indulge the Dis and DLR, but he is occasionally on the boards. His moniker is CanuckDuck. He doesn't get to post much because of work and such. I get more time during schooling breaks and after the kids are in bed. The good ones are far and few between, but they are out there. I had to wait until mine moved to the states, but we've been together for 13 yrs.

Oh yuck! I hope you are feeling better now. Ya, the rain was wild...

I am finally beginning to get back to normal. I don't like to go to the doctor. I am a lab tech on hiatus for homeschooling, so go figure. Anyway, I let it go too long this time. When I finally broke down and went to the urgent care clinic, the doctor thought that the usual Zpak (5 day dose) might not be enough. Yeah!!! I get a 10-day regimen!!! It is starting to work, though. That rain was more than I expected. It reminded me of the rain in the mid west that we had last spring. It just would not let up! That's okay because it gave the kids the opportunity to do what they wanted. Muppets four times during the trip. We got to see Aladdin and LOVED it. I videotaped it, so the kids are still enjoying it. Their new favorite restaurant is Village Haus. They love to eat inside! My dd who has a piercing scream won the scream contest one day, so they rode Monsters way too many times to count. 2319!!!! Have you seen the hidden Mickey on Sulley's thigh? It was still a GREAT trip!!! I just took home an unwanted souvie!!! Have fun on your next trip!!! I will be unpacking that weekend. :upsidedow Maybe we can meet in Sept. if you have a trip then.

I think I have seen CanuckDuck once or twice on DIS. I am glad to know you found a good one too, who indulges the DSE.

By the way, I have had that Z-pak several times in my life when my tonsils were acting up or I had some other respiratory thing, and it is a powerful little 5-day punch! However, there was one time I almost had to go on a 10-day regimen too (I got better just in time), and I know the doctors only recommend that when people are really, really sick or resistant to drugs!!

I loved Aladdin too - I am so glad I took the advice of some DIS'ers and saw it....and now I know I have to pay more attention to Sully's thigh on the next trip!! Which thigh is it? His left thigh or right thigh?:lmao:

Sherry, dd (9) is the one who pointed the hidden Mickey out. She reads the hidden Mickey book and all the trivia books she can get her hands on. The Mickey is at a really bad spot to get a pic of, but I did the best I could with sports mode. It is the last time you see Sulley, and it is on the thigh facing the vehicles, but it is most easily seen backwards.

As for men supporting the DSE syndrome, I think it helps to hit Daddies where it hurts. DL has hit the only soft spot my Dh has.....his kids! It was so much fun for us to watch how much the kids enjoyed themselves, that I am sure is the only reason he is willing to go back. That special, magical family time is a big pull for some people, and I think lots of daddies (like ours) have to spend a lot of time away from their families at work. :sad2: So, for my dh, at least, it is a time he can unplug and just concentrate on his kids. Disney magic :wizard: works on different people different ways!

And it doesn't hurt that I have trained the children - even our DD, who is only 2 and quite tiny and cute, tells Daddy daily how she has to go to DL again so Tinkerbell can teach her to fly and she can hug a "weal Pincess!" It's not exactly blackmail....:rolleyes1 but I will do whatever it takes to support my family's new 'habit'!:upsidedow

It's the DSE Syndrome: Disney Snowball Effect.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I never heard this before, but oh so true! We've got three planned and I haven't finished my TR from our September DFTW vow renewal. We're going to WDW (AKV, our new home) in May, then DLR in August (GC, our very first DL trip) then back to WDW in January for marathon weekend. Boy this is scary, we use to go to disney every five years or so, lol. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

As I was saying over in Kaoden39's TR thread.........:

"Welcome to Disney Snowball Effect AnonyMOUSE.....where we support your addiction and NOT your recovery...."

I actually think I can see a little bit of the Hidden Mickey shape on Sully's thigh, even though it is hard to spot at that angle. But now I have to make a point of looking again next time I go on that ride. You know, after rumors of a hidden Davy Jones and a Goofy head-shaped rock on the POTC ride, I was pleased with myself that I at least spotted the Goofy rock (couldn't find the hidden Davy Jones, though), but my friend and I could not establish if that was a rock intentionally meant to resemble Goofy's hat/head or if it was accidental. It doesn't look enough like it for me to be convinced that it was intended to be a Goofy rock, but Disney is so sneaky and, in some cases, subtle, that you just never know. So I get to the point where I start thinking I see hidden Mickeys in everything from rocks to potatoes to plantlife, and probably miss a lot of the actual, genuine hidden Mickeys!

That's it! Train them in the DSE while they are young and they can use their cuteness to charm Daddy into another DLR trip!! But at least Daddy has fun and enjoys the family time and isn't miserable at DLR. Have you ever been to DLR with somenne who was just miserable and complaining about everythng and clearly not having a good time? That is a real downer because it drags everyone down. It is better when they can at least get in the spirit and find things to enjoy.
