I can't believe that I did this.

I think that I gave a bag of garbage to Good Will! :scared1:

I was going through a bunch of bins getting out winter clothes and putting away summer. I had a few bags of things things that my youngest had out-grown that were going to Good Will, a bag of misc household items for Good Will, 2 bags for my sister (too big for my youngest) and a bag of garbage (mostly broken items, old clothes with holes or stains...).

I had DH help me put the bags into the car. When I got to Good Will, they asked me to stay in the car and emptied the trunk for me so I don't know how many bags were actually in there.

When I went to get the garbage ready for today's pick-up, I'm missing the bag of garbage from the loft. I looked everywhere and can't find it. All that I can think is that it got put in the trunk and ended up at Good Will.

I'm sure it's not the first time that they've gotten junk but I'm still embarrassed.

:rotfl: Too funny. Can you imagine what they thought? Bless your heart, it truly is the thought that counts.

Honest mistake.. You were doing a "good" thing, so don't beat yourself up over it.. :goodvibes

:lmao: Sounds like something I would do! Don't worry about it...it sounds like they are getting a few bags of great stuff from you as well.

:lmao:

I can imagine myself flaking out and doing something like this. Thanks for the laugh (we sure need it today!).

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I can only laugh because it's someone else. If I had done it, I'd be so horror-struck that I would find another place to donate my clothes.

But my mom was that way, too. One time, instead of asking for a "Sicilian" pizza over the phone, she asked for a "caesarean". The guy told her that they don't do that kind of thing there. She never went back to that pizzaria again!

Happy Friday!

Be sure to include the value of your garbage when you write off your donation on your taxes......:rotfl:

It could be worse -- you could have given them the kitchen garbage:scared: :scared1: ! Seriously, though, they get bags like that all the time. I used to work at our church's "Attic Treasures" table at our fair, and you would not believe some of the stuff we got!

That is so funny! I would have called just to make sure!!

Infact, I dropped a bag that was sitting in my trunk for 4 months. I wonder if I should have checked it to make sure nothing got in it?!:goodvibes

If it is any consolation, I gave an open jar of peanut butter to the school food drive last year! Imagine my horror when I went to get the pb for sanwiches and all we had were unopened jars. DS claimed he looked through the food donations for our pb but couldn't find it.

you know what, if they acually sell the garbage, i bet someone will walk by it and say, "Hey! That would be PERFECT for my Halloween costume this year!!"
