Woohoo!!!! Indeed I hope you have one too
One day. Whenever I get a annual pass it will be for Disneyland, my home park. Not the right time, but I am all for rejoicing with those who can. I just expect pics and trip reports!![]()
congrats....
I had a similar feeling the first time I got it also![]()
Cool new avatar!!Thanks Brian doesn't it feel good that you are an annual pass holder to the best place in the world?
Awesome! We were thrilled when we got one again last year after many years of not having them. And we just renewed before the podcast cruise.
So when you are you going to use them?
I get a couple of weeks of vacation so I'm planning when I take a cruise out of Florida or when avatar land opens to maximize it. It pays for itself imo
Exactly. Last year buying an AP was a no-brainer because we had 3 trips planned within the year. Renewing it this year was a lot less clear. We were going for a couple of days before the cruise and a week in January but that is not quite enough to justify it. Though when you factor in the parking and discounts it comes close. So I'm sure we will find one other time to get down there. The down side to getting an AP... going "that one extra time".
Add DVC to it and next thing you know you're going 6+ times per year. The down side to getting an AP... going "that one extra time".
Well that won't ever happen. It is far cheaper to go the way we do it. We're heading back next month in a 3-bedroom house for $68/night. DVC can't compete with that. The annual fee alone is more.Add DVC to it and next thing you know you're going 6+ times per year.
I can't really explain why, but on our most recent visit 2 weeks ago, I had this overwhelming sense of gratitude when I stepped onto Main Street. Even though I've done that dozens of times, something clicked this time and I just felt so incredibly blessed to be able to do that. So I wouldn't say it is a status thing but something much deeper than that.Congratulations!
The first time I stepped into the parks as an adult I had that same feeling. I was the little kid who grew up with nothing and a mama who so desperately wanted to take her kiddos. Sadly dentists and illness always seemed to eat away the disney pot ever year so we never got to go. I went with school at 16 to Disneyland for one day and sobbed all night the night before (my mom had passed 6 months prior) and then as an adult watching wishes on Main Street I cried again just knowing how much it took to get there. Now I'm an AP and it was the same exact feeling. It is interesting how much of a status it is to some of us.
