I can't believe it...(Wishes Cruise)

We are flying in on August 31st and staying at WL until the 9th. I had ressies for us (me, DH and DD13) to do the surfing class on Sept. 2nd. Well, DH and daughter were having second thoughts (I was already on my 9th and 10th thoughts... ) so we decided to cancel. So after I cancelled I took a shot at a Wishes cruise. Can you believe I got everything I wanted...date and departing location!! So does this mean that the crowds are going to be low or what!! We are celebrating our anniversary on the 2nd and my birthday on the 7th and this sounds way better than surfing!! Let's see....Get up at the crack of dawn to get to TL, spend 2 hours or major arm paddling and falling like crazy and having sore arms for the rest of the week ...or kick back in a pontoon (just the 3 of us..well 4 with the captain) with drinks, snacks, sandwiches and enjoy a private showing of Wishes (which we have never seen). I know which one I would take (and did!! ) Very excited now!!

Sounds like fate to me!!!! Happy anniversary & Happy Birthday!!! Could you bring (or drop some not so subtle hints) and have a cake on your cruise? Candles and all? sounds romantic to me!

my DH would think about setting up a surprise for this trip (like a cake or candles), after all one only turns 40 once ! Alas, I am the disnut of the family and therefore DH and DD leave all the planning to me and expect a great trip (which I always provide thanks to everyone here at the DIS) I didn't even note any of these celebrations on our resort ressie - WL for the first time. Maybe I will send a friendly fax confirming room requests and mention it in the fax. That would also be a way to find out if they really are or aren't reading the faxes guests are sending. Regardless, I know I will have a great time. I am soooo ready for vacation. Thanks all!

Good for you!!! I hope your luck wears off on me. We're hoping to book a cruise on our Dec. stay for the 11 of us (one child). I know it will be cold, but who cares!

but they also depart from any of the Magic Kingdom resort marinas. They can be booked 90 in advance by calling 407-WDW-PLAY. There is some good info in the Illuminations thread on this board also. Sorry, I don't know how to put a link here. Good luck!
