I can't be the only one with this problem!

Ever since the server came back on, I have had trouble with everything loading. It took a full minute just for this new thread form to load so I can ask a question. Everything is REALLY slow compared to before and even though I am not on a T-1, I have DSL and my DSLAM is right in the back yard and I get consistent 1 M/sec downloads. I know this can't be me, but on the off chance it is, can anyone tell me how to do it? I mean, I stop threads and boards from completely downlaoding the pix because it takes soooooo long.

I believe that part of the problem you are seeing will fix itself in time. Many of the images that display on each page are on different sites than the boards themselves, just like the images used in many of the signatures. Many of these images are hosted on the DIS Web pages that many people get and so are the generic images (like the message board title images) that load on every page.

When the servers that host these images are having problems or are down IE will try for a certain amount of time on each and every image before it gives up and moves to the next image. If there are a lot of such images on a page it could take a long time for each one to time out. As these web pages come back online, I think you will find that things will be back to a more normal speed for you.
