Ok so...ever since my friend directed me to this message board, I cannot stop checking for new posts and reading older ones hour after hour..day after day.

My husband and I are planning our first trip to WDW in September and I gotta tell you..I feel sickly addicted. I've been to WDW once..about 15 years ago, and he is a San Diego born Disneyland lover since birth.

We made our reservations last weekend and since then, well before actually, I have been glued to this thing!!! It's seriously effecting my sleep and my ability to work from home. :) HELP! Will this stop anytime soon? I'm constantly trying to make sure we get all the info we can before we go FOUR months from now..LOL!

Am I going to be this way until September? Break it to me gently..

OH, btw..we are still newlyweds (2 yrs in August) and this will be our first real vacation together aside from the trips to visit family in California. Maybe that adds something to the excitement? Maybe the fact that he has never been to WDW and I am excited to be with him and share that experience is another reason. I'm neurotic..thank you Disney!!

HI

Oh yes you will be here at least once a day until you go! :thumbsup2 It will take over your life completely :lmao: You will post while you are there and when you will come back and it will be the first thing you do when you return.

Welcome to the madness! :lmao: :cool1:

I'm sorry, but I have to agree-- it's entirely normal!!

This may help your planning a bit: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1715551

One more big thing: are you going during free dining? Or are you planning any table service meals at all?? If the answer to either question is yes, then your next job, and you need to do it right away, is to make your ADRs (Advanced Dining Reservations.) Spend a while looking at the dining options, then call and see what you can get. You may have to be a bit flexible with your choices and times-- maybe some late dinners or even late lunches as the main meal of the day. But do them ASAP, and then look into everything else.
If you click the "dining" tab at the top of the page you can get some ideas.
Happy planning!!!

You will havr the time of your life, just relax, slow down and enjoy all there is. Its so big, you'll never see or do it all. That's what return trips are for. We'll be there, the end of August, beginning of September, 41 trips, and still counting, gets better and better with every trip. Don't let this board overwhelm you, alot of info that has to be sorted into what relevant and whats not. We do spend a lot of time at the resort, WL, love taking walks and exploring outside the parks but we're experienced. Hope you have a super magical trip and a safe one.

Normal, Normal, Normal. Even if you don't post, if you are like some of us you will spend much time reading on these boards because you cannot go to WDW so this is how you will get your Disney fix - vicariously living through the vacations of others. Most years we go camping in the mountains, really roughing it in the backcountry - this year we don't even get to do that, so I will really be living the vida loca through all the posts here. Thanks to everyone who posts so that I and probably many others can do that. :worship:

yes, you will soon become addicted like some of us... :flower3:

Pretty soon the laundry will start piling up, cobwebs forming in corners, dishes overflowing in the sink.... but hey... you will have ALOT of helpful Disney information:rotfl2:

Entirely normal - I've been coming to this site since the late 90's and I'm still here! Even when I don't have a trip planned or its a LONG time away (like now). This place is like home. There is something here for everyone including stuff that's not about Disney. One of my favorite sections is WISH (We are Inspired to Stay Healthy)!!!

Look everyone we caught a new one!:surfweb: :grouphug:

Hummmm, wonder if they bring back a souviner that takes about 9 months to arrive? lol

Welcome :thumbsup2

Yes you are experiencing a normal thing
you will become addicted and even after your trip you will find yourself here reading and waiting till it is time to plan another trip :teeth:

Look around , enjoy the other forums and if you have a question just ask:)

OMG! We are all in the same boat & it is totally normal.;) Welcome to this wonderful world we like to call our virtual home. I am sure you will be here just as much after you trip. Every day we all need a Disney fix. Have a great time and tell us all about it when you return.

Hola Manda Bean, at least you're in the same country as WDW!

I will hopefully be going towards Christmas of 2009, which will be the first time with my kids who are currently 2 years old, and have recently become addicted as well... First of all it started with the podcasts, then the blogs, now DIS...

All in all, it's an addiction of the good sort :woohoo:

WELCOME!!

Entirely normal. And then, after you go, you'll be right back to figure out more stuff for the next time. And you'll have people anxious to read your trip report and see your photos!

This is my "lucky" 500th post since joining in Oct and this board is definitely an addiction. It's a wonderful place to meet other "Disney Freaks" (as I've been called:rotfl2: ) learn about new things if you're a dis-vet and share what you know with others to make their trips to the world even better! I've already emptied out the green Mickey heads from our local HD in anticipation for my August trip. This is a place where we can all hang out...free from those "mouse-dissers" :lmao:
Yes, yes....I DO need therapy! I come to these boards every day....MUCH cheaper than a therapist! :rotfl:

Pretty soon the laundry will start piling up, cobwebs forming in corners, dishes overflowing in the sink.... but hey... you will have ALOT of helpful Disney information:rotfl2:

Hey, have you been to my house....because you have described it exactly! LOL!!! :lmao:

WOW someone else who knows exactly how i feel---- 40 th trip in Sept and i count the minutes in fact it's the highlight of each day each year-- so WELCOME & ENJOY :goodvibes

Hey guys!! Good to know this is normal. :)

We booked our ADR's at the same time as our room/park tickets, so whew..that is out of the way! There just always seem to be something else that I need more info on or pictures I must see of something/place.

Here's to 4 months and longer!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

But seriously.......welcome aboard :surfweb:. But keep in mind.....it will NOT get any better......the addiction just seems to get worse as the days go by . One of my friends directed me to the Dis about a year and a half ago and I have been hooked ever since :rolleyes1. I lurked for a long time and just started posting about a month and a half to 2 months ago.....and now here I am about 400 posts later :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:. So I hope you have a very understanding hubby :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (mine thinks I'm totally nuts :rotfl2: :rotfl2:). But the Dis IS exciting and you get great tips.....so enjoy and post away :dance3:.
