This is why I have not seen a fireworks show at Disney since I was a kid. I'm 58 and this is on my bucket list.
so I'm gonna do it this time around.

what are my options? I will be traveling solo. I can't sit on the ground as I cannot get back up. I don't know if one of these reserved dinner/fireworks events will reserve a table to a solo traveler. is there a safe place to park an ECV and hang out?

I had an ECV on our last trip bc I was healing from a sprained ankle and I for the parades/fireworks I went to the ECV parking space about an hour before they started and just hung out. They aren't very big spots so they do fill up fast but it was fun bc there was a lot of people to talk with while we were waiting for it to start. Now we are planning a trip for 2017 and my back is extremely bad...I can't stand for prolong periods of time and sometimes my legs just kind of give out on me. I might need back surgery so I am told. I am telling everyone as long as it doesn't mess with my disney trip I am ok with it, LOL. I have already reserved the ECV bc I figure if I need back surgery I am going to need an ECV and if I don't have the back surgery I am going to need an ECV so I am screwed either way. Just 1 trip to Disney I would like to be able to walk around! Its very frustrating! Anyways I feel your pain...I use to be able to sit on the ground and now its just painful and standing is just unbearable and sometimes sitting too long can hurt just as much too! Its like a no win situation! Anyways sorry for my rant I am just very frustrated, lol...anyways like I said before as long as you get there I would say probably about at least 45 minutes a head you should be fine to park your ECV. I am just OCD so I arrive way early to everything, lol

Stake out a spot early for the fireworks. You can always ask a CM if the spot is appropriate to park in, especially since walkways are different between fireworks and nighttime parades. Just plan to hang out for a while, since the good spots fill up early.

Check with guest relations (CM,,Castmember) for areas where fireworks viewing is available to guest with DISabilities,,
Perhaps someone will post the current available locations for the 4 parks.

1)The Wishes Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom is an option--you can book this solo,you can remain in your ECV or sit in a chair at a table.
and
2)Illuminations Sparking Dessert Party, EPCOT is also another option,,,,you can book this solo.,,no chairs but prefered reserved area --remain in ECV
and
3) Galactic Spectacular Fireworks dessert party at Disney Hollywood Studios is also another option,,,you can book this solo ,,,no chairs but prefered area --remain in ECV.

4) Ferrytale Dessert Fireworks Cruise,,,you can book this solo.,,,not alot of seating (no table and chairs set up).
ECV can be accommodated.

I second the recommendation that you ask a CM about a spot.

In fact, last time I was there, I must have looked pretty frustrated. A CM walked up to me and asked where I was headed. I told her, "out the gate."

After finding out I did in fact want to watch the fireworks, but I was sure I would never find a place to be, she very kindly showed me where to go.

I got to see the fireworks. It was wonderful.

This post makes me sad. You have the same rights as every other guest in the park! You absolutely can book a special fireworks event just for yourself.

As others have said, they always have special viewing areas for the disabled for parades and fireworks. However, you don't have to sit there. You can park your ECV anywhere anyone else can stand. If you choose to do this, I second the advice to enlist the help of a CM to find a good spot for you. In many instances, a CM will see you and offer help without even being asked.

There are handicapped viewing areas for parades, but not for fireworks. The exception is Illuminations at Epcot, but for Illuminations, you can park anywhere along the fence overlooking World Showcase lagoon.
The parade viewing areas fill up quickly, so you do need to place to be there about an hour before the parade to get a spot.
Most of the parade viewing areas have nowhere to sit unless you have a mobility device like a wheelchair or ECV.

For fireworks, your best bet is to ask a CM as other posters mentioned.

The one Park that I absolutely pre plan (and pay extra) for fireworks viewing is Magic Kingdom.
I had such a bad experience there that I always book the Wishes Dessert Party ahead of time. Quite often I go solo. I am the last one to leave the Party and just sit and sip my tea and eat sweet treats,,,no fighting crowds for me.

I once asked a CM where I could be for the firer works ( with my disability it is hard to find a spot ) he said right here I was a little confused as the CM were telling other guest that this was a walk way but he let me stand in the walk way with him so that I had some more room ( one thing I really need) no this may not happen to you but as soon as you see tap on the ground is when I would ask and let the CM know if you plan on staying in your ECV or not so that they can suggest a spot close to the fence or something else so that people can not block your view.

I watch the fireworks from Fantasyland, off to the side that goes to Tomorrowland, by the QS stand that sells soft serve ice cream. No, you can't see the castle from there, but sitting is a high priority to me and there are lots of seats around and not so many people. And the fireworks seem to go off all around you, so it's a cool (but very loud) spot.

We had the issue of people standing in front of my daughter and blocking her view of fireworks from a wheel chair when we were in the parks last month. I finally said something to the man who kept moving back and forth in front of her, then putting one of his children up on his shoulders. She had given up trying to see around him. He was put out, but after he turned and saw her behind him he moved to the side. People just don't think!

We did have a nice spot for the MSEP in the wheelchair seating at Liberty Square.

We do this EVERY trip - and we love it so much! It's become a family tradition for us; even in the winter, we go, and bundle up in blankets (that are provided) and we laugh, and sing, and play trivia games and have so much fun! My hubby's birthday is Sept 19, which is International Talk Like A Pirate Day, so... it's pretty much mandatory for us LOL

You start at Contemporary; there's a scavenger hunt, then snacks & goodies - SO MANY GOODIES - and Pirates too! We always have the best pirates! When the time is right, everyone walks down to the docks together, and you sail the Seven Seas Lagoon with a real Pirate!

Our daughter is all grown up now, but I love to watch the little nuggets on this adventure - they have so much fun trying to win pirate "loot" LOL

When it's time for fireworks, the boat will cruise right in front of the Castle. The same audio that is played in the park is piped in to the boat. It's truly magical, to sit there on the water, and watch those fireworks. Never gets old.

This is a great experience - for any guest of any age, and any number of people. It's like Hoop Dee Doo; it's just great Disney-style fun!

Also, there were very few tables and they were high, so it's not like the OP could simply stake out at spot. With a friend, maybe, but solo on wheels I'd worry that parts of it could get really frustrating.

In Epcot I've used the Handicap viewing area's twice and the one I've used is pretty much just outside of Italy towards Germany. The CM's rope it off for handicap and you just go to the rope and they let you in.
