I CANNOT believe this just happened!!!!

In the central plaza north north east a player by the name of (name edited )was dictionary dancing and asking about drugs, drinking, and then asked me to " do it". i tried to report it and call for help but VMK closed before it went through. I know this cant always be prevented but what was so alarming was that VMK_Mocha was in the same room while this going on and did NOTHING about it.The room was also filled with CLs but they were spending more time trying to amuse and dance for VMK_Mocha than paying attention to anything else I recieved a 2 hour ban a while back for saying far less than this in a private room with noone around, yet this was allowed to go on right in front of a VMK staffs face? It makes me question not only the standards and safety issues of VMK but also the effectiveness of The CL program. I am glad it was me and NOT my daughter online .



The above is a copy of the letter i sent to the black hole and have every intention of forwarding to Disney in teh morning . Sorry for the rant but i was in utter disbelief of this

Grumpy, I know exactly what you mean. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the way reporting happens. While I applaude VMK for the cool holiday stuff, I really have to wonder what they are thinking about the basics of keeping the game safe.

If you sent this into Paul Yanover (not yavn), VMK_Mocha and some of the community leaders in question would be let go. There is absolutely no excuse for this kind of behavior and I wouldn't heisitate to send it to him. I've already had to send him something one time and he took care of it VERY quickly.

Dear Mr. Yanover,



First off let me start by saying Thank You to you and your staff for creating and maintaining VMK. I have been playing since its inception and normally have no issues or problems with the way things are handled. In fact I felt it was safe enough to even allow my 10 year old daughter to start playing with her own character. The game has certainly increased our interest in all things Disney, including the purchase of 9 Disney movies so we could both earn the VMK prizes, the purchase of several of the VMK crossover mystery pirate pins, and purchases from Disney Pin Auctions while we were on EBay earning codes for VMK.



With that being said, I encountered a problem last night that makes me question both mine and my daughter’s decision to play VMK and the staffs commitment to protecting children’s safety. Below is a copy of a message I sent to the “Contact Us” section of the VMK homepage. Normally, any issues I have are handled through there, but I felt this concern certainly warrants your attention.

Sorry to hear about that. But I just want to state something. While the staff may have been in the room, please note that she may be multi-tasking to handle issues that are reported and not necessiarly reading what is going on in the room.

You have to figure they need to moderate and handle alot of report requests. So I think if VMK_Mocha was there physically in the room, she may have been working on resolving other issues, which took her away from the ability to read what was going on in the room. As for the CL's, I know some great CL's who are there when I need their support - their cause is to help keep VMK clean. A few other CL's - just there clearly for the title, which stinks, because I know a few people who have wanted that title and have been denied.

Even if a VMK staffer is in the room, they are doing a job - not necessiarily watching the room they are in, but others as well. So that is why we need to report. Albeit, you did not have time, but if you reported what you saw and stated - this is going on with staff in the room, trust me it would have been taken care of.

Well done with the praise and comments on your purchasing power (I mean come on, we all know VMK is about making Disney Money, and any company listens first with their pocketbook). Yes, and your problems very nicely stated.

I myself find it so very sad when this sort of thing happens in VMK. I'm terribly interested in what happens next, do please keep us informed.

P.S. Forgive my ignorance, but who is Paul Yanover? I guess by the context of the above he's a big-shot in Disney and/or in the VMK World and/or Yavn's Boss. Can anyone tell me more specifically? Thanks.

Ty Cat. I dont want anyone to lose their job, but i do want VMK staff to take their jobs seriously and not enforce the rules only when they feel like it. I also hope that maybe VMK will rethink the CL policy but that is a whole other can o worms

Yes Paul Yanover is Yavn's boss. The VMK hierarchy is listed in Mal's player Guide as well as some contact info. AGain a great job in putting that together Mal!! It saved the day once again

I can't believe staff and CLs were there and did nothing about it. If I were a CL and was there I would have at least spoken up and warned the girl and then told VMK_Mocha. But these guys just danced and hung out while having a cup of coffee. . well let's just say mocha. I don't think they should be let go though. That's kind of harsh. But they should warn them and then next time if the same thing happens again, they could let them go.

I'm not sure how much would have happened even if you had been able to get the report sent before VMK closed. I reported another player yesterday with the call for help button, and when I was given the message that call for help is for emergencies only, I used call for help to ask what was considered an emergency and this is the responce I got:

It doesn't seem like VMK wants us to report in game much of what happens, and with the way the lower case letter l and capital I look alot alike, it can be difficult to copy down a VMK title correctly and report players through contact us. So we are supposed to really work to report serious breaks in VMK values to staff using the black hole, when I thought yavn has stated that we should report when we see problems in VMK? Something seems a bit wrong here.
