I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

I hang my head in shame. :sad1:

Please forgive my mentioning the unmentionable that I mentioned in the previously mentioned post.

:rolleyes1

Teri-------- do they have grass in Michigan that could be found to eat under all that snow? Perhaps you have nothing to fear.............;)

Shelly-------- um what did we decide to do about the Photopass? I don't remember? I think we decided that since we would be sweaty.... er... glistening ::yes:: from the sweat.... er.... water droplets ::yes:: on our upper lip and about our heads we would refrain from having our picture taken for posterity's sake.

yes, I admit it--- I am on a caffeine high.

One migraine
+ two excedrins
+ a diet Dr Pepper
= watch out, Jo's on the loose.

Haaaaaaaay.

:rotfl: I never thought about that! I can rest easy now. We would all be singing a different song down here if Tennessee hadn't had 12 men on the field! Never a dull moment in T'Town. :upsidedow

Shelly, I think you and Jo will be fine if you just have your Photopass pics taken as soon as you get in the park. Of course, in the summer I feel like I'm melting as soon as I step foot out the door. So you might want to have the photog meet you in the lobby of the Poly!

Hi Shelly! :wave2: I'm all caught up on your TR. I was way back on page 17! :faint: Mmmm, Tonga Toast. It sounds like you had a wonderfully relaxing trip. I keep hoping that someday we'll go to WDW often enough to slow down and relax a bit!

Hooray for your upcoming trip! The split stay sounds like the best of both worlds. We stayed at the Poly a looooong time ago--we're talking early-to-mid 70s, when WDW and I were both young!--and I'd love to stay there again someday. :cloud9:

Oooh- like a papa-papa-paparazzi! ::yes::

T*--- ahhh, today is the day. Well if it comes to that, then he wasn't good enough for you anyway.:snooty:

Shelly-- I think you're right- we never did come to a decision!:upsidedow We'll think about it for a bit more. It would be nice to have a pic of the fam if we weren't sweating like pigs. :flower3:

Every year, I vow to have a Dole Whip and haven't done it yet. Every time I see a picture it makes me want to try one even more.

Lisa you've never had a Dole Whip Float. Wow you really really should.

Warm PB really. Hmm that doesn't sound good.

oh warm melted pb is the best, I love pb toast but my favorite is pb on pancakes .....imagine my surprise when I was at ihop and asked for pb for my pancakes and was told they had none? :scared1: How could a restaurant not have pb? :rotfl:

Can you see me asking the photographers at the park if we can step inside into the AC because the humidity is making my hair frizzy?! :scared1::lmao:

Hey Kathy  Glad you're all caught up. I definitely recommend taking WDW at a slower pace, it makes for a much better trip! :goodvibes

When WDW and you were both young :rotfl2: Well, the Poly and myself are both old and now I'm finally getting to stay there!! :rotfl:

Yeah, we need to give the photopass some more thought. . . :confused3

I hate the thought of being all sweaty already! But I love my family pictures. ::yes::

Finally, someone who sees things my way!!!

Sorry I haven't been on for a few days. I tend to Dis at work more than at home (shh....don't tell!!), and I was off sick  all last week with a nasty head cold that I think turned into a sinus infection. But I'm better now!!

I love this picture - I think my favourite part is the Mickey balloon over your DH's left shoulder. It looks almost on purpose! So fun! :yay:

Glad to see you've decided on a travel time and a resort. I think I have too!! I had a trip booked for October of 2010, then later had to cancel. :sad2: Of course I already had my plane tickets booked, so I now have a credit with Delta I need to use before June. So I started thinking...

Maybe New York - shopping, restaurants, museums, Broadway! But nope, don't want to do those solo. Then I got a PIN for early spring dates that was 5% better than the GP offer. time!! So I'm now booked at Pop for April 7-12. Now, of course, I'm thinking I want to change it to All-Star Music, in the Broadway section, so I can at least get a bit of New York (Disney-style)! I guess it's time for me to get a new ticker :cool1:

Also - I double-checked the Tonga Toast recipe. Spoiler alert - they call for a quart of oil to cook it in. Pleading my Canadianness, I checked the conversion - OMG that's a litre!! Anyhow - grab your :banana: and your sourdough bread - I'll get that recipe up tonight! :thumbsup2

When we got back to the BWI we stopped for a quick picture here and then went up to the room.

We noticed that the Characters In Flight balloon was running for once, we could see it from our balcony!

Looking back we probably should have hopped on the bus to DTD and rode the hot air balloon. That was about the only day it ran while we were there. The rest of the time it was too windy. But we decided to just take it easy for a bit. Well, the boys did. I set out to explore! I wanted to see just what was down there in that area we could see from our balcony. So I took the elevator to the 2nd floor and went out the back doors.

I could see our balcony and we had the door open so I called DH & the kids and told them to come out!

DS11 took a few pics of me with his camera.

And then I was off on my little tour. It was nice and peaceful and quiet!!

I even found the BWI quiet pool on my walk.

And I finally made my way back around to where I had started.

Then I went back inside. This is from right inside that staircase. It is also where the elevator stops on the 2nd/lobby floor.

I walked towards the lobby. This is the Bell Vue Lounge.

On the way to the lobby.

Some rocking chairs on the giant balcony off the lobby.

I hope you are feeling better. I had a nasty cold and sinus infection over Christmas break. :sad2:

I noticed that Mickey balloon in the picture too and thought it was pretty cool! Too bad about the crane also being in there. :upsidedow

Congrats on your spring trip! :cool1: Sounds like fun!!

I want to get to NYC one day too. I'm just waiting for the boys to get a little older so they can enjoy & appreciate it more.

Okay, get ready everyone -- it's Tonga Toast time!!

Mmmm...Dole whips!!! I'm not a huge fan of the float, but I love the pineapple soft serve. Madison always gets a vanilla soft serve and my DH has tried some of the swirls on our last few trips. I have a picture of my dole whip on my phone and whenever I look at it, it makes me wish I was at Aloha Isle.

Great photo shoot of the BWI! Everything is gorgeous!

How fun to go explore the resort. That is something I haven't made enough time to do. :) I have to remember to do so! The BWI is really pretty!

That's a good idea -- I will have to take a Dole Whip picture on my phone next time! :thumbsup2

I had a nice little walk. :goodvibes It was nice to have a few minutes to myself and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Do we need to break out this creepy bad boy to remind people that talk of certain foods served warm is not allowed and just plain gross???

:dancer:

Glad you finally went to TSI but I can't believe you missed the fort! It was my kid's favorite part, that and the bouncy barrel bridge of course!

Great photopass and unintentional front seat parade pics :goodvibes

*sigh* and your Dole Whip pics were torture :cloud9:

The pictures of your "exploration" of the resort are beautiful. Glad that you decided to go out and have a look around.

Well that guy is enough to scare away the unmentionable warm food. :rotfl2:

I can't believe we missed the fort on TSI either. :confused3 I feel like such a dummy!

I know, I tortured myself by posting the Dole Whip pics. :upsidedow

Thanks Lisa! :goodvibes I just can't sit still in the hotel room and had to go do something!!

The BWI pics are beautiful! Did you stop and sit in the rocking chairs there on the giant balcony?
They looked so inviting!!:lovestruc

I wish you had've been able to ride the balloon, but I know it was relaxing having a few minutes to yourself in such a wonderful, beautiful place.:cloud9:

Did you ever see or hear your balcony neighbors????????

Great update. Looking forward to the campfire sing along.
Or no singing as it were.:lmao:

Kim------- Disco Dale should be banned to the same place as the unmentionbles.:rotfl2:

Pretty pictures around the BWI!! I might have to add that to the list...I'll be staying at the Villas, but still! ;)

psst - I started my PTR

Thanks! :goodvibes I didn't stop and sit in the rocking chairs that afternoon. But we did stop and sit there for awhile one other day. :lovestruc

I've been trying to ride that dang hot air balloon the last 2 trips, but every time we are at DTD it's 'too windy'.

We did see/hear our balcony neighbors to the right one night when we were watching IllumiNations. And then we heard the ones to the left once but never saw them.

Thanks! :) I bet the BW Villas are great too!

YAY - another PTR! :cool1:

All caught up again... you are a fast updater! :thumbsup2

I can't believe you missed the fort at TSI! I don't know how we managed to find it, but DS7 had a blast exploring & shooting at BTMRR, which happened to be where DH & DS10 were!

I WILL HAVE A DOLE WHIP FLOAT IN JANUARY OR MARCH!!! I can't believe I've never had one, but I have to end that immediately!!

We explored that little area at BWI too - we took a little time on our last morning in October to check it out. It's so beautiful & quiet down there.
