WHO in their right mind would ever pay that much for a fanny pack?????

Edited to correct the price I typed. Should have been who would pay $38 for a fanny pack??

So sorry if anyone was offended for paying that much.

Ok, well maybe I am misunderstanding this post:confused: I am assuming that this is being posted in regards to another thread on this board. My first thought is to say to each his/her own. That is no one else's business except for the person who purchases the fanny pack. Well that is unless of course they asked for your opinion about it. Again, I apologize if I misunderstood something here. I guess that the jury is still out about whether I am in my right mind or not  but if the item was what I was looking for and was good quality then I would certainly pay that price for it. I have spent more money buying cheaper versions of certain items that end up tearing up or wearing out then have to be replaced than I would have spent if I had just bought a better quality item to begin with. I am not saying that is the case with everything but I have found that to be true quite often.

I agree, KNBNESMOM. As stated in another thread, we have a moderately expensive pack from Swiss Army, which we love. We also use it for snowshoeing, birdwatching, etc., so it was worth the investment for us. My b-i-l bought the same one because we liked ours so much, but he hates it - has switched to a $25 pack from Eddie Bauer, which his wife won't wear - she uses an Eagle Creek shoulder bag. The most important thing is finding a pack that fits your body, your "gear" needs and your budget.

Sheila-

Are we going to start acting like 12 year olds?

I think it's time to grow up a bit.........

oh- and for those of you who thought this was about another post your right- it was......Sheila was so nice to inform me that the water bottles would be WAY to heavy to carry in a pack designed for it...........however-Sheila, maybe you should have paid a bit more for your pack, it more than likely would have worked better.

 anyone on this board (me included) would be silly to chide another for spending too much money on something - Disney = $$$

and to answer the question, I don't think that is too much to pay at all...you get what you pay for.

doubt it:rolleyes:

I also never said I bought a "cheap one"

Was this in reference to your purchase?? No it was not. I read about some folks buying expensive fanny packs on another website and I was referring to them. But... I guess if you saw yourself in the post I guess that says alot!!! I did not know you had to have a reason to post remarks here and were not allowed to post observations about people that have nothing to do with this site. Must be new rules.

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

I've spent more than $39 for a 'name-brand' fanny pack as a gift. There's a market for them out there or else people wouldn't be making them. It was important for me to get a nice gift for a person and I thought this was something they would use, so, why not? That being said, though, there are other things that other people would spend a lot on (V&A's, for example) that I probably would not do. The regular restaurants at Disney are expensive enough for me! :p

To each their own.

You are so correct!!

And I should add that I qouted the incorrect price. The price I meant to quote was 38 and I hit the wrong key. I guess I better go back and edit my original post or someone will think I am referring to them.......oops! been there done that!!!LOL!!LOL!!

What may be a lot of money for one person may not be for someone else.

There are many here that will only stay in a deluxe resort. Some will only stay in a valule. Others won't stay on site because they think it's to much to pay for a room.

What about buying food at disney? Some will eat every meal in the parks, others will won't. Who can say one is right or wrong?

What about the $2.50 bottles of water in the parks? Many people take their own water because they think that price is crazy. After paying $4.00 for water at a Mets game, I think disney's price is pretty cheap.

We all spend our money the way we see fit. No one has to answer to anyone.

So you wouldn't spend $39.00 for a fanny pack, fine. Some of us would, that's also fine.

Questions about fanny packs come up here often. I think Brandy posted the link about the one she found in order to help others.

Well my goodness you all are so correct!!!!

While I would never pay that much for a NON DISNEY fanny pack I did get a wonderful one several years ago that I paid $$$. It is one with Pooh on it and DH has one with Tigger on it. It was great for what WE needed in it. Lots of compartments for IDs,credit cards, money,a larger compartment for other stuff. And a water bottle will fit in it but I usually do not carry one in there because it gets too heavy.

It is a shame that I am getting all kinds of flack from this post when I have already stated it was NOT in reference to the "other post". I read about it on another site and came here to post because usually everyone is nicer. I guess I will just stick to W.I.S.H. where I know I am appreciated and where I am NEVER blasted for writing about something.

Do you really think any of us believe this is not absolutely directed at Brandy's original post? You are insulting everyone's intelligence. Come on.....get over it already.

Thank you to all who supported my original post, which WAS to offer help to those who ask "what type of pack do you have"...I've seen that question a lot, searched for them actually when I was researching my own..

I only hope that someone would find the info and LINK...(hint- a link to back up my statement....) usefull.

Brandy

I don't care if you believe it or not. Maybe ya'll are the ones that need to "get over it already".

So you are calling me a liar now????

:yo-yo: i want to just call you rude.... And where not all about bunch of kids that read these post and that is what you are taking us for. You really need to grow up and move on from this post. Also you need to remeber that everyone has diffrent needs and wants this pack is not for you we can tell from the 15 others posts you have about this topic. Maybe one post saying you dont like it but not a new thread about it.

And once again this post was NOT about the other post. It did bring a memory jog though. I DID read on another site about paying almost that much and I discussed it with people face to face. This was awhile back. Then I went to that site and re-read it a few days ago. I THEN came to the DIS and when I read about someone paying this much it reminded me of the other site. I had the other site on my favorites but it must be down or something because I can not access it now or I would post a link you all you folks that think you know me and what I feel or don't feel. I will state again it was NOT in reference to the DIS post. If I was going to write a post about someone paying outrageous prices for fanny packs regarding someone from the DIS then I would have made a post about the person the paid twice that amount. I think the ones doing the name calling are the rude ones. Get a life and leave me alone.

I for one would like thank you Brandy for posting about the fanny pack you purchased. Your post was clear and very informative and I appreciate you sharing your find !

I'm sorry you are going thru this. You were just trying to be helpful.

Appreciate it!

:)
