Monday 5/22 is my 180 day for ADRs. Tonight is my FINAL night to revisit these before Monday... going away with my oldest son and his school band for a band competition and won't be back to late Sunday night.

There are 5 of us... me, DH, 13, 11 & 11yo and we are NOT using DDP, and are staying at the Poly. Most ADRs will be for dinner with the exception of our leaving day, which will be breakfast.

Sat. 11/18 - arrival day - dinner Chef Mickey's
Sun. 11/19 - MK day - dinner Kona
Mon 11/20 - Typhoon Lagoon day - dinner Coral Reef
Tues - 11/21 - MK day - dinner Whispering Canyon
Wed - 11/22 - Epcot day - dinner at Le Cellier
Thurs - 11/23 - Thanksgiving - AK day - dinner HDDR (already made)
Fri - 11/24 - MGM day - dinner MM with Fantasmic package
Sat - 11/25 - leave - breakfast at 1900 Park Fare

Opinions or suggestions for changes are GREATLY appreciated.

I've been to Whispering Canyon Cafe` and Le Cellier. We LOVED Le Cellier and liked WCC. We were seated outside of the main dining room, so we didn't really see anything and the waitress didn't really "mess" with us. I ordered off of the menu, and had a wonderful meal. I didn't really think the all-you-can-eat skillet looked appetizing, so I skipped out on it. I'm glad I did. But I think you'll really enjoy those 2 places. We're eating at the Coral Reef on our upcoming trip, and looking forward to it. We're also avoiding buffets this trip. I didn't really like the food from the buffets.

I can only comment on one of the choices that you made and that is CHEF MICKEYS! We loved it. We thought the food was ok, it was nothing out of the ordinary but it was good all in all. Its a good choice for the first night.

Your choices look great! You are sure to have a wonderful time!!

However, considering you picked a sit-down restaurant for each day, I'm curious why you are not using the ddp. We have used it twice now and found it to be a great deal! It seems like it could save you money.

Lookls like good variety,

I think your choices look fantastic. You have a nice mix of fun meals and good food. :thumbsup2

Good choices :thumbsup2 We have eaten everywhere but Kona. IMHO, there is no better way to kick off a WDW visit than dinner with the main Mouse.

momof2....I have 2 11yos that would count as "adults" but would NEVER eat off the adult menu. They are more chicken fingers/spaghetti/pizza kids, and would eat off the kids menus. I even printed off the menus for every ADR I am making and told them to pick WHATEVER they wanted, each and every time they picked something off the kids menu!

I have run the numbers up and down and sideways, and the amount of money the DDP would cost us PLUS OOP, (meaning we'd pay OOP for the kids meals that we could, and use the rest for HDDR) is MORE than if we ordered as we "normally" would...entree, drink & split dessert versus app, entree, dessert & drink for everyone.

We are debating about getting an AP and the DDE, but waiting to see if an AP code comes out before I make that final decision.

Now if FREE dining shows up, then that is a totally different ball game!

Hi Do you have APs? If not, won't is cost a fair amount to get into to Epcot to go to this restaurant if you are spending most of the day at Typhoon Lagoon?

An 8 day pass isn't much more expensive than a 7 day pass. I don't have the figures in front of me but after 5 days it is only a few dollars more to add each day. She is probably planning on Typhoon Lagoon during the day (it closes probably at 5) and then going to Epcot at night.

For example, we are getting an 8 day pass even though one day we probably won't go to the parks at all. But just in case, I am spending the few dollars it costs to have eight instead of 7.

Dicecatt is exactly right!!! We are looking at getting 7 day park hoppers, since we won't go to the park on the day we are leaving. For our TL day, we'll be at the park when it opens, probably leave by 2 or 3, and can be at Epcot by 5:00. Giving us enough time to make 6pm ADRs, and some walking around time.

The difference between a 6 day park hopper and an 7 day park hopper for the 5 of us is about $20.

Awe we arrive 1 day before you at the Poly!!! I'll wear my green and we are also a group of 5. Obviously, I can make ADR's Sunday. We are hoping for AP and DDE also, if not we have AAA and will probably not do the dining plan even though it could save me a couple hundred $. I think it would be too much trouble to go from a room only AAA to the constraints of a package and dining credits. Your meals sound great!! No O'hana? Here's mine...
11/17 Kona
11/18 LTT
11/19 O'Hana
11/20 Le Cellier
11/21 Sci Fi
11/22 O'hana b/f Beaches n Cream
11/23 50's Primetime
11/24 Kona
11/25 room service breakfast

PolyAddict... you could be my TWIN with your thoughts! We have an AAA ressie as well, and I doubt we'll switch to the package. I'll be wearing my green AND my DIS shirt!!!

I'm debating about flying in on the 17th. I'm looking for a VERY late flight, but can't seem to find anything that I like. The kids are already missing 2 days of school, and I'd have to pull them out early on Friday if we decide to fly then. And that means 1 more vacation day for DH & I, so we'll see. Then I think if we fly EARLY on the 17th, we could make MVMCP, so add more $$$ to the already climbing cost of this trip!

As for 'Ohanas...we've decided to pass this year. We had a good time in 2004, and I REALLy enjoyed watching Wishes from our window seat, but the old menu really didn't do anything for my kids, and the new one doesn't do anything for me. So we are trying Kona this time.

We're (me, dh, dd8 and ds3) arriving the same day as you 11/18 and staying at CSR on the DDP!!! My dining is:

11/18 - Crystal Palace
11/19 - Kona
11/20 - Boma
11/21 - Le Cellier
11/22 - House of Blues (a must for dh)
11/23 - Breakfast at Cape May
11/23 - Whispering Canyon Cafe
11/24 - Lunch at Garden Grill and then home

Maybe we'll be at Kona at the same time :yay: . I'll be on the phone Monday making my ADRs!

01Sweetpea..The 17th is my ideal date. That may have to change to the 18th depending on the exact date my 2 older DD's get out for Thanksgving. Things are different since Katrina with school schedules. We drive down so I know we would be too exhausted for the MVMCP on the 17th plus I am not all that big on it b/c my best friend went and wasn't impressed (that's alot of $ to not be impressed). I'm with you on the mounting cost of this trip with out AP that's an extra $800 on the room(compared to last years AP rates).
