I Can Haz A Dizney Christmas? 12/15: Last Update Before the Trip

You were really worried about what to wear and who needs that! Good changes :)

I love that you are picking up ribs to take home on Christmas eve :goodvibes

Your plans look great!! I agree...if you are dreading it might as well cut it. No use stressing about your vacation! And yum on the Flame Tree ribs. :)

How far are you from WDW again? What time wil you be getting back on Christmas Eve? I am worried about logistics since Santa will come while we are gone....should be fun. I was telling dh I have to get my bottom in gear and get all of our Christmas shopping done!!

I'm about 8 hours from WDW, give or take 30 min. So I'll be back probably about 9-10pm on Christmas eve. I'm going to have everything ready to go before I leave--I'll actually be doing some Christmas shopping this weekend.

I keep reading about how people have not received their Disney packages and all of the sudden, I'm worried. Will I get mine? I have never had a problem, but there is a first time for everything, right? I mean, what's going on right now? Is it Disney? Is it USPS? Is it the wrong address? Is it a problem of the distance between the Disney mailbox and the receiver's mailbox?

I don't know--all I know is this: I want my Mickey Mail!

Oh, and 34 days, 14 hours, 33 minutes.

You crack me up with your countdown down to the minute!!! LOL I am officially at 21 days (three weeks!!) and have NO Mickey Mail!!! So, I am soooo concerned!

Well, I really don't know why I am doing that. . .it doesn't seem to make it come any faster, lol. I think you probably would want to have Disney resend the mail, btw. But that's just me and I'm obsessive like that.

Ah...the mailbox stalk. I know it well.

It's coming!!!!!!!

I know--they probably did not even send it out until today--they usually send it out at around 35 days, and since yesterday was a federal holiday. . .I think these holidays are going to make the Mickey mail take longer than normal. . ie--Veteran's day, then Thanksgiving, and then starting the Christmas holidays.

It'll be okay--I just have to keep telling myself that. :santa:

It looks like we are in similiar boats. I have to have everything ready before we go to since we will come back to everything. Yikes!! I hear you on Christmas shopping this weekend. I have to get most of ours done this weekend.

I am stalking the mailbox for our package mailings too. I am hoping for right before Thanksgiving, but as late as some others seem to be running this year I wouldn't be surprised if you are right and it doesn't arrive until aftertwards.

Mailbox stalking. . .a new game. Everyone should try it. :rotfl2:

Honestly, I'm glad dh is staying behind with the kids--he'll be able to get a lot of the last minute stuff done, but it will still be left up to me to wrap presents and have them where they belong. DH will get to put together bicycles all by himself. :santa:

I do the same thing! I check the mailbox everyday in hopes of of getting our little Disney envelope :lovestruc

Kudos to DH for knowing how to put together a bicycle!

Yes! He is very handy. And I will be checking the mailbox daily, knowing that tomorrow it probably won't be there.

Yes, you read it right. Shoes. There was something on the news recently about how shoe sales have taken a sudden climb. They theorized that it is all because women want to feel better. Shoes make them feel better. And since shoes are a necessity, they will buy them without feeling guilt.

I agree. But like Lay's I can't have just one. I need three. Pairs. Yep, that's right.

Saturday I went to the mall in Fayetteville, NC, where there is a new Crocs store. I got these, which I have been looking at for a long time, thinking these might be perfect for cooler nights.

Then, I went to Belk. And they have a great sale on shoes and boots right now. One thing I wanted seriously was a pair of Clark's. I know they are supposed to be super comfortable. I'm not disappointed.

And, finally, I picked up a pair of boots, because my favorite pair (now 5 years old) are literally falling apart.

Of course, I was not to leave the mall without a trip to the Disney Store. I bought some Christmas presents for the kids and this for myself. . .

Tomorrow will be exactly one month until my trip. And one month out, I do have final tweakages with my ADRs--mostly because I look at food porn and decide that I'd like to try such and such place:

Breakfasts:
Grand Floridian Cafe
Whispering Canyon
The Wave
Kona Cafe
1900 Park Fare

Lunches:
Tutto Italia
Tokyo Dining
50s Prime Time Cafe

Dinner:
Yachtsman
Crystal Palace
Chefs de France
Jiko
Cape May Cafe
Liberty Tree Tavern
Citricos

So, a month away, and I have only a few things to do. The major thing right now is to make sure I have samples that I need. I will start packing the weekend after Thanksgiving.

LOVE the hat :thumbsup2 I've got mine (Minnie) and Shamus' (Mickey) in the Christmas box... can't wait to pull em out!!! Today we are three weeks out!!!

- Fri 27th - Shop, come home and rest & maybe make cookies
- Sat 28 - Pick up our Christmas tree from the farm, come home and decorate!
- Sun 29 - FREAK OUT!!! This will put us at ONE week!!! I will get all our packing done this day and make a list of the forgotten goodies...

No Mickey mail. I just got off the phone with guest services and they said it was mailed Nov 5 and then triggered again on Nov 17.

And the hat!

You must be! Thanks--I love the Crocs, btw. Wore the boots Monday--super comfy.

So, for a while now, I couldn't retrieve my reservations online. Not only that, but when I call Reservations, they cannot, either. Because the booking code was changed from free dining to 4/3 and the family was deleted from the reservation, a room only reservation was linked (when the system started having trouble with my email address which has apprently corrected itself) and the resort has changed three times, apparently there is a corruption in my reservation they cannot fix.

I got quite angry because Guest Relations told me yesterday they would call me back in an hour. No call. I literally sat by my phone for 5 hours waiting for a return call. No call.

I waited, however, over 24 hours to call them back. Where I work, we have 24 hours to return a call to a parent. After that 24 hour period, we better have a good reason to not return a call (like we are near death) or we better have called the parent back. To me that is just good business.

I will be writing a letter to Guest Relations regarding that snafu.

Anyhow, I was concerned that because apparently only Guest Relations can retrieve my details, that I'd drive 8 hours to Florida and no one would know I was coming. So, after 4 calls to Guest Relations, 2 hours total on hold, and being hung up on once, here is where I am:

1. I do have a reservation. It cannot be retrieved through the normal methods because it has been through so many changes it is unrecognizable. Think Voldemort and all of his changes through the Horcruxes.

2. I will not be able to do online check in unless there is a trigger that fixes my problem. We don't even know what trigger caused the problem, so, that is probably a moot point.

3. I still can retrieve my reservation enough to make changes to dining if need be. None of my dining reservations are corrupted.

4. I have apparently 2 sets of travel documents (AKA Mickey Mail) coming to me, because the corruption caused the systems to trigger the mailings twice. One was mailed on November 5, the other on November 17. I think that since I was on the phone with Guest relations on Nov 17, they may have triggered this by emailing me another invoice.

5. To be on the safe side, I was told to call Guest Relations on December 15 to ask them to trigger another invoice for email.

In other news, I canceled my room only reservation because apparently we do NOT have a half day that day--kids do--teachers and staff do not. In fact, our Christmas luncheon is that day and I really don't want to miss it, either. So we are back to the up and out at 3am. This cancellation apparently is probably what caused my corruption in my eyes, because it was after that cancellation that I could not get through online except to make dining reservations. Either way, I'll be there soon. I may have a celebration because tomorrow I will receive my National Board results.

That's all the news in my world.

Quite the headache with all the Disney Who-Ha! :headache:

Hopefully your Board results will pick ya up! :goodvibes
