I can feel my hair getting bigger

Sorry, I just can't muster up sympathy for someone with straight, silky hair. :lmao:

Yes, I have extremely curly hair that is just everywhere with high humidity. Makes me miss New Mexico. ;)

The other day, a coworker asked me if I'd gotten my hair cut because it looked really different. I pointed to the window and said, "Umm...it's raining." :rotfl:
Yep, I have no sympathy. I spend alot of time trying to acheive that look. That is why there are always so many hair straightener threads on here. Straight hair is in now. If perms ever come back in style I am more then set.

I'm teaching a combination of all three! You should join in. I need a resident expert:thumbsup2 The new military wives have no clue how to pass the time during the deployments;)

People tease me all the time about my hair. I tell them I was born short, fat and all this hair and I imagine I'll die shorter, fat and with all this hair. I've never had flat hair. I can't even imagine it

I was going to agree with you on this, Tina. But I did have flat hair. Once. For about 5 minutes. After I spent 2 hours flat-ironing it. :headache: Then I stepped out into the humid St. Louis summer. That was the end of that...:rotfl:

I just got my hair cut short for the summer. It was down past my shoulders, and I knew I could not make it through the summer with it long. But the shorter my hair is, the curlier it gets...so it's hopelessly curly and there's not much I can do about it. :goodvibes

Here are my "curly girl" rules:
1. Find the right product to tame your curls.
2. Don't fight your curls. They're gonna do what they want to do anyway, so you might as well just let them.
3. Only work with hair stylists who are experienced with working on curly hair. I can't tell you how many botched cuts I've gotten because the stylist just didn't know how to work with curly hair! Thank goodness I found a good one! (I always tease him and tell him that for once in my life I found my perfect man! :lmao: )

Anyhow, good luck and I hope you end up having a great hair day!!!

:rotfl2:@humidity hair- i have SUCH an issue with this

humidity in colorado springs run about 14 percent-on a high day-and my hair is curly here. I spent a month from easter to mid may working at Ft Hood (in central texas for you non army types) by the third day my hair was the standing joke-i grew a foot everyday.

I have 'Monica in the Bahamas' hair from Friends as well. As the humidity gets higher my hair gets curlier. DD and DH thinks its rather amusing and they find that episode of Friends absolutely hysterical.

Oh me too!!! Everytime that episode is on, I get so many texts and calls with people laughing down the phone at me!

I got married in July...in Florida (smart huh?!) and the hairstylist used something called 'freeze spray' on my hair to keep it from poofing up like a poodle...and still during the outdoor pictures, I'm less concerned about sweating through my wedding dress (a distinct possibility) and instead I'm getting hysterical about my ever growing hair! In the pictures you can SEE my hair getting bigger, as my smile gets more and more fixed!

I have straight flat, do nothing with hair. I have tried long, short, everything, but it is so straight that no style looks good, when it is long my ears peak through and it always looks weird. So I went with the super short and it looked like someone had forgotten to finish cutting my hair.
I put it in pincurls last night just to see if it would hold a curl. I took the bobby pins out and it was a mass of curls but within an hour it was totally straight again. I had even used heavy duty mousse.
I had straight hair, then went through chemo. My hair grew back with the most georgeous curls. It was beautiful. I had heard that hair changes and I was so looking forward to having some curl, even if it kinked during the humid summer days.
Well, it grew out, and now I have the straight thin do nothing hair again.

Before chemo, my hair was long, thick, and wavy. After chemo, my hair is (short temporarily) big and curly. Like these curls, http://www.curly-hair-styles-magazine.com/images/i-love-big-curly-hair-3-4201.jpg except shorter. My hair will hold the curls all day, and even for the next day.
When it rains, here comes Mr. Poof and Mr. Frizz. Same thing for when it's humid.

When I straighten it, my hair is thick and straight for about 3 hours. After that, it flattens and looks pin straight. It's annoying, needless to say.

I'm with okeydokey on this one-- a regular limp noodle head most of the time. Except when my bangs get too long and then I get the flying nun wings :) The grass is always greener, I guess. I'd love to have curly hair. But, on a positive note--I love my hair color (which is a honey blonde).

LOL Yesterday, I pulled my hair up in a ponytail and didn't spray it. Bad move. I went to get in the car and saw my reflection in the window. I had a "halo" of fuzzy curls! ACK!

I use a spray in product while my hair is wet called "Instacure" by Matrix. This stuff is fantastic. It's a great detangler and totally keeps the halo of fuzz away. I no longer get the humidy frizz either. Instacure keeps my hair smooth and silky. I LOVE this stuff!!

My hair becomes a mega lions mane in the humidity. I have to really wrangle it daily just to get it presentable. The underneath curls very nice but the top layer is a mess 1/2 the time. I'll gladly trade with any flat hair heads. ;)

Don't you hate that?!?:headache: It's only 0818 and already very humid. I've already had my morning shower and had good hair. One step out the door and *poof* here comes the magic afro.

Doesn't help matters that I am teaching a class today in a room the size of a closet with no a/c at all. Let's take bets on how long I can go until my hair gets pulled up on my head. I give it until 1130 and that's pushing it.

Anyone else have weather related hair? My husband loves teasing me about it. Says he knows the weather by my hair:rolleyes:

O..M..G, Tina, last June 10-14, my family was all in DC for DBro's graduation from the National War College AND it was soooooo incredibly hot BUT the worst was the humidity!!!!! :headache: We were all dying from the heat/humidity. Welcome to DC, baby!!! ::yes::

I will tell you it has been almost one year that we are in the OC and NO humidity at all. SWEET!!!

I have very naturally curly hair which goes into "overdrive" in any kind of humidity. Now I wear it short, but if I am in humidity and do not use hairspray on it I look like "Beaker" from the Muppets in a couple of hours :scared:

OT I am a retired Army wife my DH was in the Army for over 25 years...

This is soooo true!! My dh mentioned once about possibly moving for his job, and I just looked at him and said "are you crazy, I finally found a good hairstylist, we are never moving". I'll give up my doctor, dentist, gyno, anything else, but I think I'd give up my dh before I'd move away from my hairstylist. Honestly, one of my biggest fears in life is that she is going to move (I've already changed salons three times to stay with her, I now drive 45 minutes one way to see her).

My hair is naturally curly, and only a little humidity makes it friz like crazy.

I feel your pain. Its not usually humid out here, but when it is, POOF! Any bit of moisture in the air and the size of my hair doubles.
