I can do this...Karyn's journal to lose 20!

The scale was kind this morning! Lost another .8!! That puts me at 3.8 down for the month. I haven't eaten breakfast yet this morning. Has been pretty busy so far today. I actually have a lot to do today, so I hope that Jack cooperates!! We are going to visit their new schools so that he won't be overwhelmed when he starts on Monday. Then...I have to make another grocery trip. Wish me luck!!! :flower:
 
I have done well today. Didn't eat breakfast because I had a lot to do. At 11:30, I made tacos for Jack and me. I ate 3 shells with about 1/2 cup of 93% lean ground beef, (I always, always rinse the meat off after I cook it...you get rid of more fat that way and it doesn't change the flavor or texture!!) 1/2 cup of 2% shredded cheese and 2 tbsp of light sour cream. As much as I can figure, it came out to 10 pts. I ate a 100 Calorie Pack of Oreos for dessert. (YUM!!) They are 2 pts each. I got some more Lean Pockets and LC dinners at the grocery store, so that should hold me for a week or so. I still have 8-10 pts for dinner. Will probably do a LC dinner or a Lean Pocket.

It's nice to finally see some results of the weight loss. My jeans fit a little looser today! I don't feel so bloated and uncomfortable. It's amazing what losing a few pounds can do!! :cool1: :banana:
 
I am so glad you are seeing results! It is best to lose the weight slowly. And your pants fit better, yippee!!!

Don't give up! There must have been something in the air this weekend, because I wanted to quit too. But we have to stick with it, and your weight loss proves it!

Hang in there, I hope you can find some relief with your stressful situation. When school starts, you will meet all kinds of people - have you considered volunteering at the school? That is a good way to keep busy and meet new friends. I'm glad you will be able to get to the Y while the kids are at school. The weight will really start to drop off once you have that consistent exercise.

Stick with it, you can do it! :cheer2:
 
Karyn, I want to intoduce myself. My name is Laurie and I live in SE Iowa. I just discovered the WISH journals. I too am short and people cannot believe how much I weigh when I tell them. I am 5'4" and weigh 150 lbs. Thats alot for a frame like mine. Also, I am having a very tough time getting rid of this hard lard and its VERY frustrating. At age 48, my metabolism just stinks. Let me know if you need another Iowan to talk to. (((hugs)))
 

OMG...I totally agree with something being in the air...I too wanted to give up this weekend! I am just tired of not seeing anything on the scale. Anyways enough on me.

Great that your pants are looser. That is a great feeling.

Keep up the good work. You are doing a great job.
 
We went to the park today, so I ended up eating a lot later than I usually do. I still haven't eaten as much today as I do most days.

Breakfast-skipped because I had lots to do this morning...got to stop skipping meals

Lunch-taco salad (10 pts)

snack-100 Calorie Oreos (2 pts)

Dinner-pineapple and cream cheese sandwich (5 pts) and some cheese puffs (3 pts)

Total...20 pts...walked around a lot at the park, so I did get some exercise in!

It's really amazing what a difference 5 pounds makes!! :cool1: I did go over in points a little today, but I don't feel too bad about it! I still made pretty good choices, I think.

Breakfast-Lean Pocket with bacon, egg and cheese (4 pts)

Lunch-leftover potatoes (3 pts) and I added some cheese (2 pts)

Snack-100 Calorie Oreos (2 pts)

Dinner-taco salad with ingredients from yesterday (10 pts)...ate a little more than yesterday-it was so good!!!

Total...21 pts...I'm trying to remember if that is everything...guess I didn't go over as much as I thought I did!! Oh, wait, I did have an ice cream sandwich (2 pts) so my total for today is...23 pts. Not too bad!! :flower:
 
You are doing great Karyn, keep it up!!!! Next thing you know you will be at 10 lbs, etc... You should be so proud of yourself!!

I did very, very good today...until my mom mailed me some yogurt covered pretzels. They were gooooood. I don't even know how many of them I ate. Didn't even count...probably 1/4 of the bag. They were really gooooood. But, as Cindy said, that's what I have flex points for!! I try not to dip into my flex points too much, but this was so worth it!!

Breakfast-Lean Pocket-chicken parmesan...not good...didn't like the flavor...it's a little too spicy (6 pts)

Snack-2 point ice cream bar (2 pts)

Lunch-LC chicken and noodles (6 pts)

Dinner-pineapple and cream cheese sandwich (4 pts) and some cheese puffs (4 pts)

Total-22 points

I probably ate 6 or 8 pts of pretzels. Do I really want to know how many points it was?? Probably not. Won't be getting on the scale in the morning.
 
Oh wow Karyn - you are doing AWESOME!!!! Congrats on the weight gone!!!! BRAVO for you - you deserve it very much!!!!!! Keep up the good work and shame on your mom (but as long as they were good.... :) )
