OK, I have a question about this. When OP called did you already have a reservation made or were looking to make a reservation? I am curious if it's better to wait and book a reservation when you find out you get a code or not. We already made our reservations for this year because it is going to be around a wedding. I keep checking and there's nothing there. Just curious if you people that are getting codes are getting them when you book or if you get them AFTER you've booked???

I don't have the anwers to your questions but I have noticed that several of us have asked the OP questions about the PIN and none of us have gotten any replies... the OP hasn't commented on here since the first post

I'm not the OP, but I can comment on my personal experience. This year I had not made any ressies... I just kept calling a pricing vacations.

I called today and there is no pin for me. Do I just call every day to see if one is added? Also, can I only check my own name or can I check my husband's also? Or doesn't it matter if it's the same address? Thanks.

Chck all names that are assoicated with your mailing address. My daughters name is connected to our address so it will some time be in her name or ours. Also you e-mail addresses may have them attached as well

Okay, I am completely retarded ....what are pins and how do I get one?

I have ressies for the campground Aug 08 after the AP discount expires and can't get the free dining deal at the end of the month because I have a campsite not a cabin.

I love coupons and codes and was just browsing the DIS tonight and found this thread....too tired to research this...can anyone help me?

Pins are random discounts that are assigned to certain people or peoples family by thier address....

Discounts are usually 20 to 40% off and only can be used for lodging.. they do not apply to campsites.

Woohoo! My daughter just called me and said that she found a postcard that had my name on it at my old address while cleaning out her car. Thank God, it's still valid, or I would have wrung her neck or thrown something at her! I saved $1063.16!!!! Woohoo! It was 30% off the room rate.

It was a postcard in my maiden-married name with my previous address and I got to apply it to my reservation! The postcard that came TO my current address with my daughter's name on it, I couldn't use because she wasn't able to come with us this trip! There is some postcard going around that says, certain dates (I think she read to me October 2, November 1, or something like that) when the CM read me the dates it said from January 1, 2008 through December 15, 2008! So IF you get a postcard and it says dates....I'd call anyway to see if you can apply it to your ressie! Just a heads up! Don't give up that easy on it!

I cannot wait for October now! My DH is thrilled!!!!

Thanks for the replies but it doesn't really matter now, we are canceling our Aug. trip thanks to the gas prices and instability of the economy. We are self-employed and the bad times are finally starting to affect our business.

PLEASE PEOPLE, EAT MORE CHICKEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, we wouldn't dream of canceling if we hadn't gone to Disney 2x in the past 8 months . We just can't justify this upcoming trip mainly because of the price of fuel. My husband says that he REFUSES to pay it! Our campsite would be the least of it with our AP discount but the fuel is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. We did. We even changed resorts, since there were no coded rooms at the CR for our dates when we got our PIN in January.

I did not realize that receiving PINS was a big deal until I started reading this website. I have gotten two--one late last year for the Value resorts and one a couple of months ago via email, again for the Value resorts. The second one I recieved shortly after I ordered the 2008 DVD Planning video. I think (I am not sure) that both PIN code offers were for 40% off. But I am not 100% percent sure since I did not really read the email word for word since we are not going this year anyway.

But now that I am planning on going next year, I have not received anything and I want one for the AKL or WL for next May.

I am not sure if this has anything to do do with it, but I am also registered Disney's useless website and I update my info occasionally as well.

I stalk this website everyday, so hopefully something will come for AKL or WL.

Here's a question, if I have the AAA discount with DDP and I call CRO and find out I have a pin code attached to my name do I call my AAA TA and have her apply it or will I just not be able to use it because it's a room only?

Ok im new to this pin thing as well, so what number do you call? then you ask the person to check your name for a pin number? I know ive read all these other post but i just want to understand completely.

BUT after reading through this site, I did as someone suggested and signed up again on the Disney site with another email address and password. And last night, I received an email from Disney Destinations with a PIN code. Discount is good for 30% off undiscounted rate, which I will use for our trip in November. Unfortunately, the week I wanted was blacked out (November 2-8) so we decided to go Nov 9-15 so we can afford to stay at the Polynesian.

It was about 3 days, I think. I know it was really quick.

BTW, we have been to Disneyworld about 6 times previously over the past 12 years or so and never received any discounts in the past. I didn't even realize that they were offered until now when I happened onto this site. When I called about 4-5 days ago, I checked our names and email that we've always used. Then I decided to register again with another email and password after reading someone's suggestion. That's when I got the email with a PIN number -- in the new email registered.

that's really interesting...as you can see we have been there several times since 2003 and never received a pin either
