Paula,

I've been curious about that tape but recently purchases a Pilates one, so I didn't want to get too gung ho at one time!

Please do keep us informed on how you like the tapes. I'm also interested in exactly what you have to do and what's on the tape, if it's just walking in place, in patterns, etc., or if it's one of those things where there's pictures of mountains or the beach or whatever, and you're supposed to imagine as if you're there.

Thanks!

I love WATP!!!! Whatever you do do NOT listen to KELSIE!!!! In fact I don't even think she has opened her tape yet!!! They are great tapes. THis come from someone who HATES to excercies!!!!

Woo-hoo, Paula!!

I know there are BUNCHES of WATP fans on this board. You are in great company!!!!! Please let us know how you like it!!!!

GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!

I love WATPs as well... and I'm definitely not an exercise fanatic.

Hope they work well for you, Paula!

I think you will love the tapes. I bought mine the first part of May. I need to lose about 80 more pounds. I try and do them as much as possible. I started very slowly. The one mile tape three times a week for the first three weeks. Then I went to the two mile and increased the frequency. I started the three mile tape a few weeks ago and I love it. Since July 1st I have been able to do one of my tapes everyday.

When I started I had the urge to go to the two and three mile tapes immediately and I had to remind myself of the many exercise plans that went down the drain because I started too fast out of the gate and then ran out of steam too soon.

Start out slow and remember to not overdo it. She is constantly reminding us that if she is going too fast that it is okay just to stop what she's doing and just walk. I love the fact that I can do my "walks" in any kind of weather. My DS thought that the tapes looked easy. I challenged him to try it with me and he barely made it to the end. That was the end of his comments too.

The program consists of walking, side-stepping, leg lifts, front kicks and kick-backs. She alternates them throughout. She does some arm exercises and you use the Walk-A-Way weights for these. It is a great program for people who haven't moved much in recent years.

Good luck! The hard part is getting them out of the box and into the VCR.

Disney fan - I'll most likely being doing a WATP workout tomorrow a.m. too! See, we can be exercise buddies :)

I have been exercising fairly routinely for almost 8 years now - I thought the WATP would be easy, and I do the 3 mile - but it is a workout! I consider it a "lighter" workout for me, as compared to jogging or elliptical machine, but none the less I am burning calories and fat and toning my leg muscles. All of these are good things!!

Most importantly, find something YOU like! don't be afraid to try different things and new workouts!! Check- out workout videos from the library to try before you buy!!

I love the Walk Away the Pounds tapes. I have the ones with the blue round balls. They are great when you can't get outdoors!

I bought WATP for ABS on eBay a couple of weeks ago and I love it! Getting started is the hardest part (I haven't moved in years, either!), but feeling that sweat running down my back is a motivator!

I like the fact that Leslie Sansome seems NORMAL, like somebody who I could go out to lunch with. And so do the people who work out w/her.

I did the 1 mile a few times, but I like the challenge of the 2 mile. I usually do the 20 minute Winsor Pilate DVD and then the 2 mile walk.

Please send me good wishes and a PUSH! out of bed at 6:00 tomorrow so I get my exercise in!!! :-)

Good luck!

DISNEYFANRI - these tapes are great!!

I got these off EBAY, and they came with the weight balls - I started on the 1 mile (no weights) and it about kicked my butt!! Keep at it, and in no time you'll be on to the 2 mile one - I finally did the 2 mile w/ the weights (after about 3/4 times w/o weights).

This is a fun way to work out - you'll be amazed at how quickly the time goes by (about 15min for the 1 mile, 30 for the 2 mile). Leslie is not annoying either (like so many other instructors out there). It doesn't matter the weather, or the time of day. You can do this whenever you want to.

I also have the 20 minute Windsor Pilates tape, that I try to alternate w/ the WATP tapes.

Enjoy!!

Update - I did the one mile today - Susan-Ontario - I am taking your advice and doing eh one mile M-W-F for 3 weeks - starting slow - determined to stick to it this time.

I wanted to let you all know that I ordered the WATP 3-tape set with weights off of half.com. I really haven't been having a problem exercising but I have been alternating walking outside with walking on the treadmill but when it gets even hotter I won't be outside again and I need something to mix things up. I also like the fact that the tapes aren't too long so I can get a workout in if I don't have a lot of time. I'll let you know how I like it once it arrives and I try it out.
