When I bought the TS3 Balloon last Tuesday I wasn't thinking about how long it lasted. We have had it a week and it's still going strong! The problem is, we fly home on Wednesday. How do I get it home? Do I just plan on leaving it here in SoCal? What do I do with a crying 4 year old when we leave the balloon here? :confused3

Anyone ever taken one on a plane?

Can you untie it? Then deflate and fold it up? Does it have seems that you could poke with a needle or staple to keep it from bursting?

Good ideas. I would try to deflate it, fold it, and put it on the wall or door in her room when you get it home. If you tell her that is the only way you can bring it home, it will be easier on her. Good luck!

Sorry no help..but have a ? for you...can I ask what it cost? My daughter LOVES balloons and I am trying to get a feel for how much I am gonna have to shell out for one or 10...lol.

I have heard in the past of people taking there balloons to City Hall and they will remove and deflate it for you so you can take it home with you.

TSM3 balloons are ziptied at the bottom so they cannot be deflated. You can try, but it will be a hard one.

and yes, you can request for a deflated one at City Hall.

the balloons are $12 for the light up ones, and $6 for non light up ones. I too have this issue with balloons as we mostly fly. It sucks. my little boy is a balloon nut- he loves Balloons more then any other toy and its all UP'S fault. Its one of his favorite movies. Too bad they cant redo the ride at DCA- the jumpin jellyfish to a balloon ride that takes you up and base it on the movie UP. Good luck getting your balloon home. Try taking a pic of it first with your kid holding it before you deflate it. it sometimes eases the pain, and then when you get home- go to the dollar store and buy a bunch of balloons!

When I was there back in May, the staff at PPH left one of the large Minnie mylar balloons in the hotel room for my DD6. It was a really nice surprise gift, but my first thought was how am I going to get this home, since we too are not locals and must fly. Well anyhow, I did exactly what is suggested above. I managed to get the inflating spot open, let out all the helium, and folded it up and put it in a suitcase. It now makes a great decoration above the head of her bed at home.

Whatever you do, don't just leave it in the hotel. If you had to leave it and could not take it home, I think I would offer it up to some other youngster there.

Let us know how it turns out. Every time DS and DD see pics of kids with balloons at Disneyland, they get excited. DD informed me that they would be getting one. Trouble is, we have to fly home too. Maybe I'll ask at City Hall before I buy and see what they say!! Good luck.

You can take deflated balloons to places like Party City, etc, and pay to have them inflated....we did this when we wanted to use them for a second party a week later but they were starting to be ugly.....I think it cost us $1 each.

My girls have a huge collection of balloons...we've given them a mylar balloon for every Valentine's Day and birthday of their life (so 14 years and holding)....they all live on the ceiling of the bedroom, stapled up. Yes, the staples mean no more inflating, but tape meant they kept falling down while they slept, lol.

Balloons can also be folded and put into a scrapbook or even a photo album to remind you of the great time you had.

We bought DD the light up one last summer, it was still going strong when it was time to go home, about 10 days after purchase, DH managed to let out the air, it took awhile, and we took all the pieces home. DD played with the light stick thing for about a year now and it is almost completly bent and broken LOL, and I finally threw away the balloon. Too bad we can't take balloon's on airplanes :(

Albort, GREAT info! (for those who don't know, he's a CM and is in the know!)

OK I don't normally like redos of rides, but that would be one I could deal with! Love it!

do you know if you can get uninflated Christmas Mickey and Christmas Minnie ones at City Hall as well?
I asked once one of the sellers if I could buy an uninflated led light up mickey head inside the clear balloon type ones, but they said no. is this true? can I ask at city hall for one of those types uninflated as well? Thanks in advance for your help! :goodvibes

When the DISBoards did a special backstage tour of DL, they told us they will not sell the LED light-up ones deflated for you to get filled at home.

Apparently there is some special way of blowing them up so the ears inside are perfect. This is not something just anyone can do and they must be trained specially for this task to get them perfect. They don't want guest dissatisfaction issues if people get them home and they can't ge them blown up right.

Well...we clipped the zip tie off the end and deflated it. I have since promised my daughter that I will try to get it re-inflated. Wish me luck!

We flew (in Canada) with a mylar balloon last week. I told my dd that they may not allow it on the plane but we asked the first guy at security and he said he couldn't see why not ,passed through security(even did the full body scan)and brought it on the plane. It did get very tight though and I thought it might blow up. I don't know if it would work with a rubber balloon like the Mickey head though. That might go boom.....not good on a plane:scared1:

We did that too, just blew it up with air and tied it then hung it from the ceiling. We had that Xmas Minnie mylar balloon hanging in daughters bedroom for years! then we let the air out flattened it and stuck it to the wall...now it's in the back of the closet... they grew up but I refuse to throw it away!! :lmao:

Yeah, that could be a tad scary. We are flying down in a couple weeks and DD insists on getting a balloon. She wants the Mickey head one. Maybe I'll talk her out it and get a mylar one- that or we'll just tie it to the stroller for the week!
