I can't believe I did this. After a bunch of years in a mommobile, I have an empty nest this year. We needed a newer car. I just bought a 96 Mustang GT. Not the most practical vehicle in the world but super cool. It looks and drives like new. And did I say it's way cool.
By the way on the way home from the dealership a guy actually tried to race me. I busted up laughing. Now to keep the college sons paws off it.

Congrats!
(as I drive my new mini-van green with envy! I tell people this is my KIDS car and that when you see a Mercedes Convert. in the garage - I finally got my own car! lol!)

Congratulations! You are way cool! :cool1:

I love Mustangs. What's odd is, I've never really said anything about them, but my 10 yo DD is all of a sudden obsessed with them too! When I was looking for a new car, she kept begging me to get a Mustang convertible. The V6 was in my price range, but I had to be practical. What a bummer.

Awesome! :cool1:
My favorite car ever was my 1978 Mustang - Red with a black top.
Enjoy!

This thing has a big v8 in it. I"ve been driving an 86 audi with a v4 in it. I still can't believe I did this. It's so unpractical and that's not me at all.

Very cool! I am green with envy!! ::yes:: I have a few more years to go before I have an empty nest, but then I think I'll do the same thing!

So, how mad are your kids that you waited until they were gone to get a cool car? :rotfl2:

Congrats on the new car. Just watch your speed, with a V8 it is very easy to go too fast!

I bought the new 2005 Mustang, and I love it. It is the V6 and it is almost too powerful for me. And I get a lot of people looking at it and some teen guys trying to race me! I know it is not a practical car, but I am tired of being practical!

Very cool for you!
My DM has a mustang convertable that she loves drive.

You will love it, I have a 95 V6 and my mom has a 95 GT Convertible. Let me tell you, I have driven both cars and there is not much power difference between the V6 and the V8. The V8 is alot louder, but mine handles better. :teeth:

I LOVE my stang and wouldn't part with it for anything!!!! Warning.... they go NOWHERE in the snow!

I bought a jeep for the winter because I am not driving my stang AGAIN this winter, or should I say, I am not spinning again this winter! ;)

My car is a 96 Mustang GT convertible....red....but since having the first baby - DH now drives it and I get the big ole Explorer....no way am I going to a minivan! ;)

I gave up my Subaru AWD for my Mustang, for me that was the only drawback to buying the car. Guess I will be sitting home when it snows!

Be careful where you park it, my brother had his convertible v8 mustang stolen and burned to the ground-it's a big favorite for joyriders.

I recommend one of those red locking bars on the steering wheel, I think it was the only thing that saved our car when we lived down in miami-you just don't want to give the joyriders an easy target. The Club, I think it was called.

We're both drooling over the new mustang convertibles, you should see the ones that Saleen has gotten their hands on, oooooohh.

My post minivan vehicle is going to be a porsche cayman-S, convertible, screaming mimi yellow....

I hear ya!!! My kids are out growing the stang, and I NEEDED something that we would ALL fit in! So we had a "family meeting" on what to go to. I only had a few options of affordability, so we ALL unannamously chose a JEEP! It is fun in the summer, getcha where your goin in the winter and we can ALL fit in it! :cool1:

Well, here is MY personal experience with my stang and the snow.... I can get it going, I just can't get it stopped. And GOD forbid you want to TURN! Nope, that sucker goes STRAIGHT no matter which way the wheels are pointed!

That is rear wheel drive for ya! I think they should make it so that the back wheels turn in a rear wheel drive! Maybe THAT will help it turn! :teeth:

That's all the one college kid keeps saying. He's home for the weekend. He's like, everything changes when I leave, there's a cool car and dad grows a mustache. It's too funny. I let the boys take it to the movies last night but I worried too much. Don't think I'll do that again. There's no way they'll be driving the speed limit in it.

Hey Tiggeroo:
Did you see the thread about going through Mid-Life crisis? :teeth: :teeth:
