do I call DCL or does my TA take my requests? tia. Im so exited. dh has no idea:D

You can call Debbie at 407-566-7411 (8:30am to 5:30pm EST). She'll take care of your Palo reservations (dinner, brunch and/or High Tea) and your spa reservations. HTH

If you are booked with a travel agent, they should take care of making the advance bookings for you. (saving you the cost of a long distance call.)

Sue Ellen

Do you get to pick your dates for the ressies, ie., Palo and massages? Thank you.

You can pick your dates and times for both Palo and the massages. Debbie is extremely helpful!

We just got back and found the REAS to be a wonderful addition to our first cruise experience. I would suggest that you square away your dining rotation with Debbie, if possible, when you call to make your reservations. We had to change our rotation after we got on the ship.

My DH got the full massage and I got the massage and facial. It was heavenly.

He knew about the package but didn't know what all was included so he was completely overwhelmed when we got back from Palo dinner and had rose petals all over the bed. ::yes:: He really liked all of the surprises.

Have a great cruise!

Did you schedule the two different massages before you boarded?

Can you also give some details about the spa treatments? What do they do for the facial?

Another question, is the Room service breakfast park of this pkg too?

When I called Debbie to make all of our reservations she told me that there were two spa treatments to choose from: the full body massage and a partial massage with a facial. She also let me know that the breakfast was available on either Nassau day or CC day and we could choose which day we liked when we got on the ship. We planned Palo for 7:30 on Nassau day, my DH's birthday. Debbie said that the romantic turn-down would happen that night as well.

Here's what happened on board:

Gift Basket
It was very pretty with champagne, chocolate truffles in a pretty heart-shaped box, a photo album with the DCL logo, a lovely metal basket with hearts on it and a card from DCL with their 'best wishes'. The chocolates were yummy! We didn't drink the champagne until Nassau night... read on.

Champagne Breakfast
The menu was attached to our gift basket. It was a door hanger that you checked off all of the items you wanted for breakfast. We each had an omlette, I had toast and my DH had croissants and pancakes. We ordered coffee, oj and champagne to drink. We checked that we wanted it delivered at 8am and it was there right on time. Please, please have $$ ready for room service tips. I had to fumble for it and the poor guy was so nice to wait. They also came back about an hour later to pick up the pile of dishes. You can put them outside when you finish, we hadn't gotten to it before they returned.

Couples Massage
I called the spa to confirm our reservations before we went into Nassau, our treatment was at 3pm. We both showered and put on casual, loose fitting clothing before going to the spa. After we checked in and filled out our information sheets, they gave us baskets and showed us to the locker rooms so we could change into our robes and slippers. We were early so we waited a few minutes in the locker rooms before the therapists came to get us. I fell asleep in the comfy lounge chair while I waited. (what can I say? I was on vacation!) Wella and Robert showed us to our treatment room. It was TINY with two massage tables and a counter for oils and other products. They let us decide who was going to treat whom, I chose Wella because Robert was really big and I was afraid he would pull my muscles off my body. I under-estimated Wella due to her small stature, she worked my over stressed shoulders thoroughly. (I loved it) My DH had the full body massage and I chose the combo massage & facial. Wella did my back and legs and then I flipped over and she did the facial. It was wonderful. We are from the dessert and my skin was glowing after she was done. We chose to write 'no sales pitch, please' on our info sheets. They read it and didn't offer a thing beyond water and a receipt for our signature. We tipped each of them $20.

Palo
Awesome. Lovely. Delicious.
It was way more food than I have ever received at such a nice restaurant. The portions are small but they give you so much of so many things! We had martini's and a bottle of wine, with the tip our bill was over $100.

Romantic Turn Down (after dinner at Palo's)
My DH had no idea that they were going to do this and it was a wonderful surprise. Christina sprinkled rose petals all over the bed, iced our champagne and made two lovely towel-swans on the bed amidst the rose petals. It was VERY romantic and he loved it.

We both felt the REAS was worth the money and will do it again. Our only regret was that we had to change our dinner seating after we got on board. Next time I wil ask for APL when I make the spa & Palo reservations.

Great report-So how many bottles of champagne did you receive? Sounds like alot!
What do they do for their facials there? I've had one here at home and was not impressed.

We received only one bottle of champagne in our gift basket, we didn't drink it until the next night. They brought two glasses of champagne with our breakfast.

As I said, we live in the desert so my skin was kind of dry. If I remember correctly, she used a clenser (smelled like ponds cold cream), exfoliator, toner, eye cream, lip cream and moisterizer. My skin was lovely afterwards. I almost wish I had gotten the sales pitch. Of course, a lot of the effect is achieved by technique and I don't remember the last time I took an hour to wash my face!

Im so excited!! thanks for all the info. I think Im going to reserve our dinner the 2nd night when we are in nassua and have the breakfast the next morning! Im still trying to figure out a day for the spa. :earsboy:

Thanks for the great recap. We have it booked for our upcoming cruise and I'm looking forward to it!

HI BabyBird

just wondering; isn't a scalp massage included with the spa taster?

do you think it would be okay to keep a 2 piece bathing suit or underwear on during the massage?

thanks & i loved your detailed report:wave:

The scalp massage was part of the facial - sort of. It reminded me of what my DH does to my head while he is watching football and I am napping in his lap. (yes, he is wonderful)

I guess you can wear whatever you feel comfy in to your massage. I have had many massages and always got naked for the treatments. I feel like clothing would get in the way. You are covered with a huge towel the whole time, not naked to the world.

The therapists are professionals, just like a doctor. They keep the parts that they aren't specifically working on covered and do a wonderful job keeping you warm and cozy.

My DH was nervous about the massage but he loved it. Now I know what to get him for Christmas! ::yes::
