After researching all hotels on harbor that are 10min or less walk to gate, I ended up with Tropicana Disney Exec Suite. Two rooms, two bathrooms, private balcony with disney/fireworks view. With prices cheap now for a hopeful Nov 2015 trip, I needed to book something. I will be keeping my eye on that new Marriott on Harbor with the water park, curious what they will charge.

Anyway, whew! Fingers crossed this is first step for our trip and would love to hear if anyone has stayed there. Total for 5 nights was $1164 for our family of 5. I was thinking we would do BWPPI and that would have cost $871 with one room, one bathroom and no fireworks on the private balcony. For $300 more seems like we are getting a lot more, also I suspect the hotel might be a bit nicer. I hope anyway....

thanks to everyone as always for your help, I love you guys :love1:

My husband and I stayed here in a double queen room in June of last year. We weren't impressed and won't be staying again. Our room did NOT look like any of the pictures on their site and our shower backed up. Blech! Now, maybe in the past several months they've done some upgrades? And for the price you are paying, I hope your room is much nicer than ours was! It wasn't horrible, but it definitely felt old and we won't stay there again. In looking at the photos on the Tropicana site, it definitely looks like they've possibly done upgrades. Maybe some more frequent travelers can help? Or check out reviews on Trip Advisor! :)

About 6 months prior to that trip, we stayed at the Best Western Park Place Inn, which was nice... definitely not a 5 star hotel or anything but nice. We had our kids with us on that trip and got a mini-suite that had 2 queen beds and a couch.

We're taking our kids again this November and are going to give the Park Vue Inn a try .... I love the idea of bunk beds and not having to share a bed with my kids! lol

I know what you mean which is why I didn't book a regular queen room. We had a bad stay at Desert Inn our last trip and I am hoping for an upgrade but still stay on harbor. I am hoping someone here has stayed in this suite and can chime in-I don't want another bad hotel stay, it was such a bummer. What other places at DL have you stayed at? Our first trip we stayed at hojo kid suite and I was most impressed. I'd like to be closer to the crosswalk though and now those rooms are 4 years old....

We stayed at the Trop (regular two queen room) back in October and we liked it. Beds were comfortable, pillows were eh (but DH loved them so depends on your taste), water pressure was decent, and our room was towards the back and it was quiet. We booked again for this coming June and I was considering changing to an Exec Suite if my mom joins us (she snores) but one drawback is the suites are facing the main sidewalk and I hear it can be very noisy. Probably not an issue for our almost 3 year old DD but for me who can be a light sleeper, it would be an issue if it was noisy.

We stayed in September in a standard queen and were very happy. It was clean and well kept.

I decided to book the Executive Suite for our December trip and I'm really excited about it! If you end up keeping your reservation for Nov, please report back. I have searched and searched for more reviews and/or pictures of the Disney Executive Suite at the Tropicana, but what I have found is very limited. I hope it's a great choice!
