This is our second trip to Disney!! We're going July 18-25, 2011, it will be myself, DS-17, DS-14, DD-14. We're on the DDP.

7/18/11- House of Blues (dinner, OOP, staying at POP one night then transferring to CR)

7/19/11- Coral Reef (L)
1900 Park Fare (D, I canceled O'Hana after reading some of the posts)

7/20/11- Playhouse Disney H&V (B)
Sci-Fi (D)

7/21/11- Tusker House (B)
Flying Fish (D)

7/22/11- Crystal Palace (B)
Cinderella's Royal Table (D)

7/23/11- Kona (B)
Whispering Canyon Cafe (D)

7/24/11- 1900 Park Fare (B)
The Wave (D)

7/25/11- Chef Mickey's (B)

What do you think of my selections?

I've eaten at most of the restaurants you have listed and I would only suggest looking at 1900 PF for dinner a little more. Especially since you are using it as a replacement for Ohana which I assume is due to negative comments on the food. and/or the long waits!

We tried it for the first time in July '09 and it just wasn't that good. We did it because my daughter was 7 at the time and did BBB earlier in the day and was wearing her Cinderella dress. Overall, the characters were fun, but the food wasn't too yummy.

Since you are doing a lot of other buffets, I suggest doing a sitdown instead. If you like staying on the monorail line, I would suggest Grand Floridian Cafe or Kona Cafe. Both have very good breakfasts and dinners are good as well.

Whispering Canyon wasn't as good the last time we went as it had been several times before, but it is always good for the entertainment. And a fun boat ride over to WL from the CR.

Hope you have a great time!

Well, to be honest...when I saw the Playhouse Disney H&V, I thought you probably had preschoolers. Is there a particular reason you want to dine there? Are you on the deluxe DDP that you are scheduling two table service meals per day or are you just paying for breakfast OOP? Do you like Park Faire enough to have both breakfast and dinner there during one vacation? I know the characters are different at those meals...I just like to try different locations. Only you know your family and their likes. My family can only tolerate so many buffets and character meals. My teenagers wouldn't be too thrilled at the amount of character meals (especially teen boys) I am seeing. I am not trying to be offensive. As I said, every family is different in their expectations, etc. The meals my 13 and 18 year old sons would be happy with that are on your list would be:HOB, Coral Reef, Sci-Fi, Tusker House, FF, Kona, WCC (sort of...if they had never been) and the Wave. Good luck with any "tweaking" you do!

I wanted to edit to add some of the places my teens have enjoyed (besides some of the ones you've mentioned) over the years: Teppan Edo, most of the restaurants in the EPCOT nations, Boma (our exception to buffets), all of the signature restaurants, ESPN Zone (I don't think it's on the DDP), ****T-Rex Cafe****(non-DDP but they all LOVE it--unles HOB is something you just have to do, this might be a good switch for the meal you pay OOP), if they haven't been before 50's Prime Time(would fulfill the "fun" requirement without being so pre-schoolish).

Another edit since I see you are staying at the Contemporary and you seem to want to include breakfast (TS). You could easily, by boat or monorail, hit the following breakfasts which are all great, IMO: Kona, GFC (maple French toast), WCC, the Wave. If you were willing to go out of your way for breakfast, Kouzzina is an option and Boma is wonderful. If you're really looking for the entertainment factor WCC would come the closest to meeting that requirement.

Just wanted to bump this up to say I have added some extra thoughts to my above post.

Thank you for replying. I took your suggestion and drop 1900 PF and switched back to Ohana! Yes, I was allowing the negative comments on the long waits to persuade me. Thanks so much for your input! :):)

Thank you for your suggestions! I'm a nurse so I have thick skin :rotfl2:! I love your openness! I only choice Playhouse Disney since that is our Hollywood Studios day and wasn't sure of what other choices for bkfst that day in Hollywood Studios. I scheduled our bkfst around 10a everyday, seem to work pretty well for us, to play a little then eat. This is just our second trip, so I'm still learning :rotfl:. I only scheduled 2 meals each day because my sons wanted the freedom to eat at some of the CS between bkfst and dinner. I have never been to Park Fare, wasn't too familiar with their choices. I'm glad you mentioned Boma. I read very good things about Boma. I'm going to check now for openings for bkfst instead of Park Fare. What other bkfst choices for our Hollywood Studios day?
