I blew it today!

My perfect driving record of 20 years!! I got my first ticket today. I am soooo mad at myself. I saw him, but couldn't catch it in time. I didn't even stop to look at how fast actually I was going. He stated 15 over the limit- which I believe was 35. But, since it was my first time, he wrote down 10 miles or less over the limit. Evidently this will help with my insurance rates?? I do appreciate that, but UGH!! I should have knocked on wood last week, when I stated that I had never been pulled over or ticketed.

I still think that he should have seen that I am expecting and given me a "state of grace!"

Oh my....I totally need to be convicted and on my knees begging for forgiveness...I have done this!! I took a Wilderness Lodge "fat" mug back with me on the last trip...only to realize that they don't sell this one anymore.

I guess I am being paid back for all of my wrongdoings!

I haven't been pulled over yet either, but I've only been driving for just over 4 years. :crossesfingers:

1 ticket in 20 years... that's outstanding.

Yeah - I figure when I finally get a ticket, I will have deserved one 10 times over! (I just haven't gotten caught - yet!)

Exactly! I can't say that I am the "go by the rules" type of girl- I am usually a lead foot on highways, etc. I just got caught today! It just really bites that I have to basically give $ away during this time of the year. Consequences really bite!

Lesson learned.."Don't take the back roads to get home sooner!" I will now take the road with a couple more stop lights. These at least keep me under speed limit. ha!

In IL you can take a drivers safety class and as long as you don't get another ticket in X amount of time your first ticket doesn't go on your record. And the class cost about the same as the ticket, but it will save you on insurance.

I got my first and only ticket 5 years ago. I was 37.

After getting the ticket, we went to the store. My DD4 told everybody in Wal-Mart that would listen that her Mommy just got out of jail!

If you are able to take a driving school class, then your insurance company won't ever figure out that you had a ticket.

I just paid an attorney and the ticket was dismissed. Don't let it go on your insurance.

I'm from IL and dh has been to the driving class 2 years in a row !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I told him to slow down............. right in front of the mall on a Friday! oh well, thank goodness we have the class to take..........on the other hand I've never had a ticket -just a warning ! sorry you got one!
