I became a potterhead at wwohp

I went to the early films with DD and her friends but never really paid attention to any of it. I fell in love with Hogsmeade and Diagonal Alley at UO and have since watched all of them but the last one :-)

Did you read them? The books are even better!

I tried, I really did. I read the first book to vet it before DD read it. I'm really, really, really not a fantasy, magic kind of person. My favorite movies were Philosopher's Stone and Prisoner of Azkaban so I might borrow those from DD to read. DD loves Harry Poter but had always been a Disney girl when it came to the parks (She's not a thrill ride enthusiast!) until she went to HPland in May.

Jsmla- if you weren’t a potter fan when you tried reading the books, but have since turned into one, you may actually enjoy them now.
I do not like fantasy books either, and that is what kept me from the potter books too.
But once a fan, the books are SO incredible.... waaaaaay better than the movies.

The books get better as they progress too. The later ones are better written, and written for an older audience. If you take the magic out, it’s a good vs evil with (mostly) flawed heros and (mostly) villians who aren’t totally evil.

Get the audiobooks or have your daughter read them out loud! Always makes it more fun.

Totally! The books will go down smoother now. :) Try again!

We had a potter marathon a couple of weeks ago on tv.
All the movies were shown on going......non stop..

I think we caught some of them while we were in NY........yep, they seeemd to just be on a loop for the whole weekend........every time we turned the tv on, they were on!

Passed some time while getting ready or before we went to sleep.

I was determined to know what was what in WWoHP so I sat there pretty much all day. I only have the last movie to go and it's on the DVR. I've actually "seen' it already but only went to take a friend's kids-no idea what actually happens!

Yeeeeeeesssss! I could care less about it before I stepped foot into Diagon Alley. Now I'm completely obsessed.

Hahahahaha
That’s how I was with Frozen. Didn’t know anything about it and saw the Frozen show- hysterical!
Made me want to watch it.
I can totally see Hogwarts and Diagon Alley doing that to a person!
