I am a very sensible person, well educated and reasonable. Which, I believe is why I am very freaked.

DD (6 yo) and I are alone in the house with the dogs. The dogs were outside, I am downstairs getting dinner moving and DD is obstensibly tidying her room.

I hear her exclaim from upstairs, "Hey, who touched me! Mom was that you?"

Cue the goosebumps....

No, I am downstairs. She insists that a "cold hand" grabbed her upper arm and let go.

More goosebumps. She is wearing a mask (don't ask) so I say, it must have been your mask. Nope, she is very clear in saying it was a cold hand that grabbed her and let go.

EEK! :scared1:

Creepy!

Ghostbusters, where are you? :confused3

Ok, part of Eddie Murphy's stand up routine comes to mind. Only a white person would stay in a house after something like that happens. :lmao:

That's too funny! But instead of it being something supernatural, if the girl felt someone touching her LEFT arm that can be a symptom of heart problems. I've had 5 heart attacks so I'm pretty familiar with the symptoms....

PS Sweet pix of the mustang. I've got a 67 coup with brand new paint. Now I need the rims and interior done.

OP: A MASK? :confused3 ...although if she is anything like my DS' were when they were young..they would wear HALLOWEEN customes all day long SUMMER WINTER SPRING :confused3 OH and esp in the FALL :thumbsup2

I have a rim fetish. It can be a hunk of junk, but if it has a nice set of rims then I'm mesmerized. :rotfl:

:scared: But who could the ghost be? Any ideas?

Maybe her house is built on an Indian burial ground.
:scratchin Could be.

Our old house built in the late 50's had a ghost. I had my suspicions all along the 5 years we lived there. The dog would act funny sometimes (barking and playing with someone we couldn't see). DD13 refused to sleep in her room because she didn't like it in there. When the twins were born and we brought the first one home, she would be smiling and playing with someone we couldn't see. I said it was her guardian angel. When the second baby came home the same things would happen. I truly believed they were playing with their guardian angel. DD13 would freak out when they would play with whoever it was we couldn't see. she'd get really upset. This "activity" continued until the day we moved out of that house. The twins would laugh and smile and their eyes would follow something in the air. They were almost 10 months when we moved. Instantly, it stopped. It has not happened once since we moved out of that house. It disappointed me because I really believed they had guardian angels watching over them and protecting them. They had such a rough start in life (born months early and each had several near death incidents both before and after their preterm birth). Guardian angels would have followed us to our new house, wouldn't they? I think the ghost at our old house was the gentleman who built it with his wife. He spent alot of time landscaping the yard and had won best lawn in our city several years in a row. His daughter would stop in occassionally and she would mention how much her daddy loved children and pets. He died in the hospital and so did his wife. But, I think he had come back to the house he enjoyed so much with his wife.

My first thought was I'd be checking in to a motel!

This would scare the heck out of me!!! In fact, it didn't even happen to me and it's scaring the heck out of me!!!

if you want to go with the haunting theory it is probably a residual haunting rather than an active one. think of it like a movie clip playing over and over whenver something happens. When certain conditions are correct, it starts to play out. these are usually characterized by noises, moving objects, things falling. stuff like that. I don't see any reason why it couldn't be the feeling of a cold hand.

But I'm not ghost hunter. I just play one on the internet.

ETA-a residual spirit does not know youre there, and it will not hurt you. its nothign to be afraid of, even if it seems kinda freaky.

Wow, looks like someone is bending over to pick up the baby!

To the OP, is this the first time she has said something like this? My oldest DD swears to this day that she saw a little girl in her room when she was younger and my youngest who was in that room first wouldn't sleep in it because she saw shadows. Oldest will probably be moving away for school and I told youngest that if that happens she could move in there to have her own room and she said no, told me her other sister could go there but she refuses to sleep in that room.

OMG!!! :earseek: :scared1: Smileys like this were made for pics like that! Ok, you can't just post that with no details. Was anyone there? Could it have been some funky film glitch?
It looks like your baby can see it!!

OP, I would be scared out of my mind if that was my DD or my house. I can't handle things like that very well. I'd be jumping out the window.

According to Sylvia Brown, ghosts cannot hurt you. She says you should simply tell them that they are dead and they need to go to heaven.

DD is moving into a dorm in the fall that has a ghost. It mainly resides in a room two door down from the room DD has been assigned. The ghost's name is Sarah. She was a college girl who decided to sunbath on the roof of the dorm. She propped the door to the roof open with some books, but they slipped and she was locked out. A storm came up and she was struck by lightening.

All of the kids were talking about it when we were at the college for orientation. I was afraid that DD would be scared at the thought of being so close to the girl's room. She says she is not afraid. I hope not. Kids say they see Sarah occasionally. She moves books around in their rooms and sometimes jams the doors to their rooms. When this happens, the kids just say "Sarah, let me in my room". The door opens.

OP here.

It is interesting because when DD was only a few weeks old, she was napping on our bed (with a bolster so she couldn't roll). DH came home from work and we went in to look at her (first time parents, can you tell :p ). She was awake and quietly cooing to something above her. The funny part is, we both had the thought that it was DH's mom. It was bizarre that we both thought of it at the same time, we don't talk about her much, it makes DH sad.

As for today, DD has a VERY active imagination so I think she was "imagining" something and got caught up, so no ghost.

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! :rolleyes1

Sylvia Brown also said the stock market would fall drastically when it soared during the Clinton years and that Al Gore would win the presidential election-- at least she was right about that one. She's fun to watch, but I don't believe she's "gifted."
