Right now, we have BC booked for 6 nights. I can extend my stay for 1 night (which would be a pool day and a DTD day for us, which we don't have), and it will give me a day with my sister and her kids. The only problem is I can't get the BCV for that extra night. We could do 4 nights BC and 3 nights POFQ, which would save us 400.00 overall by changing flights, downgrading the hotel, and adding a day. What do you think?

I would just make sure you end on a high note (in this case- at BCV)

I also personally like knowing that I have more than 1/2 of my trip left when moving rooms- so, I’d do the 3 nights first & end with 4. Also, if you could add this extra day at the beginning, I’d be tempted to do just 1 night at POFQ, and keep the last 6 at BC.

(I know if you must add the extra day to the end of your trip- and BC isn’t available- then all my advice is thrown out the window, but I’d still consider how the move will make you feel.)

That would be a hard no for me. BCV is far superior to POFQ (bigger rooms, better pools, better location, indoor hallways). If you really want a day with your sis and her kids just tack on 1 day somewhere else, maybe Swolphin has an opening.

I’d also keep in mind if it’s your sis & her kids first day at Disney World I can’t imagine the kids are going to be all that happy if they can’t go to a park because they have to hang out with their aunt. Not that you aren’t you cool but kids have their priorities

Book only the last night for POFQ. When you pack to leave BC, organize your suitcases so everything you need the last night is readily available. You can use the pool at BC in your check out day, if you intend to swim that day & want it to be at SAB. FQ is a nice boat ride away from Disney Springs, so it’s convenient. It will be less than you intended to spend with an extra night at BC, so you should still save some $$. Bell services will transfer your luggage to FQ. Just keep anything you’d need (like swimsuits) in a back pack with you.

I'd definitely add a day for pool time and to see my sister and kids. I agree with the pp, ideally you'd transfer just for that extra night.

I ended up canceling our last night at the BC and moving us to POFQ for 2 nights (I couldn't get 1 night at POFQ, but I could get 2- make that make sense). So we saved money moving to a mod for 2 nights vs. what we were paying for the last night at the BC, got an extra night in Disney, and saved money on flights home, too- they were cheaper on Sunday. I know I am "downgrading," but an extra night in Disney is better than a plane ride home. Thanks, everyone!

Fwiw if you ever take a future trip and find yourself in that predicament- book it and then call Disney and ask if they’ll change it to one night. Worst they do is say no, but sometimes they’ll request a higher up customer service person and they’ll change it to one night.
