Dh and I are going for our 10th ann., a few months early in Jan of 2006. The whole family is going including both sets of GPs.

I was thinking since we have built in babysitters maybe Dh and I could sneak away some night for something special but I don't want to break the bank. Any special ideas on a budget? Maybe $200 or so I am think to mark the specail trip?

TIA!!!

How about an Illuminations cruise? We did one during our honeymoon and loved it. You pay a flat price (the price includes a driver for the boat as well, but not the tip for the driver) for the whole boat. You can share the boat (on the theme parks board of this site, people post cruises they have seats to share on) to help defray the cost, or you could take the boat all by yourself. You can either take a pontoon boat out, or for a little bit more, you can take the Breathless.

Here’s a link to a page with lots of great info about Illuminations cruises: http://www.allearsnet.com/btp/illum.htm .

She's so right. An Illuminations Cruise is very nice. Maybe a romantic dinner at an Epcot restaurant , then a cruise... or since it's January and might be cold or nippy, how about dinner at the California Grill. Make your seating during the fireworks show and let them know it is for an anniversary. We have always been able to get a seat by the window for our special occasions. Or how about dinner at Narcoose's at the GF. You can schedule your seating during the fireworks and go outside on the deck and watch. We did this once and it was very nice.

Good Luck, Lisa

One of the most romantic things we did on our honeymoon was dinner at Jiko at AKL. The food was fantastic, and we had a great server. If you go, ask for Michelle. We loved her!

We also loved the Wishes cruise, and the couples massage at the GF Spa.

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary!

Thank you all so much for the ideas!!!!! Our 9th is in a few days. :goodvibes We had to pick next Jan for our trip since he is so busy at work but for 2 months of the year.

Are we twins??! :confused3 My DH and I are celebrating 9 years on May 25th. We are celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary in January as well because of my DH's work schedule! We don't have any children and no one will be joining us on the trip, but your story is almost identical to mine!! :teeth:

One of the things we are planning on doing is scheduling a photo shoot through Disney Photography. We are wanting to do it in the morning in Epcot. My DH has promised to sit down and look through our itinerary soon so that I can call and make the appointment.

We are also doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at Magic Kingdom. Some of our special meals include Le Cellier (our fave), Jiko, California Grill and Yatchsman Steakhouse.

Happy Anniversary and have a great trip! :Pinkbounc

LOL, too funny!

Have a Great time also!!!! What week are you guys going?

WOW, we don't have the date set in stone but we are planning on either the 15-21 or the next week. The big problem is that my middle DD birthday is the later week and I am afraid her sisters would be jealous if we go that week. Dh's birthday is the first week so that should be the week depending on airfare and hotel discounts, etc.

I know I would be jealous if my sibling got to celebrate their b-day in WDW. Of course, I would insist on a follow up trip during my b-day! :teeth:

Do you know what resort you are planning on staying at? I have heard that you can order a mini wedding cake from the GF. You don't have to stay there, but can order it to eat if you are dining there or can go pick it up. I'm sure the Boardwalk Bakery could do something similar.

We are doing a split stay this time to conserve our DVC points and so that each of us can stay at a resort of our choice! We are spending the first 3 nights at AKL - Concierge (DH's choice), 8 nights in a 1 bedroom at VWL (on DVC points) and 3 nights at the GF main building concierge (my choice). I'm hoping for a very magical trip. Enjoy the time with your DH and the rest of your family! :flower:

Sounds very Romantic and FUN!

We are going to stay at a Moderate, I think. Much different budget with 3 kids. ;)
