I am sooooo upset! Rude cm for adrs! Has this happened to you?

Guess what? I just wanted to give you guys an update. I did call back today and everything seems to be ok. I got a great cm this time! I did change LeCellier to a one table ressie for the same night but later. We will be eating during Illuminations, but that is ok because we are going to be at Epcot another night for this. Last night though, the rude cm told me there was nothing available. Guess it depends on who you talk to. By the time I get to WDW in June they are going to have me marked as a crazy person.

Please call back! There ARE some super nice CMs out there- I just spoke with one last night as I made a few adjustments to my ADRs. She couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful!

Thanks guys! I am starting to feel a little better. I just feel so overwhelmed as it is. I have not been to Disney since I was 15 and now I am 27. I didn't have to plan it then, my parents did. Now, I am the parent trying to make everything perfect. I am going to call back tomorrow and go over everything and hopefully get a better cm. If I don't though I might just hang up this time.

This explains why you are so upset! I understand that you want this to be perfect, but nothing is perfect and if you have huge expectations, you are bound to be disappointed at some point. Hopefully, this is the only time where that happens (pre-planning stage) and everything else is more than you imagined! Disney is in the business to exceed expectations, but sometimes expectations are so high or the CM have lost the drive to provide that extra magic. While that doesn't excuse rude behavior (IMO, nothing does,) at least you know that your ARs are intact. You will have a great time...relax, sit back, and enjoy the ride!

sorry didn/t read all the posts but the cm at adrs has nothing to do with the actual restaurant so don't cancel due to her rudeness. i got a rude rude rude one once ( for ressies, not adrs) called and complained and got the usual friendly but not really worth anything " we are sorry"call

don't let it ruin your fun in planning or the occasional rude one you might get on your trip ruin your vacation...rude people are everywhere, even at WDW

edited: having read all the posts now, i can second they keep all your old cancelations on file somewhere...i got a print out a mile long when we checked in and the cm looked at me like i was nuts...most had been canceled or supposed to be canceled but it was embarrasing none the less

That is what they get paid to do. If one is rude, chalk it up to a bad day and call back later. I have talked to 2 wonderful CM's and I always remember their names because they are Rainbow and Atlanta. They are always so great and helpful! Don't cancel any AR's just because a dining CM was rude. Most of them have never even been to the restaurants at Disney, which I think is strange. I would definately have to do some "on-the-job research" at least!

Some are not located in Florida and many can not afford to visit.

My suggestion to everyone is I see alot of random acts of kindness toward total strangers on these boards, please extend that to the other side sometimes.

You'll walk by and a CM will gasp and point and say "It's her!!!" :rotfl: just kidding

I'm a TA and call Disney over and over again all day and make crazy changes and ask them a zillion questions ("can they get a rental car w/out air? what happens if they cancel? I need the price with and without dining and insurance..."). lol

Just remember that its their job and they really don't care how many times you change stuff around- they do it all day long and don't take it personally.

I've talked to some really nice CM's though. I like when you make PS's and they say "OH my gosh you have to try the Tonga Toast!" or I had a CM the other day tell all about how he rode Expedition Everest and how cool it was. :goodvibes

P.S. re: Le Cellier: Dh & I just ate there in early FEB and all the tables APPEAR to be for FOUR, hence if you have a party of FIVE or more, it appeared to me that they would put TWO tables together to accommodate a party of FIVE....

Do you think that is what your CM meant when discussing your ADR @ Le Cellier? That they needed to give you a ressie with TWO tables? Check that out tomorrow when you call.

BUT by all means EAT @ Le Cellier, wow, it was F A B U L O U S!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Hey, I just got off the phone making ADRs and was told by the CM that "all I have at Le Cellier are two tables for your party of 5." Since we have little ones, that would not work, so I didn't make the ADR. Now I wonder if he just wasn't being clear?!?!?!

He was also a bit terse. I asked for a dinner ADR on May 9 after asking for a lunch ADR at a different restaurant. Mishearing me, he said "you cannot make two ADRs for the same time. The system won't let me do that." Which I know for a fact is false, but the way he said it was very abrupt.

That said, I usually experience excellent customer service when calling WDW Dining.

Three thoughts for you:

1. I would not worry about the two tables. We were a family of five and fairly often over the years were told we could only book two tables. In actuality, we always ended up at one table or the two tables that were pushed together.

2. From my experience, the CMs have two different screens for making ARs and cancelling them. So I find it helpful to organize what I need to change so that first I make the new ones and then cancel the original ones. Makes it easier and faster for the CM and me.

3. I agree about not trying to make everything perfect. The magic is there if you relax and let it happen.

Happy planning and have fun!!! :sunny:

You guys are the best. I seriously don't know what I would have done had I not found this board! I am sure it will be magical just seeing the look on my kids faces at WDW. I have calmed down know and I don't think I will try changing anything else!

We just got back from our wonderful 9 day vacation. I wanted to tell you that every time we made an ADR we were also told that they couldnt gaurantee that the tables would be together. We are a party of 6 with 2 kids, but with every reservation, our tables were pushed together. Dont worry, it will all work out & you will have the best vacation of your life!!! :sunny:

There was a day when all CM's were friendly and as helpful as can be. That day no longer exists. I called a couple weeks back and made ADR's for about 5 places, and the friendly CM I spoke with was all too happy to help me.

I called back a couple days later to make 1 ADR, and the CM I spoke with a miserable jerk.

Sadly, customer friendliness is obviously no longer a top priority at Disney.

I disagree with this. I still find the vast majority of WDW CMs very friendly whether dealing with DRC or CMs in the parks and resorts. I think friendliness is still a very important part of the Disney culture.

But by sheer numbers alone, there will be an occasional lemon. We all know what to do with that. ;)

i agree that crabby cms are not the norm...i think most cms are concerned with making it magical for guests but some guests( not the posters here) are expecting more and are never happy which obviously would affect the cms also. so cms might not be as over the top friendly like 20 yrs ago but neither are the guests! if a cm is rude, take it with a grain of salt and move on unless it is causing some serious problem. life at WDW is to short to let it bug you.

We ate at Le Cellier last Oct & are a party of five. We sat together, don't worry about it..Enjoy your vacation.

I called this morning to make my adr's for August. I spoke with a very friendly, efficient CM (Barbara) who knew what she was doing. Its the luck of the draw..but I wouldn't waste time on a crabby CM, I'd hang up & start over.

On 2 different trips I was told that our ADR would be at 2 tables- this was for a party of 7. Never have we been split up at the restaurant. I think it;s just an ADR formality if they run out of tables on paper, KWIm?

I think they are too. I never said they weren't. However, if the friendliness issue WAS indeed a top Disney priority, there wouldn't be as many rude CM's.

In other words, there was a time I remember when ALL the CM's were friendly and helpful. I'd say, when you call CRO, 2 out of every 5 isn't friendly, and there are more than handful of people who work at All Star Movies who were less than friendly. I dealt with 3 very rude or unhelpful people on my stay in January. And it's not because I was rude to them. I was just asking simple questions. They were just very crabby.

I am lol recalling a conversation I had last year with a CM- As we started talking I said that I need to add some more reservations to our plans. And she replied- "oh no problem I see that you are a nice person" So to that I replied "oh well thanks do you work for Santa?" and she said "No it is here on your reservation- someone posted a note with your PS's!!!" That just blew me away. So now whenever I call I am as polite as can be.. I don't want to be put on the naughty list!!

Due to some guests constantly changing ADRs, it has to get frustrating for the cms. Who knows, was the caller before you upset that they couldn't obtain a highly sought after table, we'll never know. Too many people expect perfection, even though we are all human. There are constant posts from people putting together "the perfect" trip, what an impossible goal! I have seen posts here where people are trying to change ADRs by 5 minutes, and the posters are complaining that the cms didn't even look. WDW is a big place and the phones are manned by numerous call centers. Give the cms a break and chalk it up to a bad day. I'm sure that all of us have had a bad day at one time or another :thumbsup2

I agree with everything you said, however, people calling to change ADR's is more of Disney's fault than the customers. If Disney didn't change the schedules so much, customer wouldn't have to change the ADR's. Not that I'm complaining about that. personally, it's never affected me in a bad way. But I have had to make changes to my ADR's because of park hour changes before.
