with trying to plan a itinerary for our 10/30-11/7 trip. I want to plan our days (never have done this before) to coordinate with the parks that are open latest (have the times already) and our dining plan reservations to get the most out of our week. Any suggestions? Websites for this? Thanks so much.

I am a big fan of and can happily recommend Tour Guide Mike for planning. He has great touring plans and ideas and a fabulous community of Disney fans willing to help you plan when you feel overwhelmed. It's worth every penny for the membership.

I know there are a couple other good sites for planning out there and I'm sure that someone will pop in here with that info for you so you can compare and get one that fits your needs.

you are asking a very advanced question...

get a guide book and make a list of must see attractions and would like to see attractions.

take a look at restaurants and menus and figure what and where you would like to eat.

planning meals can be tricky depending on the size of the group and the ages of your party, I have had great success with doing early breakfast buffet and counter service for late lunch/dinner when I want to maximize time in the parks... if you are looking for sit down dinner, plan to eat early enough that you can still make the nighttime spectacular.

Evening EMH can be deceiving... depending on the time of year it can be overwhelmingly busy. Morning EMH is best use of an hour, if you get to the parks at opening you can often get more seen and done before lunch than you can the rest of the day. Then you have the rest of the day to work in parades and spectaculars.

This is my 5th time going in 7 years so we are very familiar with the parks etc. We usually just go day by day when we get the WDW but this year I wanted to plan A BIT in advance and actually have reservations prior to arriving. I am just trying to coordinate the meals with the late hours at the parks.

You are going next month and have not made your ADRs??? I think you need to start calling and have a backup plan. I've seen several posts now of folks not having much luck getting ADRs, at least at the more popular places. If you are planning to eat at the resorts, you should be OK. I just made an ADR for the Turf Club for Friday 10/24 with no problem for a party of 2. Good luck and let us know how the ADRs work out for you.

My advice is to not panic if you can't get any ADRs:eek: First off, a WDW vaca should be more about the entertainment (rides, shows etc...) than the food. Secondly, there's a wide assortment of counter service foods available at EPCOT, MK, and AK (burgers, salads, dogs, pizza, salads and bbq, for starters, not to mention World Showcase, and Sunshine Seasons in EPCOT) also, you could get lucky with a walk up for an early lunch or dinner (a late supper may not fly w a 5 y old) also, if staying onsite, don't discount the resort food court for lunch (if leaving the park for a break, or dinner if returning to the resort early (laundry night :laundy: ) There are also plenty of resort TS that may have space for walk-ups, or day-of ADR, if you call that morning, or the day before. Have a great time, and don't expect to see **everything** ((no one ever does on their first couple of trips, thats the fun of planning another!)) :thumbsup2 :grouphug:

Don't be too disappointed if you can't get the ADR's you want this late in the game but maybe you will! You might have to think "outside the box" and do some ADR's that are very good but overlooked by the majority of the people. For instance The Grand Floridian Cafe, Kona Cafe, perhaps if your staying at a resort that has a sit down restaurant, Wolf Gang Puck Cafe and I know there are a million others I'm not thinking of! Also if you really wanted character dining this late in the game you might have to be REALLY flexible on the times to get the ADR's! Anyway, no matter what you will have a great trip it's Disney after all!

Believe it or not I have gotten all of the reservations that I wanted SO FAR. And at the times I wanted and I just started making reservations yesterday! But NOW I am second guessing my choices. UGH

It looks like you're off to a great start!:thumbsup2

The Crystal Palace is so perfectly Disney, Liberty Tree tavern has great food, and the 50's Prime Time Cafe is sooooo much fun.

The only ADR I might think of changing is your dinner at Boatwright's. My family and I ate their on our 2003 trip while staying at POR, and we were slightly disappointed. For the prices, there is much better food to be found on property.

Have a great time planning your trip!! And keep us updated!

We are staying at POR and thought it might be an easy way to wrap up the first day.....

Wow, your ADR's look great. I'm glad you were able to get what you wanted! Way to go!:cool1:
