I had everything ready and on the table at 12:00pm. I was one happy camper to know that all of that cooking is over.....at least for this year.
We had turkey, dressing, broccoli-rice-n-cheese casserole, sweet potato casserole, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, rolls, green beans, deviled eggs, chicken-n-dumplins, potato salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, fresh fruit salad, and cranberry sauce. All of it was put together by me, most of it from scratch.
The obsessive planning skills learned here on the DIS came in quite handy. I work 5 days a week, so in order to get this all done, I started with the cooking on Saturday, bit by bit, dish by dish, getting it all together. I was so pleased that my inlaws enjoyed their meal. I have to admit, that was one more awesome turkey breast. I did a brine soak for 48 hours and roasted it in an oven bag. It was heavenly. My inlaws said that I put on a better holiday meal than they do.

I felt pretty good about that. Maggie
