I am so frustrated with this little dog!!!

Thanks for the info again. I can honestly say I have done all of the above. We have Nature's Miracle for cleaning up after her, she is crate trained, I tell her to "go potty" and praise her when she does. I've tried the treat thing and she doesn't seem to care whether or not she gets a treat, her buddy next door, Kobe, comes in the dog yard and does his thing and it hasn't seemed to help train her. She is 7 months old! I know people say that it can take over a year but SHEESH it's getting old. My carpets are destroyed. The stains just keep coming back after steam cleaning them.

I just needed a good vent and a reminder to keep at it. My mistake this morning was not putting her directly back in her crate.

Noodles: You think you're so smart. I've already talked to Erin about sending Lilo to her for training. She said when she gets back from Mississippi this summer she would be happy to. Now, guess what D's response was???

We used nature's miracle too and it didn't work. My vet said to get "no more icky poo" It is something you can only get on the internet. We ended up ripping up the whole carpet, but you may want to try the no more icky poo.

No advice--sometimes it's just the dog. I have a Jack Russell Terrier that took me well over 2 years to housetrain. Sometimes she still pees in the house. I have had several other dogs before her and they were all trained within weeks.

I respectfully disagree with the prior advice-I have had 5 Springer Spaniels-and it never took me longer than a week to potty train any of them.

So you have no idea how to train a small dog or a terrier.

Spaniels are hunting dogs and bred to obey and listen, plus they are bigger and their bladder/bowel is more mature.
Small terriers are not reliably pottytrained until they are at least 6-7 months, due to their small size and stubborness. Other small breeds can take at least as long.
