I am so frustrated!! UPDATED 14/03

I tried to contact the woman today to chase up my deposit and her office number is now a dead number. I rang around and managed to get hold of her mobile, I finally spoke to her and she said that she will send me my deposit back. I am not hopeful though as when I rang the company she rents her office from to get a number they told me that they have not seen her for several weeks and that she is behind on her rent and council tax. She clearly took my appointment and money with no intention of keeping to it. I have reported her to trading standards.

can you see if small claims court can do anything?
did she have any membership to any professional body you can go through?

I seem to remember seeing something about hypnotherapists on TV recently - I think it might have been on the One Show.

They said that there is no professional body as such and to always go through your GP to get recommendations of reliable ones.
