We are planning a quick trip for March 14-17..... I have tried bidding on priceline for a resort two seperate times with no luck...even using the $10 bonus email...
Anyway, for the exciting news....
I have never tried hotwire....I read some info on it on the biddingfortravel board...
So I decided to try...
I got the DOLPHIN ...for $82.00 a night.... I cannot believe it...I might have been able to get it a little cheaper on priceline, but I would not be able to bid again for 72 hours..
Anyway, this was in the price range that I wanted...and Hotwire came through for me on the first try...
I found it under the Walt Disney World Lake Buena Vista area, it was listed as a four star (by hotwire standards)....
Sorry to carry on, but I wanted to explain the frustration and that I got a great deal in my opinion....
DD is so excited because she has never stayed there before and she really enjoys the countries at Epcot.
Ok...I will stop now...Thanks for letting me share...

Great news! Congratulations on your deal!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hope you have a fantastic time!:)

That is fantastic!

Do you know before you commit what hotel you're getting with hotwire? I love priceline and have used it a number of times for overnights, but I'm not willing (so far) to do it for Disney b/c I'm picky about where we stay. I've been toying with doing it for the first couple nights this summer b/c we're doing a two-week vacation (second week not at Disney) and need to cut expenses some.

They dont tell you where (name and adress of hotel) until you book the reservation, however, I looked on www.biddingfortravel.com ( Im sure you have heard about it). There was a post on there from someone who needed a couple of extra nights around NYE. They posted that they used hotwire and picked Lake Buena Vista area and the 4 star that showed up (their option was $90.00)...and it was the Dolphin. So, when I tried the same thing, mine showed up extacly the same just $82.00....I was nervous, but took a chance and got it. I figured that if it wasn't the Dolphin that came up, it had to be pretty decent for $82.00.
The look on DD face when I told her was worth twice as much....I will certainly use it again if needed. Not that I am giving up on priceline, just glad to know that I have another option.

I've been thinking about using Priceline or Hotwire for our 1st night in March, before going over to BWV, & Dolphin would be so great (I know it's not guaranteed), but I have a question--Did the $82 include taxes and fees, or if not, would you tell me what they were? I'm trying to keep that night's cost below $100, and this would help my decision............Thanks!

It seems like Priceline tends to have the Swan, and now Hotwire the Dolphin........?

We just used hotwire for a reservation and will never use them again. We had an awesome hotel. However, the site was very unclear on the fact that what they have listed are actually different levels of hotels (ie: $39, $45, etc.) A friend and I were planning a weekend getaway, and we hotwire. Since we both use mypoints, we booked them seperately to get the points. It does not say anywhere on their site that you have to book together to get the same hotel.

Anyway, point being, don't count on the $82 one always being the Dolphin. I know at that price range and in that area, it can't be too many others, but just so you know.

To be guranteed the same hotel on any of these type of sites all rooms need to be bid or requested at the same time on the same request. Inventory does change minute by minute.

I have used both Hotwire and Priceline and been very happy with both, but you really need to be sure you can live with what you get.

KathleenFL,
Here are the billing details that I got. Hope this helps.

No. Rooms: 1
No. Nights: 3
Price per night: $82.00
Subtotal: $246.00
Taxes/Booking Fee: $33.95
Total Price: $279.95

Also, dont forget that usually the resorts in this area charge a daily resort fee...$8.00 to $10.00...I think that the Dolphin is $10.00 and I know that Gaylord Palms is $10.00.
Hope this is what you needed...
