I dont' even know how I am going to catch up with all this scrapping!
I have stream lined my books. THought about what is important to me and what I think will be for my kids.
I really want their school books to be up to date. Same with scouting. Usually by this time I have all of last years school and scout/sports up to date. I am no where caught up!
I have DD school year almost done. My son's stops at Halloween last year! UGH@ I already have pictures for this year....about 5 events between the two kids!
I need to get some motivation! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've given up on my Christmas album and even the family album....I still our Disney trip from last April to do....UGH!

You are not alone, I have so much to catch up on and lately when I sit down to try and make progress, I feel so overwhlemed that I keep on procrastinating.

I'm right there with ya. :D I think the only thing that is remotely close to being up to date is kate's school album. I finished 3rd grade and have the first part of 4th grade done (first day of school which was easy because I only took like one picture). I'm just waiting on the class photo for the other side of that 2 page layout. I have like 5 field trips to scrap though... thinking that is going to be a 2 page layout with all of them that we've done so far. :D I did scrap her very first soccer game (inner school game) since I found some cool paper in hershey... (thanks for the tip on the scrapbook store sondra) maggie

This will probaby freak lots of people out, but I'll never be caught up and that realization is not overwhelming to me... LOL!! I scrap what I want when I want. (Everything is in order in my books.) Whether I get all their pictures scrapped or not, my boys will still have lots of books to cherish (they each have 9 ATM and my youngest is only 4). I do it because I love it and it's a creative outlet for me. I don't rush through it just to get it done.

Have fun with it... when the kids are older, they'll appreciate it no matter what.

No way will I ever be caught up. In fact I decided not to even try because I'd just get stressed. So I took a different approach. Since I started with Scout books - those I try to keep up to date. DS is pretty good (a court of honor a couple weeks ago to do) and DD is except for the Silver Award project photos and that just happened in Sept so I don't feel bad there.

I didn't even try to back track to baby days. I started DS's school stuff with high school - I figure that will be most important for the graduation open house. Will do the same with DD.

If by some miracle those are "caught up" I'll go back and start middle school, etc. What gets done, gets done.

Well... those of you who read my recent post looking for a page title KNOW how behind I am.... DS is 6 1/2 and I am just finishing his first year book! DD is 9 and her first year book is completed, but that is it!! And our 2002 Disney trip is done except for the final 2 pages (I cannot find just the right paper).

I've decided for now that I will just do "big" events.... Christmas, Easter, birthdays, first day of school, and vacation and leave it at that. When I am feeling more caught up I will go back and do other events like sports, Halloween and misc. things. It is REALLY hard for me to scrap out of chronological order... it is sort of an OCD thing with me .... but at this point I feel it is the ONLY way I will ever be even the least bit caught up! .......P

I was never caught up to begin with!! LOL!!
I'm even further behind since I haven't scrapped in about 9 months. I was so busy last year volunteering at the kids' school, then we had the busy summer and moved in mid-August. We've been in an apartment since then while our house is being built and the majority of our stuff is in storage. I brought my scrapping stuff with us but I can't get motivated and I don't have space to leave stuff out so I'd have to pack it all up again each time. Yuck!
And I don't know what album to start next. I hate that! Once I decide I'm sure I'll get into the habit again. Plus, the new house is going to have a hobby room for my scrapping and ds's legos!!!:D

I am trying to just keep up with the recent stuff. That stuff is MUCH easier, because it's fresh in my mind. SLowly but surely, I'll get around to the other stuf, but it helps me from feeling more and more behind after each vacation/event.

I'll never be caught up either!!! And, I try not to stress about it. I know that is easier said than done. Anyways, I put all my pictures in regular photo albums. I found some albums at ROSS that sell for under $8 a piece and hold 500 photos (5 per page) and are acid free. I just put the pictures in order and I put the duplicates as well in the album. This way we can still look at pictures I haven't scrapped and for me it is easier to see them than in a box. This way I feel like I enjoy scraping more.

((HUGS))!

I don't know if I will ever get caught up either. I am just new to scrapbooking, started this year in May so I have everything past and present that I want to do.

I just work on as much as I can at a time and do what I can do and know that someday maybe I will be there.

I just think of it as having fun and getting them in and try not to think about being so overwhelmed with "Will I ever be caught up??"

I must admit my power sort box has helped me a lot though, by figuring out what albums I really want to do and I am going from there. You already have made that progress by knowing what albums you want done.

Just try and have fun :)

I am not caught up, but I am close! DD is 5 and I am on year 4 with her. DS is 7 and I just got done is year 6 book, so not too bad! In the Disney books, I only have one more trip to scrap and I will be caught up on that as well!

I decided when the kids reached the age of 5, that would be it for monthly scrapbook pages. From year 5 and on, they are only holidays or major events like First Day of School or Halloween, ect. It is too overwhelming to do them monthly for me.

:)

I am less than a year behind on all of my albums, but I figure I will never be caught up as there is always something new to take pictures of with 3 kids. I actually have one DS caught up but I just took in 5 rolls of film so I am sure that will change. I also have 2 WDW trips from this year I need to scrap but waiting for swap to be over to do those

I try not to stress about it. I figure once the kids move on to college, there will be less pictures so less scapping. Maybe I'll get caught up then.

Glad to see I am in the same boat as so many! I really don't mind being behind on many of my pictures. I take a ton and now that I am digital you can imagine the amounts of pictures I now have!
I just really need to sit down and get the school books done! It is very important to me. So hopefully this week I can start. I cleaned like crazy today so won't have to deal with that for awhile. Tomorrow we are going to Hawk mountain for the day. So maybe Wed and Thr I can pull out my stuff!

I started scrapping in 2001, with pictures from 1999(happened to be what I grabbed). I only do family albums in order and also separate vacation albums. On my vacation albums, I am in 2002!
Which is four albums. On my family albums I am up to 2003...I have done a total of 400 pages this year! I would LOVE to complete 2003 on my family albums before the end of the year!
I have spent alot of time organizing the gazillion photos I have taken since I have gone digital and I have spent a fortune lately getting photos printed! Of course it does not help that when I go to a all day crop that I only finish two pages(guess I talk too much!)

I have some friends who are caught up...I keep trying to give them some of my pictures to work on...LOL

Several years ago I used to do alot of cross stitching. I found this really cute little saying w/a cute little bear in bib overalls
bending over w/his head between his legs. It said "I'm so far behind I think I'm ahead!" Well, that's me. Especially when it comes to scrapbooking. I'm STILL working on our Disney album from June 2004, then want to do my 25th and DH's 30th class reunion from LAST year. Also need to get the family album caught up..it's up to June 2003. Right now I have "scrappers block" and
just can't seem to get motivated. I did only 3 pages over the weekend and altho I'm happy w/them I need to do more than that! I'm only on day 3 of our 8 day vacation in June so need to get moving! Going to a crop party Friday night so hoping I can get alot done then. I just need to get motivated! My problem is during the day I'm working on the computer trying to get business for my travel agency. Then when my kids get home from school we have homework, church activities, and soccer. Dinner, baths and bed by 8:30 then kitchen to clean up and the rest of chores I didn't finish during the day. Sometimes I'm so tired when I finally sit down, I fall asleep in the recliner and never have a chance to even THINK about what I want to do much less actually do it!!

It's good to know I'm in the same boat w/so many nice people!!

Have a great day!

Karen - Your saying is my life. It takes me back to my track days. I'm so far behind I think I'm ahead is just like a runner that's about to be lapped! Luckily that didn't happen to me too often, but it's a phrase that does describe my life now! I think anyone who's not behind to some extent, just doesn't do enough or take enough photos!!!
