I am so angry - need your opinions !!!

Sorry being late in updating - tbh I am washed out with DH being away :headache:

In the end the teacher withdrew Lewis punishment as she spoke to some other kids and a clearer picture was painted.

The other boy was punished and his mother told :confused3

The boy appoligised to Lewis and Lewis is happy so rightly or wrongly am going to leave it at that :headache:

All my colleagues in the playground are watching now ;)

 I'm so pleased that it's been resolved Jackie  Big hugs to you all

I'm glad it has been resolved. Hope Lewis is ok now:hug:

Jackie sorry you are having to cope with this on your own.. but know that your DIS pals are here :grouphug:

Well done mother tiger for sticking in there for one of your cubs :goodvibes

glad you got it sorted.
unfortunately as teacher often our hands are tied, my ds was 5 when he started getting bullied - it was racial, but as he is white (hes french like his dad;)) the head chose to ignore my complaints, so i chose to speak to each parent in the playground. they were all mortified, both about the heads attitude and their childs behaviour.
last week my youngest now 6 was being victimised by the some boys, i called the head, and it was dealt with, kids spoken to and parents of the boys called within an hour. he knows i know the system, and no longer trips my like an idiot!
well done for standing up for your son, and what you believe in, next time you will be treated with more respect, as you have earnt it!:thumbsup2

As a headteacher of a Primary School, i've followed this thread with great interest. Jackie - I am appalled that a teacher would have sanctioned your son without fully investigating the incident. If, as it looks as it was, your son had absolutely nothing to do with instigating the attack, I would have temp. excluded the child who attached him. Bullying in any form is not tolerated at my school. I am dismayed that the other parent would have the gumption to laugh it off (i'd have had her in my office too!)

Although, I don't know the whole situation, in my school, it is likely that the witness children would have been spoken to very sternly about their responsibilities to TELL when they saw the situation getting out of control!!

The school has put quite a lot of stress on you and your son becuase they did not deal with a situation well and carefully enough.

I would consider writing a formal complaint to the Head and/or Chair of Governors - regardless of whether you are a member of staff or not (YOUR son comes before your job in school - they are completely different things!!) I would insist on an apology as well. Ask your headteacher for a copy of the new Parents Guarentee and read it (makes for some very interesting reading about behaviour of other children in school!)

Not sure if this would work since the OP's son is in the Scottish education system and this is a delegated authority to the Scottish Government.
