If you read all the fine print Disney has on their site, you will see that the only thing truly guaranteed is a room on property. I have also been around long enough to have heard more then a few stories of people being "guaranteed" connecting rooms and not getting them. They do not block off these rooms ahead of time and connecting is NOT a bookable category so there is no way for them to track this.

Just have a back up plan. Disney does really try to get them for you, but having a plan B is always a good idea.
