YAY!!! I forgot how much a relief it was to be done courses in college.

I recently got the idea to go back to school . My advisor suggested a summer accelerated math and literature class. The match class was a bear and a half... this is one of my requrired courses for graduation... and it was horrible!!!!!

I had a poor average.. very bad.. and then I got a 97 on the final chapter test.. Me, who has never gotten an A on a math test ever, let alone in college! It brought my grade up to a transferable grade and has me in position to get a B as a final grade!

The final was tonight, and I was sweating it out... I was stumped on only two questions, so we will .

So, if you are told to take Math Reasoning for Elementary Students... run, far far away..... it was really tough!

YAY! no more math classes!

::sigh::
Still have differential equations 2, then maybe a few more classes for a math minor.

Congrats though.

Congratulations, Cindy!!! I remember the joy of my final math class in college too! It's such a great feeling and something to be proud of!!!

Quit your bragging Einstien! LOL!

Kirk, you took the words out of my mouth....

I've seen enough equations, Venn Diagrams, symbols, and approximation thoery to last me a lifetime...

It took me almost a year after I finished my College Algebra class to not chant the quadratic formula on a regular basis.

Congrats on finishing your math class, Cindy.:)

Browneyes: negative b, plus or minus the square root of b squared minus 4ac, all divided by 2a

Congratulations, CindyB

yay! :) i'm very happy the only math i had to take in college was stats, LOL.

Congratulations Cindy!

I loved that class! Now you'll be able to help a lot of kiddos here on the DIS when they'er stuck!

Congratulations again!

Congrats, Cindy! I just passed Pre-Algebra 2 with a B last week. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I'm not a math person either. On to Intermediate Algebra in the fall. Then I still have College Algebra, then either in the direction of Calculus (no way!) or whatever math is for Education majors.

Pin Wizard.. here it is here for education majors... at my school anyway..

Back in 1988, I took Algebra. Then the next smester I took Statistics.

This one was Math Reasoning and Stuctural Systems for Education. It was a K-12 math course designed for education majors. But the emphasis was on 12th grade, we were doing Alg II and trig... ! Yikes!

I actually learned a lot. There was so much to learn in a very short time (4 weeks/3 nights a week!).

With us for Education majors, after College Algebra comes Liberal Arts math. I hear it's a step backward from Algebra. :teeth: I need to check after that. My pre-algebra 2 course was a 6-week summer course, 4 days a week. I can't imagine doing yours in 4 weeks! But it sure beats the usual 16 week courses!! I get so bored with those right after mid-term. :(

Ow, Ow Ow! As a math teacher it's so painful to read how much everyone enjoys NOT having math *sigh*

But... CONGRATULATIONS! Summer courses really are tough because of the much faster pace. I am teaching 2 courses this summer and it has been a tough session.

As a counselor said to me a couple weeks ago, it's a hoop to jump through in college. I'll never use the stuff again.

Actually I will use this again.. one of the students in the class has taken his Praxis I & II. He stated that most of the math in Praxis II was in this class.

I took over 200 pages of notes...so I will be up and ready for Praxis II !

Congratulations Cindy!! I taught a college Math class long time ago which was quite an experience for me to be on that side of the desk!! :D :bounce:
