I am nuts.....for bringing the in-laws-a May/June 2011 TR.

Ok, I guess it's time for me to reveal the plan.

We are going with............................................

Shannon's plan. We will leave home on Wednesday evening and drive half way. On Thursday morning we will continue on to Disney World. We plan on arriving by lunch time. We will head to the parks on Thursday afternoon and Friday. We are undecided if we will sleep in Orlando Friday night or at the Port.

Next big plans....we will also be taking a separate trip to Disney World either at Thanksgiving or Christmas.

A park ticket for us to go before the cruise for two days is outrageously priced!! :scared1: So we decided to get annual passes. :dance3: and we will have a year of Disney. We will go for the cruise, for Thanksgiving or Christmas and for Mardi Gras of 2013. And we may throw in another trip somewhere along the way.

Sorry for the lack of pics, I will get back to the TR soon. I really want to finish it up.

That is an awesome plan!!! Congrats on the AP's! :yay:

Y'all will have a wonderful year of Disney! :thumbsup2

I am already trying to plan everything. I did make a room only reservation for Thanksgiving week, just in case we decide on this week. :woohoo:

We decided to use our FP’s for TSM before we moved to far away.

I was a little worried how MIL would fare on this one. She did not complain about getting in line, so I didn’t say anything.

Silly girls waiting in line:

MIL and FIL rode together, the girls rode together and Shannon and I rode together.

Shannon beat me, just a little.

She actually liked this one. :scared1:

It was still drizzling a bit, more of a misty rain.

We headed to the Backlot Tour.

I will stop here for a minute, Photobucket is freezing up on me.

We then toured the Streets of America. Madi was being her usual funny self. She can be so silly sometimes.

This fire hydrant and the rain made some water puddles and Madi was having a blast. I wish I wouldv'e taken pics, all I have is video and I don't know how to upload video.

It was starting to rain again, so we ducked into the Muppets Vision 3-D with a 5 minute wait. Madi still doesn’t like 3-D movies. I love them, and Disney does them so well.

We decided to head back to the other end of the park to try and get one more ride on RNRC before we have to leave the park.

On our way there, I wanted to try a cupcake from Starring Rolls Café. I heard so many great things about them here on the Dis. I almost got the butterfinger cupcake, but decide on the Red Velvet Cheesecake Cupcake, because I figured that Shannon would share with me and his favorite cake is Red Velvet.

Well, he was willing to help me eat it and all I can say is it was Delicious. I would definately get this again. Next time, I will get the butterfinger cupcake to try. I will just have to eat it by myself!!! The kids got snacks from the candy store, Sweet Spells.

Looks like y'all were having a lot of fun in DHS! And I can't believe your MIL even liked a ride! True Disney magic! :lmao:

Score on the annual passes. It's going to be a fun year of planning all these trips.

Oh, that cupcake looks delicious.

Joining in!!! Just found your trip report and got all caught up!! Loving all your pics and stories of the inlaws :)

I just need to stay organized!! :lmao:

The cupcake was delicious. I can eat one right about now!!!

I was surprised she liked it. I think it is a little rough when the ride cars spin around, but she didn't say anything!

We headed down Sunset Boulevard. I got in line for TOT and they would wait for me by RNRC. I waited about 20 minutes for TOT and by the time I got to RNRC, the wait time was 40 minutes. We decided we didn’t want to wait, so we headed out of the park to our ADR.

We had an ADR for 6pm at the Whispering Canyon Café.

Our waiter, Bob, was great. My in-laws were not into the whole theme here. We all ordered the skillet. It was great as usual. We did order ketchup, just because. :rotfl: After Jaden used some, my FIL wanted to put all the bottles on the empty table next to us. We told him we couldn’t that we had to leave them on our table till someone asked for ketchup and we have to bring them over. Well, when they called for ketchup, my in-laws did not get up and bring ketchup. Party Poopers!!!

We headed back to the resort for a little rest and relaxation. We swam for a while. I was tired. We even decided to cancel our Breakfast ADR at the Crystal Palace for the following morning and decided to sleep in.

Sorry for the lack of pictures. I don't know why I didn't take any at the Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Just caught up with your trip report, it has been great fun to read. We went with my in-laws in 2009 and I know just how you feel :sad2: My husband declared that we will NEVER travel with his parents again!

We are so looking forward to our trip this June just the four of us

I'm also loving all your food pics. We are staying off-site, but I just booked Ohana for breakfast because it looked like so much fun and the food looked great!

Looking forward to more of your adventures.

Why am I not surprised that your in-laws didn't like the antics at Whispering Canyon? It's defnitely less fun to do restaurants like that & 50's Prime Time when the whole group isn't in to it.

Another LA reader joining in!

Finally caught up on everything! Great TR so far!

So awesome for y'all to get the AP's!

:wave2: Shannon has said we will never travel with his parents to DW again. I don't think we have anything to worry about, I don't think they will be going back.

We had the most relaxing trip when we went just the four of us.

Ohana for breakfast is great. The characters are fun, the food is outstanding and the kids loved it.

I thought they would like it. They are usually easy going people. When my parents came, it was the same thing, but my parents are kinda reserved.

Love your trip report!! We are headed to WDW in October.
While looking over your food reports, I think we will try Whispering Canyon.
There are sooooo many places we have not eaten yet. Thanks for the info.

We had a Bob as our waiter back in 2009...wonder if it was the same one? He was terrific with the kids and we had a ball with him.

Too bad your in-laws couldn't play along....especially for the kids! We love WCC and can't wait for another trip so we can go again....it's such fun!

:wave2: I think October would be a great time to go. It seems like it wouldn't be as hot as the summer.

Whispering Canyon for dinner is so much fun. It's not for the shy or embarrassed. We have so much fun doing the hokey pokey and we order ketchup just to have all the bottles brought to us. I so wish I would've taken a picture of all the ketchup at our table.

There are so many that we have tried that are awesome and we keep going back, and then there are sooo many we want to try, but we can't seem to give up the ones we love. Decisions. Decisions..... :confused3 :rotfl:

Waiter Bob was an older guy about 50ish. He was very abrupt, but in the fun Canyon way!!!!! :rotfl: He was great.

Our last full day. :sad1:

As you remember, we cancelled our Crystal Palace ADR, just because we were tired. We decided to sleep in. And sleep in we did, til about 10 am. A little later than I wanted to, but it sure did feel good.

The in-laws we not in their room when we got up. After we were dressed, we headed out in search of them. They were sitting outside the food court. They had already eaten breakfast. We decided that we wanted to eat at the Main Street Bakery for breakfast because we didn’t have a cinnamon roll yet. Which is a must do.

The in-laws were going to head to DTD to do some shopping and they would meet us at MK later on. Great! A little alone time. We left the resort about 11:30am.

We made our way to Main Street Bakery and ordered 2 cinnamon buns to share. They were delicious. My kids love cinnamon rolls.

Then, the next item on our agenda was to have the girls’ hair braided. I knew they had a little stand near POTC ride. So off we went. There were only two girls waiting in line. I had promised them, so we waited. Shannon went and got us FP’s for Splash Mountain while we waited.

The finished product:

I didn't get a close up picture of Madi's braid. Her's had little bells on the end, so every time she moved, we knew where she was. They kept them in all through the summer.

Then we did something we never did before, the Country Bear Jamboree. It was a little boring, but I’m glad we did it.

Just as we were heading out CBJ, my FIL called that they were at the park. We met up with them at the Liberty Bell.
