with only 1 firework display and no floats, well i now know why its kids go free and so much discount of, i was wondering if there was a catch and now there seems to be, i just persumaded that they would have a parade on, now how can i explain that one to the kids, jake in particular was looking forward to seeing the floats, as he has seen pics of his aunts vist, oh well looks like i will have some very upset kids on my hands, are any of the rides open?? i am now thinking what have i spent money on, and is it worth cancelling and going later in the year.???????//

what are you talking about????

I don't know WHEN in March you are going, but at the beginning of March, there is:
- The wonderful world of Disney parade (many floats!)
- The Legend of the Lion King (a show many people love)
- The Jungle Carnival
- The Carnival under the Sea
- Carnival dance Party
- Carnival Finale

Even without the Carnival, the parade is still GREAT!
There haven't been fireworks in a long time, there won't be any in a long time.

At the Disney Studios, there is:
- Disney Cinema Parade (oh, many floats again!)
- Animagique
- Cinemagique
- Lights, moteurs, Action!

Yes, there is no Fantillusion, that only runs in July-August and during the Christmas season.
BUT since there won't be that many people IN the park, you will get so much more picture opportunities with characters in the park, less waiting time for rides, ...

They is a daily parade at 4.00pm and they is also one in the studios.
You still have all the characters at meet and greet. I am sure your children will have a great time!

I actually prefer the evenings when there aren't any parades!!! The park still looks absolutely beautiful all lit up, but without the crush of people waiting to see the parade.

You can still enjoy the afternoon parades in the Disneyland Park and the Studios, and just about all the rides, except Storybookland and Autopia, are scheduled to be open during your visit. And it's not just about the rides and parades - the whole place, particular the Disneyland Park, will seem magical to your children. pixiedust:

Please don't worry Jane. Honestly, if you don't all have a wonderful time, I'll eat my hat!!! ;)

Girl you are getting too stressed about this holiday already - I think you have pressed your 'panic mode' button ;). We visited last March and we going back AGAIN this March only for MORE days!!! And you know what?- we are already thinking ahead to March 2007!

There is one fiework display on St Patricks night and then on top of that the daily parade in the park at 4.00 (this IMHO is the best parade for children to enjoy) -it is a lovely parade with many of the princesses (Belle, Snow White, Ariel etc) and with some pretty elaborate floats. Of course Mickey and Minnie have a float of there own (Steam-boat Willie) and the dancers that go with the parade add to the magic too! Ok so there is no night-time parade but honestly I don't think your little ones would have enjoyed this as much as the daytime parade. Last year (in March) the Fantillusion parade was on at night-time - as an adult I enjoyed it but my 4yr old DS had to be taken back to the hotel a few minutes into the parade as he was really VERY frightened when the baddies appeared and the music became scary. Even my 7yr old will tell you that he much more enjoyed the daytime parade! And don't forget there is also a smaller parade daily in the studios plus there are always characters wondering about for photo-opportunities and autograph collecting. In the studios Mickey (and sometimes Minnie) make a daily appearance by there own little caravan each day - where you can buy a photo of your child with them (they are not really cheap but a must for a first visit).

You know you WILL have so much fun. I think it is extremely hard to appreciate how much there is to do (beside the parades) in the parks - the official website certainly doesnot give a real impression of the scale of the park and how many little things there are to keep you busy!

What with the rides in the park and those in the Studios, the two parades, Lion King, special character meals and character pictures, the stunt show, Cinemagique, Animagique and those rides that the children want to go on again and again (!!), plus all the walking and the facilities you can enjoy at the hotel - well lets just say you will have to work hard to cram it all in:)

So relax a little and enjoy - you have (probably) paid a lot of money for this holiday and it will be worth every penny. :grouphug:

(edited to add: If you want some more persuading - PM me your email addy and I will email some pics from our holiday last March from the daytime parade etc)

Relax, enjoy looking forward to your trip. Go with a positive outlook. :goodvibes You are going to Disneyland Paris after all - it's magic. :wizard: There will be loads to do & see in both parks. As well as the usual parade the Kids Carnival is also on until the 12th of March. I'm going at the beginning of March also & can't wait. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

(Take warm clothing (think in layers maybe), incl gloves it could still be on the cold side beginning of March)

Hope you all have a great time, as l'm sure you will. :)

thanks i have just rang disney and we miss the kids carnival by a few days, which i wasn't aware of, stupid me for booking without reading the brochure properly, but i spoke to a cm whilst booking a character tea and they will be having daily parades at 4pm, which will suit us fine as the kids will not be to tired/hungry and i have booked a character tea as well, now should i book a character b'fast as well???

Character breakfast at Cafe Mickey is the best, and you can also have character dinner there (but you don't have to pre-book the dinner, especially not when you go in low season. On the day you want to go to a table service restaurant, go a couple of hours in advance to City Hall for a reservation) (but you better get character breakfast reservations in advance)

In the studios, in the morning (I think 10.30 am), there is an extra "mini parade" where the characters come out in their cars, and after that, you get opportunities to take pictures with each of them.

If you stay in a Disney-hotel, characters have "picture moments" there in the morning too, in the lobby is a schedule of which character is there at what time.

Jane looks like everyone has offered very good advice and reassurance. I'm sure you'll have a great time :)

Jane - you'll have a super time.
We had our first trip in March 04 for 3 days, we didn't have enough time to do everything and what I thought was our "once in a lifetime" trip turned into we're going back at Halloween.

As Quack has said it's impossible to get an idea of the scale of the park before you've actually visited - I guarantee you'll be hard pushed to find the time to fit everything in.

BTW. this is our third visit and I've yet to see the fireworks, just another reason to book another trip. :thumbsup2

Jane, I agree you will have a super time, full stop! We have been twice now, for 5 nights each time, and still have things to do that we haven't done yet!

Honestly, you will have a fabulous holiday! :teeth:
