I am not a DVC member but would you pick the regular AKL or the AKL VILLAS?

First the disclaimer: AKV is my home resort.

Now the questions: how many people are going? If you did AKV, would you be looking for a studio or would it be a larger room? Are you planning on getting a savannah view?

Now if you have more than 4 people including kids, I would go for an AKV 2 bedroom.

If you have less than 4 people, want a Savannah view and would only be looking for an AKV studio, then I have 2 answers:
- If you would rather be closer to the animals then go for AKL since the rooms are on floors 2-4 (i.e. closer to the animals)
- If you would rather look down on the view, then look at AKV (floors 5 & 6).

Also, if you were looking at an AKL room versus an AKV studio and you wanted 2 beds, you may want to go with the AKL room since the AKV studio has a queen bed plus a pull-out sofa bed (full size).

OK, another question: do you want a room with bunkbeds? If so, then you will need to go with AKL.

With 4 of you, would you want a studio or would you prefer a 1 bedroom? The 1 bedroom will cost you twice as much but you will also get a kitchen area, a washer & dryer, and definitely more space. With a Savannah view 1 bedroom, you will also get a pull-out chair in addition to the pull-out (queen) sofa.

I am taking my niece and nephew next November with my sister (their mom) tagging along. I decided to go with a 1 bedroom to give us (ok me ) more space.

another disclaimer: I am also a dvc member and one of the reasons I joined was because once I had the extra space of a 1 bedroom I've never been able to go back.
I have 3 large men in my family, all over 6 ft tall. we love the extra space.
