How adorable are the girls' outfits!?! Love those two cuties. Oh and adult girls are looking fine too.
Aren't they? Mary got them from some resale place; I thought they were the cutest darn things.
Yay for Cayley grabbing up the doll before they were all gone. Too bad, you couldn't get one too when you went back.
She was so very happy when she found it.
Good thing those cheeseburgers turned out so good or Mrs. Kathy might have been in a heap of trouble with the girls. Lunch looks delicious!
I love the girls outfits. Cute, cute, cute!!
I thought so too.
That Cayley, way to grab that Elsa doll!!That merchandise does go crazy fast, doesn't it?!
I can't believe how fast it is still going.
The pictures with Mickey and Minnie and friends were just precious. And very nice group photos of all of you!
Thanks, Katie.
I really liked your Chefs pictures, I am eating there for the first time this fall and I can't wait. Sorry to hear the service wasn't stellar, though.
That is a whole lot of cuteness! Awesome on finding the Elsa doll! Too bad they sold out so quickly.
It was cuteness overload, I tell ya.
Lunch looks awesome! Glad the girls like the cheeseburgers!
Jill in CO
Congrats on the Elsa doll! I hope you find another! My mom just called and told me she scored a singing Olaf for my youngest's birthday party on Saturday!! He's going to be so excited!
Ashley, that is awesome about the singing Olaf.
Your soup and sandwich look amazing. All that cheese is the best!
I know ours is the 24th? (i think) I've been having one he77 of a time linking everything to MDE account. What a pain in the rear. Took tech support over 24 hours to get our PAP vouchers linked yesterday. Now it shows our hotel reservation on one page but not on the next. Looks like I'll be spending a few more hours on the phone with them tonight.
Don't even get me started on that thing. I'm afraid we might have issues on the 21st, but I have a number to call the next day if I have problems (long story...I'll fill you in later).
WE were there for 3 days . hard to fit everything in.![]()
Glad to hear that!
Thanks.
Wow . so how is it having him home more?
Truthfully? Luckily, I am at work during the days.
We haven't either!
Smart move on your part.
I passed out holding the computer so I went back to tell you i'd be back but obviously I didn't post on the right entry.
Oops...I wonder whose thread you did put it on?
No way I'm missing it again (or the castle show).
Yea, we need to discuss what our plan is for MK.![]()
We have not eaten at Chefs, but every time I see that soup in someone pictures or videos, I can taste it!
I love that soup!
I am not surprised those dolls were gone so quickly. It does look like Hollywood Studios is now doing a pretty good job of really stocking up the Frozen merchandise now, so maybe our girls will have decent luck finding things when we are there.
I hope the girls have good luck each finding something they want.
Avery and Cayley look so sweet with Minnie. Good pictures.![]()
Trying to get caught up on TR's and yours was the first one I saw!
Jen; good to see you and thanks for checking in.
Avery looked beautiful as a mermaid, and Cayley was an adorable princess! Your meeting with Anna and Elsa looked fun! I have to make my FP+ selections soon and I'm debating on whether or not to get one for them...I LOVE Elsa (I mean, Anna too, but Elsa is my fav!) but they make me so nervous...
Why do they make you nervous? They truly were a lot of fun and I'm getting one for Mark and I (although I've not told him). They are "separate" now...you see them individually which I preferred them together.
Your Dismeet in AK looked like fun!
It really was; Lisa is wonderful.
Yak and Yeti looks so good in all of the TR's I see it in, but I never go there, it always gets bumped for something else!Someday I'll try it!
I hope you do. It's really good.
Yay, Epcot day! Yay Starbucks being in Disney parks! (Still not over it, I just LOVE that they have finally combined!) And YAY picture of MY favorite fountain!
I'm thrilled with Starbucks too. And yes YOUR favorite fountain.
Aww, the pictures at the Character Spot were so cute! If I see it with a 5 minute wait, I'm definitely stopping by this year!
I'm not sure why it's been so short the last several times we've been there.
I'm not a huge fan of Chef's but everything you guys got looked so good! I really do love that onion soup, but the last time we were there it was just so obnoxious! Maybe I'll try it again in a few years!
I remember you weren't thrilled with your table spot; I don't recall how your meal was. I've never had a bad meal t here.
Officially caught up!![]()
Yes the girls were just loaded with cuteness! (Not that they aren't always) It looks like Mickey and Minnie really got into it. Of course the best pic is always with Goofy!!!
True...they are always cute, but this day there was more cutness than normal. And of course you loved the Goofy picture best, Marv.
I just love how so many people rave about Les Chefs de France and then order things that are considered American. ......Where's the escargot or ratatouille?
Of course based on the one time I ate there I think I prefer walking on back to the patisserie personally.
![]()
The girls look so cute and 5 minutes for characters... yup I would be in line.
No doubt; I can wait five minutes for any character (well, maybe except Stitch).
So crazy how fast the frozen stuff "melts" off the shelves.
It blows me away.
My dinner at Chefs was ....... well probably not the best to judge from. With all my stupid allergies I ended up with a very bland and boring chicken and potato chunks. It was good but VERY plain. No skin either he took off the skin because it might have a little bit of garlic on it which I told he could leave on as long as I knew it was there I could deal with it if need but NOOOoooooo
That's too bad.
May have to go with the mac and cheese... or the kids cheeseburger.![]()
Smart move to grab the dolls quickly. I guess I just hit it lucky in early December scoring Anna and Elsa barbie sized dolls for my granddaughter for Christmas.
You really did get lucky; good for you!
I love the outfits on the girls! Very appropriate for meeting Minnie. Also, I love how they call you two "Miss Kathy" and "Mr. Mark." So sweet.
They always have. I think this year it was a little more just "Kathy"...which is fine with me; but they are such sweet and polite girls.
I've never eaten at Chefs, but that ham and cheese sandwich looks really tasty. Interesting how they melted cheese on the outside.
Love the pictures and yes you will miss Andy but you may see more of him now.
Thanks, Pat. They are moving about 45 minutes away. I'm sure we will see him as school where he coaches is only 20 minutes away from our house.
How is Markies shoulder?
Love the pics of the kids! Hard to believe its been a year already!
I can't believe how fast that year went.
I didn't want to say on FB but when your kids first leave, its like a little honeymoon season!k: It is hard to adjust to, but you will find your own routines together, and it makes your time together that much more special!
![]()
I must confess that in all the times I've been to AK we have never made it over to Rafiki's Planet Watch! I'll have to fix that next month.
You should; it's not an every trip thing, but there is some neat stuff there.
That Apple looked Yum! Was that crushed butterfinger bar on top?
IF Mary ever gets back here, perhaps she can answer that.
How cute were those dresses on your Epcot day? Adorable!
Kathy, how can it be that Mark and Alicia have already been married for a year. It feels like yesterday that you posted those wedding pics. But thanks for sharing, your "kids" look so in love in their pics.
I can't believe it's been a year either. I have no idea how the time went so fast.
And, I cannot believe how fast those Frozen dolls were sold out. They had MASSES of them at DLP and no one really seemed to care much about them. I should have picked a few of them up - I could have made a fortune.![]()
our trip was amazing Kathy, thanks for following on FB! just finished uploading all my photos, excited to start scrapbooking them!
So glad to hear.
the girls look adorable and love the character spot photos!
Thank you.
for Cayley finding the Elsa doll!
It was so awesome and the smile on her face was priceless.
happy you got to ride your daddy's favorite ride first thing
Yes, it was.
lunch looks yummy, sorry about not having a great waiter! yay for the girls trying their cheeseburgers!
I was happy to see they enjoyed them.
know you'll miss Andy, hopefully they will have you over to visit a lot!
They promised we would be their first dinner guests.
cute photos of Mark and Alisha, that year went fast!
It sure did.
hope you have a wonderful weekend!
GREAT pictures of your boys and girls! You are a blessed Mama!!!![]()
Very nice pictures of the boys and girls...love it!![]()
I know that you're going to miss Andy when he moves out. Is their apartment located nearby?
They will be about 45 minutes away (depending on traffic). They actually will be living two blocks from the bar that they tape at during the show Chicago Fire.
Cute cute cute one year anniversary pictures! It sure doesn't seem like a whole years has passed since their wedding. Time files!
aw those pics of the girls with Minnie are super cute
Thanks, Phil; we all thought so too.
and yeah for finding an Elsa doll! I really can't recall a Disney phenomenon this big as far as dolls and stuff go (other things - cabbage patch dolls, etc. yeah, but not specifically Disney) ... it's just crazy!
Neither can I. I don't think even Beauty & The Beast was this huge.
Oh, and I can relate to having a football rivalry in the family as I am a Giants fan and my wife likes the Eagles. Generally it is just fun - except for when she gets grouchy after my team wins championships and hers, well, doesn't
Oooh...that is another tough one. Giants v. Eagles. Must admit not a fan of Eli or anyone on the Eagles.
Though at least we both root against the Cowboys![]()
Oh my goodness! I knew I was behind but over 10 pages?I think your thread has new posts to it so frequently it keeps it at the top of my "recent" threads list. I work backward... catching up with the one that I have not read yet that was updated the longest time ago.
Sorry; I want to get it done before we go on the next one which is only 69 days away.
Snacks pool side sounds lovely! Especially the adult beverage.
Adult beverage definitely the best part.
That bus you rode to AK, I prefer that kind. I am not sure why the benches along the perimeter kinda bug me. I like the 2 seaters like that.
I like the two seats myself.
The Safari looks like it was a good one! Yay!!!
It was a good one except for no lion.
Your dismeet pics are awesome!
Thank you.
I actually like PEW. So cool that Hunter rode with the girls.
Too much spinning for me.
Yak and Yeti looks so good. I have always wanted to sit upstairs. I wonder if it could be requested?
I don't see why not. And they offer you the stairs or an elevator up there.
We got to see that same rodent at RPW in January. I am not sure why, but he/she kinda creeps me out.
As long as they are bigger than a rat, I'm usually okay.
Yay for pool time! buton it being cut short cause they needed to clean it.
I think that is only the second time that's ever happened when we were at a pool.
I think one reason I love the POR/FQ and OKW resorts is that you can boat or bus to DTD. So cool!
Which is certainly even more ideal now with all that construction.
I think they can cut the apples for you and then they box it all up nicely. That may have made it easier for her.
I'll have to remember that because Mark mentioned wanting one.
Yay for the getting the dolls! Those are hot items.Sorry that you were not able to go back to grab another one.
Spoiler Alert: we would see them again later in the trip and crazy how the CM was followed carrying them.
What great pp pics at the character stop!
Thanks, Ann.
We were seated in that same little room last fall... right at opening. I actually really liked it. I loved how we saw people walking by... as though we were in some bistro in paris. I love the food there!
It was very nice over here I just found it kind of weird as we've never been brought over there.
Love the pictures of the kids! Congrats to Andy and Des for finding a place.
Thank you, Ann.
And with that... I am caught up! (for at least a few minutes)
Bigon having an empty nest! Think of it as practice for when you and Mark move to Florida, it will happen
There is oodles of cuteness, and WOOHOO for scoring the dolls! I'm glad they ate up even though it was a burger
![]()
Woohoo! Glad you guys snatched up an Elsa doll! Man those things could be used as currency! Omg those pics are totally adorable of the girls with the characters!! Love them!
Wendy, the smile on Cayley's face was worth it all...priceless. Thanks.
Lunch looks yummy. I've only done Les Chefs once and that was for dinner. I was a fan.![]()
We've not tried dinner; perhaps we will try that next time.
Sorry to hear about the impending empty nest, Kathy. I can only imagine that will be hard, but I'm sure you will still see lots of them. Love the anniversary pics!
Sent from my iPad using DISBoards
Oh Kathy, I can sympathize with you on having an empty nest. Its even worse when they move farther away. My oldest dd, Kate, currently lives in Baltimore (about 45 minutes away) and is moving to New Jersey with her boyfriend Chris. Luckily she just accepted a good job at NYU! She has lived in NYC for 10 of the last 14 years, so its not like she has always been so close, but I will miss her. My oldest son, Steven, lives about 4 miles from me with his wife Melissa, so that is some consolation! My younger son, Andrew, lives in Pittsburgh, about 4.5 hours away, and then the youngest, Shannon (or Izze as she likes to be known), lives in Chicago.
Awww....Tess, I'm sorry to hear that. I knew your youngest moved here recently.
We have the football rivalry going in our house too. My entire family are Ravens fans, my dh Charlie, daughter-in-law Melissa - her son, Joe, and Kate's boyfriend Chris are all Steelers fans. I don't know where we went wrong.
I got a little behind on your TR - you update too fast for me! I wish that would rub off on my TR!
It's summer and people have family plans and are busy...I totally understand.
Anyway - great fun at AK - my DDs like RPW too. Especially Sarah, who I think should become a vet. She says no, she'd be too sad when animals are sick or die. Sweet thing.
I'm with Sarah; I'd be too sad when they got really sick or died (why I couldn't be a nurse).
DTD from OKW on the boat is great! I can't wait to do that!
You will love it...no traffic!
Is there a punch card for Turtle Krawls? Buy 5 get one free?
There definitely should be!
Epcot - my favorite!
Score on the Elsa doll! Way to go Cayley! Too bad you didn't get another one then. I hope they are doing better about keeping them stocked. I'm glad my girls are getting out of the dolls and dress-up phase just for that reason alone.
She's really a beautiful doll too. I miss not ever having girls with dolls.
Cute outfits to take pics with the characters! I bet Minnie was happy to see Avery looking so good!
She was...she was clapping and pointing and having fun with the girls.
Chefs - YUMMY!!! We've only eaten there once, but I'd go back. Too bad about the lame server. Was he at least cute?
Yes, he was kind of cute.
Empty nest, huh? I've got a ways to go for that around here. Last night both girls were out for the evening and DH and I actually had time to do things ourselves - including watch a movie that I've been wanting to see for a while. It was so nice.
I hope the kids will be close by so you can see them regularly.
We can do that now...watch a movie...as Andy is rarely home. I think it's just the face knowing that both of my boys are "grown up" and don't need me anymore.
Great one-year pics! Love the chalkboard idea! SO cute!!
The girls look absolutely adorable in their outfits.
They would say thank you.
Great PP picturesSo cute
I'm glad the line was so short as it was a perfect time for a character meet with the outfits.
Crazy about those dolls, I have two boys so we haven't even seen the movie
You haven't seen the movie yet? Get on that. One of the attorneys I work for has two boys and they LOVE the movie...especially Olaf.
Very nice one year pictures, they look very happy.![]()
The pictures at the character spot are all so cute! The girls dresses were perfect for the shots. Really good pictures of your kiddos too. As for empty nest, believe me you and Mark will enjoy it as long as your kids don't move far. Ours are still in the same town as we are, so for my hubs and I it's been kinda fun to have the house all to ourselves.
Playing catch up this weekend. Good thing I'm not following a lot of TR's.
Hi, Lorrie...good to see you again.
DTD looked like fun and I agree the buses are way to cold. I freeze on them and I don't mind the cold.
Maybe it's because I hate the cold so much that it bothers me more.
EWW on the pool. We have a few bio closings at our pool every summer. Not fun when it's 95 degrees and you can't swim.
Yes, it wasn't fun as it was hot. I suppose we could have walked to one of the village pools but I never even thought of it.
Good score on the Elsa doll. I looked for something Frozen when I was there for my DGD and found nothing. She LOVES that movie. I have a DVD system in my van and she'll watch it even on a 5 minute ride.
It's a great movie as far as I'm concerned. I listen to the soundtrack in the car all the time.
The meal at Chefs de France looked good but it's not on my radar. My DH won't even go in the France pavilion.
I remember you telling me that.
Glad your mom is doing a little better. And Mark is staying busy umping baseball. Our season ended abruptly. Our club wasn't chosen to handle the Elite District games so our director refused to send a team to the Districts. The team my DGS was already chosen to be on. They are getting an earful at the next meeting.
Lorrie, that is awful about the games.
Your son and DIL's anniversary pics are so cute. They are a nice looking couple.
Thanks.
OK caught up. On to the next one,s including my own.
This is an awesome picture of you gals!
Thank you, Mary Ellen.
For some reason I thought I read and commented on this update, but apparently I didn't.
I do that all of the time.
This really was a cuteness overload update. The girl's outfits are simply adorable. OMG! So freaking cute!
I warned everyone it was cuteness overload.
Lunch looks relish. I have had that amazing grilled ham & cheese and it was awesome! I think I'm about due for a return lunch visit to Les Chefs.
Can you squeeze it in on your next trip?
Bummer on not being able to find the doll. That stinks.
I may have found it later in the trip.
The pictures of your boys with their lovely ladies are all so wonderful. thanks so much for sharing! I know you are going to miss Andy, but you'll be OK.![]()
Thanks, MEK. I am so proud of them all and love sharing them with my DIS family.
Great updates!
Sorry; I want to get it done before we go on the next one which is only 69 days away.
Adult beverage definitely the best part.
It was a good one except for no lion.
Too much spinning for me.
I don't see why not. And they offer you the stairs or an elevator up there.
As long as they are bigger than a rat, I'm usually okay.
Which is certainly even more ideal now with all that construction.
Spoiler Alert: we would see them again later in the trip and crazy how the CM was followed carrying them.
Had to catch up, life is busy busy busy! Don't be surprised if I sneak into your suitcase for your trip to Vegas!
Summer does that to you. I can't wait until we go; I love my father-in-law, but I can't wait until he goes home.
Oh my goodness, the girls look ADORABLE!! They are such cuties!!
Yes they are!
Be careful tonight, we are in for a lot of rough weather. I was volunteering at the Glendale Heights Fest beer tent and they closed us down early because of the storm!
A year! Wow, where in the world did the time go! So crazy.
I don't know; if you find out, let me know.
All the kids look great. I'm so sorry to hear how sad you'll be when your last one at home is gone. But like I said, it's a sign of a good upbringing, he's ready to leave the nest.
I'm sure he was ready a while ago; but he is very mature and knew he needed to wait until he had a good chunk in his savings. But thank you for the kind words.
I truly hope Andy and Des will be happy together.I hear wedding belllllllls!
![]()
Really nice family photos!
Thank you so much.
That's a Colts jersey your daughter in law is wearing, correct? I think that was Reggie Wayne's number. We have quite a few Colts fans here in Northwest Indiana, but far more Bears fans.
Yes, it is a Colts. And she hasn't let Mark forget yet that the Colts beat the Packers in the 2012-2013 season.Bears fans in NW Indiana? That's rather odd, isn't it?
We've been empty nesters for awhile now. It gets better and you'll enjoy being just the two of you again.
I know I am late but, I am joining in. I just got all caught up.And now that I am I want to ride the People Mover and Haunted Mansion. I also want to eat! CHH shrimp yummmmm Y'all look like you are having so much fun! You have wonderful pics here....everything from the animals to the great A&E pics. The mermaid stuff is awesome! Alas...my daughters are grown, my DS 12 would never and I seem to only have DGSs. At least they have the pirate thing for them. I hope all works out for your DH. I know the feeling of the lost job, it bites.
And nice bags you two. Love them. Enjoying and I can't wait to read more!
No need to be sorry. I completely understand. I hope to get my january trip done before the august trip.
You think you have all this time and then all of a sudden it is like...where the heck did the time go.
I think the Turtle crawl is one of the best things about OKW!
It's definitely in the top 3!
Well, that is no good!
Yep, no where to be found.
spinning like that I can do... tea cups with evil children - not so muchI havent been able to ride the tea cups since I last rode with my oldest ds.
Oh, not a fan of those tea cups either. Luckily, if hubby and I do it, neither one of us spins. Oh I think I can just picture your oldest DS giving you a real good spin.
Well, I am totally going to request then!
I definitely would.
Definitely not a fan of rats.
UGH! I keep forgetting about that. My inlaws are going to be driving in after we arrive this fall. They have never been to WDW. I hope that they can manage ok.
Just don't let them drive to DTD! They aren't staying there, are they?
That is crazy!
Avery is super cute in her Minnie Mouse gear
Thanks, Emma.
Glad Cayley got the Elsa doll before they sold out.
Me too! That girl had an eagle eye that day.
Luvin your DS's anniversary pics. The one with the sign forever to go is to cute.![]()
