What types of convertibles does National carry? I see on their website they have Chrysler Sebrings what else do they carry on the Convertible isle? I am an emerald member.

Just wondering what I may end up with.
TIA

Just don't do it in sumer. Too hot, air does'nt work with top down. Leave top down and can't sit on seats or touch steering wheel. We learned the hard way :sad2:

Good point.. I was looking to rent in February so that is all good with me.

Not sure about National, but we rented a Mustang from Hertz (they actually brought it over from the airport to SOG for us to pick up there).

My Husband would freak out if he got a Mustang! I will have to check Hertz prices and see how they compare to National.

It was fun. We rented it to go to Busch Gardens. We were there in November 06 and had the top down. The locals could definitely tell who the tourists were..... :lmao: Pricing wasn't too bad. Become a #1 Club member (it's free - there are different levels) and we used AAA for a discount. I think it was around $70 a day at the time.

Also, price out both options... MCO vs. renting off site. It seems sometimes you a better price when you don't rent at the airport (of course only if that can be an option for your situation).

Thanks, I am looking to rent in Miami after we get back from a cruise then drop it off after our Disney stay. I will check out all the options
Do you know if there is a car rental terminal near the port of Miami or would I get a better selection at Miami airport?

Last September there were only Sebrings in the Alamo/National convertible lane, on both A & B terminals. Since I had read bout VW Beetles somtimes, we took the time to check it out, to no alas. We still loved it, and we're renting one again this year! (Well, loved having a convertible, not driving a Sebring... ;))

When I was recently booking a rental car for our upcoming trip, I noticed that Avis had VW beetle convertibles under their "cool cars" collection. If it does not come up in the initial search click on where it says "more cool cars" and a larger list of cool cars will appear.:flower3::happytv:

We used to rent convertibles a lot and it was always a Sebring. Lately the prices have been too high so we gave up. Last time was prob 3 yrs ago. I always check them out while in the Alamo/National garage and last few times saw PT cruiser conv. I remember thinking I was glad we didn't book a conv. cuz it seemed the trunk was the size of a grocery bag. At least the Sebring had enough trunk to put a few suitcases in.

We loved having one. Even got me a, "OMG! You're the best mom ever!" from my then 8 yo.

We were flying out of TPA and the drive there was just as nice as it could be...top down and radio up. :cloud9::cool2:

We rented from Alamo one way from Miami to Orlando this May - there is a bus pickup at the port that takes you to the airport rental. I don't think there are any rentals right at the port anymore (maybe Hertz?), but saw quite a few shuttles taking folks to the off-site locations. One note - Alamo was EXTREMELY popular, and even though they had a full sized bus, about 1/4-1/3 of the waiting crowd did not get on the first bus through.
